You can disable comments somewhere in "Settings."
Also, you can cut off comments or delete all comments on an individual post in the "compose/edit" window. You might have to click "Post Options" to see the choices.

Good because haloscan sucks ass. It's easy for bloggers to add comments to their blog, but I hate the user interface.
Wordpress has been working out well for me, I just wish I had better CSS skills.
I've got a SK2.2 to protect against comments in WordPress and it works like a dream.
I've had the $4 plan at go daddy for 16 months or so, and they're OK, but they do little to no handholding. I'm not sure it's for everyone.
