Yes actually I do when I'm not biking and doing other things. I'm currently building an A-4 Skyhawk. The one Admiral Stockdale was shot down in. I take a long time to finish one though, usually a couple of months working on it an hour at a time here and there.

Gravatar I did that a lot as a kid, mostly because once built I then had a toy. My brother and I started building scratch flying models while overseas and we had a good, high, roof from which to launch. I wanted to build a bamboo para-glider and launch myself but mom wouldn't allow it and I didn't have any means to get the fabric or bamboo. Hell I was only ten.
My (older) brother had a friend back in the States who was real good at it and quite possibly inhaled a few too many Testor's paint and glue fumes. His dad had been in the RAF and he (Peter) concentrated on WWI planes in his tiny back bed-room - it was very close-quarters with poor ventilation. He always had (and still has) a childlike manner, as though we were still in grade-school.
After I had graduated from college and was back visiting home, he showed up on the doorstep holding a full-on Star-wars battlewagon he had completed - local hobby shops used to feature his work.

Gravatar Modelmaking was one of my fav things to do as a kid. Like DirtCrashr said, when you're done, you have a toy. I had all the WWII planes, as well as most of the Pacific fleet.

Then, when I was 12, I discovered three things:

1) Duco cement is very flammable.
2) Firecrackers.
3) The recipe for smoke bombs.

I then went about recreating the battle of Midway on a nearby pond.

The next year, I discovered girls.

Gravatar Geek,

I told my wife pretty much the same thing. Sent all sorts of boats to their death via m-80s. We used to float them into the pond in my back yard and then toss firecrackers at the boats, seeing who could sink what.

For napalm, we would take paint thinner and those styrofoam peanuts that come in packaging and mix them together. Very very effective.

I too discovered girls...but now I'm married so the girl thing is like another life.

Gravatar Geek follows the progression I neglected to mention. It's perfect. Mine was Gaudalcanal in the sandbox with gasoline, nearly lit the garage on fire.

Gravatar Early Airfix 1/72 kits. Still have about 60 in the garage for when I get too old to walk...

Gravatar The craze of modeling is growing day by day among the young girls. Now a days, every men and women try to copy what their favourite models like to wear & uses to maintain their personality good looking.
