My church gives out wax candles at the Christmas Eve service. It's just a bad idea! I was afraid my boyfriend was going to set my hair on fire with his, and when we were praying, hot wax dripped onto my leg.
My favourite Christmas carol is "O Holy Night", especially Josh Groban's version. It's the only one I don't get tired of.

This year we allowed our two oldest sons to have candles for the service--they are 9.5 and just-turned-8. I was nervous, but it was wonderful to see them gaze at the candlelights and sing. . .
