A "nice guy" calls, by the way--and more than once every three months. He was in the old country for six weeks and got harassed about being single and pulled out your name when he got home is what happened.

Yeah, be careful of men who come from extended visits with their families in another country. My now brother-in-law always gave my poor sister more than her share of headaches after those trips.
