Ah yes, the new "Fifth Column" is upon us. They seek to sow seeds of doubt among us. They want to sap out strength, to reduce our resolve.
I blogged on this myself yesterday at my site. It would be a compliment to the folks at the BBC who put this together to call them "clueless." I call them sinister. Their intent, or at least the result of their actions, is the same as the fellow-traveling "useful idiots" of the earlier part of this century.

I have been so busy lately that I have not been to your blog, so I didn't see that you had already blogged on it.
Oh, yes, the people who put that BBC trash together are indeed sinister. It is the people who believe that sort of tripe that I was calling clueless. My boss (a very intelligent, college educated black woman), saw F-9/11 and proclaimed it to be "truth". I was truly surprised at her reaction, as I never would have thought she would have fallen it.

Those were some really depressing articles Jamie. My response to these pontificating "intellectuals" would go something like this:
Dear Appeasers,
Get a little closer to the next set of crumbling skyscrapers before trying to resurrect former P.M. Chamberlain’s delusions. Bring back Churchill’s fortitude and comprehension of reality so history will record Great Britain as a strong ally against the REAL threat of Islamists’ ambitions.

Well, this should cheer you up - - "The Guardian yesterday ran up the white flag and called a halt to "Operation Clark County- -
But wait, there's more.....
-- ...Sharon Manitta, the spokesman in Britain for Democrats Abroad, tried warning The Guardian: "This will certainly garner more votes for George Bush."
Mr Katz wrote yesterday that the paper had considered the possibility, but "we didn't believe it". He insisted: "Folks in Clark County itself have best recognised the spirit of the enterprise. Local media coverage has been consistently fair and good humoured."
"Good-humoured" headlines in the local newspaper, the Springfield News-Sun have included "Butt Out Brits, voters say" and "Trashing letter campaign" ....--

What I DIDN'T know is that the Guardian also encourages Brits to give money to support their choice of President:
--Give money
American law forbids foreigners from giving money to affect the outcome of a federal election - except that, on closer inspection, it doesn't. You're banned from donating to the campaigns themselves, or to many of the independent campaigning groups that fight explicitly on behalf of one candidate. So you need to identify officially non-partisan groups whose activities, none the less, have the practical effect of helping one candidate over the other. "Perhaps the most important way foreigners could help John Kerry would be to help out those organisations which have, as part of their mission, fostering African-American voter turnout," says Nathaniel Persily, a Pennsylvania university expert on election law. - -

...continued
"It's quite clear that if there was 100% African-American turnout in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Florida, John Kerry would win this election running away." The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is the most obvious choice here - an influential, well-organised, non-partisan body whose get-out-the-vote activities are extremely likely to end up helping the Democrats. --

Jamie, re your first comment on Farenheit 911:
Yes, I too have met otherwise intelligent people who have told me things like "I saw F 911 the other day, and while I thought it was a bit extreme, did you know that Bush _______?" And they'll come out with one of Moore's loonly charges. Depressing how some folks supress their critical faculties when they see something on TV or at the movies.

Now how many of those folks will run out to see "Celsius 41/11"? It supposedly disputes some of the "facts" shown in Moore's "documentary".

Where's my letter? I feel so left out. I need a hug.
"Are they truly so clueless that they believe this kind of stuff?"
You know better than to ask that question...you know very well that these clueless people exist!
Oh, sorry, that was a rhetorical question, wasn't it?
