Carl Cameron on Fox is at the Kerry HQ. He says that the Kerry people were optimistic early on, but now are "concerned."
Read - near panicked
Not over by a long shot, and we could still loose this, but I remain cautiously optimistic.

Bush gets Ohio, and Fox just showed that he is way up in Alaska! 269 for Bush.
They've been panicking all night over at Daily Kos http://www.dailykos.com/
left wing site.
Even if Kerry wins everything else, and he won't, we win because it would go to the House of Representatives.
Ok, I'm finally beyond my original "cautiously optimistic."

Tom,
That Ohio call would have put me in a partying mood, if I wasn't so exhausted, both emotionally and physically. And then Alaska's 3 electoral votes brings Bush's electoral vote to 269. Looks like we will win this thing.
But let's hope the margin of victory in Ohio is large enough to withstand an assault by Kerry-Edwards lawyers.....

I hear you, Mark. Right now I've got that weird combination of exilaration and exhaustion. I spoke with my sister earlier today and she said she's had a headache all week stressing over this.
After this is over I'll sleep for a year.

Fred Barnes is pissed. Juan Williams just said that Kennedy is probably telling Kerry to contest the election. Barnes said in effect "hey you have to have evidence. Real evidence."
Getting a bit testy, I think.
Brit had to break them up.

Just heard from Edwards.
So is this they way it will be from now on, then? All elections will be litigated?
Ah I'm too tired to write on. I'm going to declare victory and go to bed.

You guys hung in there much longer than I could. I crashed a little before midnight, when it was still looking really good for the president. (Before they For some reason I woke up at 3:30. I turned on the tv and the first thing I saw was a reporter interviewing a soldier in Iraq. I thought I heard him say that it was trending towards Kerry. My heart sank.
Since it was still too early to get up, I turned the tv off and tried to go back to sleep. A lot of good THAT did. So, at 4:20, I got on the net. Sure am glad that I did, because now I see that Bush has both the electoral votes (269) and is ahead in the popular vote.
WHEW!

Is it true that Dubya has won more popular votes than ANY president in history? That he got more than Reagan? WONDERFUL!

Congratulations to the President, George W. Bush. Wonder how many print news guys stayed up all night and will be late getting the paper out because kerry won't concede?
so much for their endorsements. LOl
Kerry has not real chance in Ohio. I think he is just waiting until tomorrow to give his base the appearance that he doesn't give up until the fat lady sings. fat lot that will do him sense he has no career after this.
Except that I make a prediction that the self agrandizing traitor of Viet Nam will not go away quietly. I look for a new anti war base to start and kerry at the head "investigating".
He has nothing to lose, but a place in history.

Jamie,
That's right. More people voted for George W. Bush for President in this election than for any other candidate for President in American history.
I can't wait until Bush is declared the winner of either Nevada, Iowa or New Mexico by Fox News and is then considered the winnner of at least 270 electoral votes.
But I, like Tom, will declare victory, even if only in a "provisional" sense. Get it?

Kat,
Thanks for stopping by. It would be absolutely amazing if John Kerry did something the Democrats have forgotten how to do: Be gracious in the aftermath of defeat. It seems the Al Gore mentality has taken over their party completely.

Larry...thanks. It had to be said. And it hasn't a thing to do with JFK or the Democrat base although I was disappointed in their embracing him.
As for Kerry, he seemed gracious enough today, but tomorrow is another story. Let's see if he becomes the "loyal opposition" or stays an obstructionist.
