I am a woman and I am SO TIRED of hearing other women say they are backing Hillary simply because she's a woman. I too would love to see a woman in that position but I would NEVER support or vote for the lesser candidate just because of their race or gender.

I agree. I do think the one thing this campaign has brought to the surface is that in america we still have a lot of work to do when it comes to race and gender. At least there is a dialogue.

There is dialogue only if you consider screaming and accusations of racism and sexism at the drop of a hat to be "dialogue". When I was a Hillary supporter who pointed out the problems with Obama's health care plan and the vagueness of his "change" message I was accused of being a racist Southern (yes, penguins are Southerners by definition -- FAR South!). When Hillary jumped the shark by running John McCain's anti-Obama ads and I jumped to Obama, I was then accused of being a sexist penguin who hated women and was against Hillary only because she was a woman. Say *anything* good about Obama, or mention *any* flaw in Hillary's campaign on Melissa McEwan's blog, and you will be jumped on by the Feminist Stereotypical Kneejerkers From Hell as if you were Rush Limbaugh advocating putting Hillary over your knee and giving her a spanking for being a naughty girl. Mention Hillary's poor money management, and it's "You hate her because you're an instrument of the patriarchy!". Mention her campaign's poor message discipline and "You hate her because you hate women!". I thought the Obamabots were annoying... until I ran into the Shrillery Brigade. Bah humbug. That's not a way to hold a conversation about race or gender. That's just more right-wing-style attempts to intimidate via name-calling and false accusations. Rush Limbaugh would be proud.
