AWWW! You had me tearing up until that last bit. (It is a very sad story and I can fully fathom how it felt.) Thanks for bringing me around so that I wasn't in a mushy state all day, funny lady. :D

Gravatar Ohh... commiserations. Nothing worse than watching the light go out in their little kitty eyes. It's a good lesson for little kids. Now you need a new kitty! Complete the cycle!

BTW while I'm here and not in front of my home email, I'll see you on Saturday for some rolling...

Gravatar She was a good cat. This evening D'Arcy was in his room playing and all of a sudden started crying. I went in to see what was wrong "I miss Nippy" he said, and proceeded to have a big cry about her. He even wanted to look at all the photos of her that are on the laptop, and cried harder when the ones of the two of the, together came up. A good thing, grief.

Gravatar Aww. I'm sorry. My son lost his first cat around six years old. It was the first time he experienced grief, and it really hurt to watch him go through that. We got a new cat a few months later, and he really really loves her. Loving and leaving are a part of life, I guess, but the leaving part is never easy.

Your last few lines made me laugh.

Gravatar yeah, it's true. i think that if we can support him through this he'll grow a lot. We don't deal with grief very well in our culture, so encouraging him to keep noticing when he is feeling sad is a good thing i reckon.
