Ah, cultural differences. Let me check with my translator...he says a biro is a "ballpoint pen" (it was blue) and texta is "felt tip" (and my distinction is "one that a child would use to draw, rather than one that an adult would use to write"). They are both brand names historically, that have come to mean the generic object, as often happens in this country...

Gonna have to get my scanner dusted-off and demonstrate the resemblances in our work =D
Good luck to D'Arcy, let's hope there's a Tony Hart style "and now the gallery" show of all the winners and runners-up... oh wait, you didn't get that in Oz did ya?
Ah well, off to tidy the house now before the girl lands ;) Happy New Year to y'all :D

I'm an artsy-science person, so this is so cool for your son. I hope he wins that DVD; it sounds like one I'd love to own! I've caught up on Reading about D'Arcy for the past month or so, but no time to comment on each post. (He looks soooooo proud in the photo below, as he should be!)
Just want to say, how much I enjoy reading about him and your famly.
(Plus, glad you found me, relocated in blogland.)
