Gravatar He's a man that's why! And I'm not bashing the entire species, I'm just sayin'!

Time to tap in to your dominant side and tie him to a chair the next time it snows. And you know with this STUPID weather we're getting it's going to snow again...someday.

I hope he's feeling better and wises up!

Gravatar Mimi, I think they're calling for more snow today, so I might have to do as you suggest and tie him down. Honest to god, I know he was trying to 'help' me but all he did was scare me to death and piss me off. Not a good combination.

Gravatar have you tried locking the shovel up or chaining it to something? hehehe

I'm guessing you guys aren't that hurtin' for money that you couldn't hire someone to do your shoveling

hell my mother has been unemployed more in the last 3 years than she's worked and she still pays someone to plow us out - of course our driveway (parking lot) is way too big for us to try to shovel

I'm just sayin' - if it's too much for you to do and he obviously shouldn't be doing it - get some neighborhood kid to do it

Gravatar Because if he doesn't do it, who will?

Gravatar kitty, we do have a guy with a plow who comes and does the driveway; I stopped Allan doing it years ago when we discovered he had cardiomyopathy, but there is still the area in front of the door. It's not huge but it has to be hand shovelled or the mailman (or anyone else) can't get to the frontdoor without climbing through a pile of snow.

Brian, me! I did it the day before; that's why I got so pissed at him. It's one of the few movements that doesn't bother my shoulder and I am not stupid (unlike a certain man I could mention 'again'), I take very small shovelfuls each time. but most importantly? I don't have a heart condition!

Gravatar that's why I'm saying - Allan obviously shouldn't be doing it... so if it's too hard for you (or Allan doesn't want you doing it) maybe someone else (like a neighborhood kid) could do it for you

Gravatar There is another use for that shovel you know. You could just hit him upside the head with it!

Gravatar My grandfather will be 94 next month and he still insists on shoveling his snow. And he has a snowblower but thinks it is too much of a hassle to get it out!!

I'm so sick of shoveling snow...I think I'll go get my Grandfather's snow blower...won't be too much hassle for me to get it out! LOL!

Gravatar kitty, most of the kids around here are about 5 years old. A lot of the houses have been sold to young families and we're on the 'next generation' of kids. Oy, I'm so old. lol

Brian, wow, you're getting a bit drastic dontcha think?I don't really want to kill him ya know. Just stop him from killing himself. hehehe

Mimi, hey good for your grandfather! If there's nothing wrong with his health, it's okay to shovel if he doesn't overdo it. My neighbour is out there all the time...he doesn't know *why* but that's another story. We had my in laws' snow blower when we first moved in an yeah, I hated it. Till I got the stupid 14 miles of electric cord unwound and plugged in took forever, and it seemed the snow was always blowing in my face or I'd hit a snowbank and it would feel like I'd run into a truck...nope-give me a shovel and I'm a happy girl.

And I love your email addy!

Gravatar 5 year olds love to work - they ask to sweep and vacuum - so why not shovel!! I say put those ankle biters to work!!

Gravatar Mimi took the words right out of my mouth.

I am familiar with this. My 1st husb refused to take his meds (time release pain meds) until he was FREAKING in terrible pain. THAT'S NOT HOW THEY WORK!

Oh, but sorry, men being stubborn is just a sexist cliche.

Gravatar Preachin' to the choir, here.

/husband who just went back to work today after letting a condition get so bad it got infected and now he's on three different drugs. Bah. Stubborn men!
