Gravatar gosh that's a LONG list of stuff my mother ISN'T haaaa

there's no list of things like to the mother's who habitually picked their kids up late to the point of making young babysitters who don't know any better tell their friends over the phone that they're going to just leave if she doesn't get back soon - not realizing their giving the kid a nervous breakdown?

or the mothers who drove their kids around drunk?

or the ones who actually took their kids to the local bar and let them suck down shirley temples by the gallon and play video poker all night?

or the ones that let their begging daughter enter the local little kid beauty pageant and then put down her hobbies as things like fetching the paper, for the announcer to read as she walks down the runway - because they think it's funny

I could go on - but then I'd have no post for today hehehe

anyway - HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY (a day late) to one of the good ones

Gravatar Hope you had a great Mother's Day Jocelyn!

Gravatar Loved it, thank you and Happy Mother's Day back to you, too! {{{{hugs}}}}

Gravatar kitty, you and I have talked often enough about our mothers to know that neither of us exactly had wonderful childhoods, although my mother didn't drink, ahe was on prescription drugs that did not improve her personality in the least.

There will always be women who just shouldn't have children. But do and I'm trying to be charitable here, they did the best they could. I have to believe that or I'll *never* forgive my mother.

Brian, I had a great Mother's Day. My kids came over with food and the four of us enjoyed dinner together. What could be better?

Amber, I 'still' look around when I hear a little voice call "mommy" in a crowd. I'm pathetic. *g* Glad you liked this. And Happy Mom's Day to you, too.

Gravatar hmm well I'm so glad you are able to forgive your mother - it's the only healthy and sensible way to go about things

I think I might have an easier time if I didn't have to live next door to my mother haaaa

but I don't buy that my mother did her best - I think there comes a time when you have to take responsibility for your own life - no matter what happened earlier to fuck you up (within reason of course)

you either don't have kids until you get your head straight or you make a fucking effort so they at least know you tried

I don't know about you but in my case I don't feel that from my mother - she's 55 years old - her kids are both over 30.. .she's a grandmother and her probably one and only (amazing, beautiful, funny, totally AWESOME) granddaughter lives 2000 miles away because she's done such a sucky job - and she's STILL not taking responsibility for anything

if she owned up to her mistakes and made an effort to get well I might be able to work toward forgiving her - until then all I can do is work on myself so that this crap ends here

Gravatar p.s. people rarely call me by my real name out here in the real world - but for YEARS I went by the name Ginger online - I got so used to being referred to as Ginger that whenever I heard the word I'd turn my head

does that count? hehehe
