FRIST!

Just let me be the first one to say:

LOLOLOLOL!!!11

If you can't beat'em, join'em.

Why is it so hard for these networks to sort out who's a Republican and who's a Democrat??

Is this rocket science??? Jeeez.

Yeah. The blue signs with no reference to party affiliation are really paying off.

Too bad Maryland has an actual democrat running for the Senate.

He's an Oreo

brings back when FOX labled FOLEY a DEM.

Only this time an apology may be demanded.

Yeah, CNN is sure having a hard time labeling Republicans properly just like FAUX SPEWS.

Repukes know they have to pretend to be Democrats to win, just like Arnold is doing in CA.

Anyone who falls for this crap is stupid and deserve what they get.

Gravatar Just sent CNN another email.

Three days of spin on the Kerry lie and now this.

I asked then if they are the new Fox news.

Hardly any coverage on Boner bashing the generals.

This election is going to be a mess.

Gravatar blue signs, blue jacket, blue everywhere...
planned, i'm guessing...

Gravatar I live in Maryland....Steele bowed out of a campaign fundraising visit from Bush saying he had "other committments". Steele won't put the word "republican" on any of his literature, or signs, as well as his website. He has even gone as far as having blue bumper stickers printed up that say "STEELE DEMOCRAT" Claiming that they are not intended to be misleading, but were printed for people who are registered democrats who want to show their support for him. Tells you the state of his party in Maryland.

Gravatar Must be why he's had to come out and admit he's a republican, in public!

Gravatar The Steele campaign really is using bumper stickers that say "Steele Democrat".

Russert asked him if he considered making signs that said Steele Republican. Steele acted like it hadn't been thought of before and said "That's a good idea, I'll have to think about that..."

Gravatar Guess they figured if he's black he must be democrat. After all Sherod Brown is a democrat! ~(:P) Racism isn't over, the volume has just been turned down a bit...

Gravatar blue signs, blue jacket, blue everywhere...
planned, i'm guessing...
katy

Yeah, the only thing missing is Michael Stark in the background with a sign calling him this...
He's an Oreo
daPlaya

Gravatar Here's a link to a photo of Steele with a "STEELE DEMOCRAT: sign that ran in the Baltimore Sun http://www.baltimoresun.com/medi...09/ 25524269.jpg

Gravatar A tad OT, nevertheless, MSNBC has just pit Obama vs McCain. Ironically, as Obama offers promise itself for our misguided nation...Obama could legitamtely claim to be an Obama Republican, you know, like a Lincoln Republican, back when they weren't all douchebags.

In my mind, Steele is more aluminium than Democrat or Republican!

Gravatar yeah, CNN is pretty pathetic.
but, really... c'mon guys, cut them some slack. journalism is H-A-R-D.

Gravatar Perhaps that should read:

"Steele the elections"

Gravatar The rethugs are so pathetic. Despite all of the thumping dems have taken from rethugs since nixon, we've NEVER felt the desire to disguise ourselves as the other guys. the thugs are either advertising themselves as dems, or leaving the party affiliation off altogether. How sad. You can run, but you can't hide!

Gravatar What will he do with all those red jackets and shirts?

Isn't it funny how some colors are banned in many schools due to gang affiliation, but blue and red mean the adult world of politics?

Gravatar If I had an (R) next to my name, I wouldn't reveal it either.

Gravatar I'm afraid that it will work though, visual impressions last a long time...

Gravatar WTF?

First Foley is labled a Democrat by Fox and now CNN.....

Well if this was a one time mistake I can let it go.

Fox though kept their "screw up" going.

Gravatar I also have a hard time believing a black man is a Republican too.

And about all those gay republicans, mam they take self-loathing to new heights.

Gravatar a black republican = an oxymoron!
a gay black republican = an oxymoron within an oxymoron!

Gravatar Well there won't be a "D" next to his name on the Ballot! Thank God, er Darwin...Whoever...

Gravatar He's just ahead of the curve -- after November 7th, a LOT of people are going to be changing their affiliation!

Another reich-wing racist. Thanks for stopping by.

Gravatar Note the young white guys all around him in the screen-shot. And all waving the exact same poster.

Yeah, that was a spontaneous interview.

Just like when W had a gay male escort ask him questions when he did pressers for the WH press corpse. Excpet he was the only one who then spent the night at the WH. Equally spontaneous.

Gravatar THE NETROOTS needs to be COORDINATED ENOUGH to spam media companies with outrage over stuff like this!

Gravatar Who can expect any truth from these ignorant, Repug. news outlets???

Gravatar Doh! They found that page in the Fox News playbook!!

They shoulod have played jungle drums during the interview.

BTW, have you seen this? Foley acting?
http://www.radaronline.com/exclu...foleys- opus.php

Gravatar I'm new to the "Steel Democrat" thing.

That has to be the most bizarre campaign strategy I've ever seen. Faking like your from the other party. Truly bizarre.

Can the Democratic Party sue him for that? Or get some sort of injuction?

Eh, it's funny either way.

Gravatar bush is crazyer then a shithouse rat and twice as dangerous, time to set up thoes gallows

Gravatar That's because he's black. I'll bet the chyron operator saw the 'R' after his name on the script, saw the picture and thought "Nah. No way, dude."

Another reich-wing racist. Thanks for stopping by.
Dr. Matt

Oh.. you mean like Democratic leaders in Maryland are reich-wing racists?

'Party trumps race' for Steele foes
Black Democratic leaders in Maryland say that racially tinged attacks against Lt. Gov. Michael S. Steele in his bid for the U.S. Senate are fair because he is a conservative Republican.
Such attacks against the first black man to win a statewide election in Maryland include pelting him with Oreo cookies during a campaign appearance, calling him an "Uncle Tom" and depicting him as a black-faced minstrel on a liberal Web log.

Gravatar Uh-oh, the chameleon chose the wrong color at the wrong time...

so the all-seeing eye swept down from heaven and ate him. The end.

BTW, that there I-am-not-a-gay-preacher-man in Colorado has just stepped down because he probably is a gay preacher man in Colorado who pretended he was something else, also.

Ah mimicry. Ain't nature grand?

Gravatar He's an Oreo
daPlaya | 11.02.06 - 5:52 pm | #

And BTW: that oreo reference by this racist? I believe it's a reference to something that NEVER happened. Steele claims he was at an event and protesters were throwing oreo cookies at him. They weren't. A total lie!

Gravatar He's in the Black Republican Hall of Fame. How could they miss this?

Gravatar Doh! They found that page in the Fox News playbook!!

They shoulod have played jungle drums during the interview.

Gravatar No, princess, I don't "mean like" for anyone else. Now, we know you anti-American GOPigs like to speak for others, but you really don't. Reich-wingers are the most extremist people on the planet and they somehow think they speak for others. It's really a disorder for you "people".

Reich-wing Lawmaker in Slur Case Quits in Florida

MIAMI, Nov. 1 — A Florida state legislator who used a racial slur in a phone message to another state legislator resigned on Wednesday under pressure from fellow Republicans.

Shortly afterward, Miami-Dade County prosecutors charged the former legislator, Rafael Arza, and a relative with retaliating against and tampering with a witness in connection with that call and others made to Representative Gustavo A. Barreiro, Republican of Miami, on Oct. 21

Gravatar "He's an Oreo
daPlaya | 11.02.06 - 5:52 pm | # "

Let's end that right there - no misunderstanding - it is a reference that he is a democrat on the outside but has fluffy empty republican cream in the inside.

not to do with the color of skin. but it is a analogy of the old reference to being an oreo

Gravatar I'm gonna run as a republican, but pretend to be a democrat because I think people are dumb.BEEEEYAHHHHH!!!

Gravatar Who knows...it may be that someone somewhere will vote straight Democrat thinking they're actually voting for Steele.

Gravatar As an interested outsider, is the reason so many Republicans are being listed as Democrats a subliminal way ot get those who only get their news from these ?news chanals to vote for the Republican when they think they are voting for a Democrat.

I can see no other reason unless those who write the ticker tape banners are really thick.

Gravatar Nice blue signs he has in the background. I can't stand this fucker.

Gravatar Dennis...If you believe that the Washington Times has any journalistic entegrity, I have some beachfront swampland I'd like to show you.

Gravatar If we are going to use questionable gastronic terms to descibe Steele, lets settle it now, the bitch is a Zagnut bar; sure, they are still on the market but they dont taste very good. They ruin peanuts and they ruin coconut.

Make mine a Butterfinger!!!

Gravatar He's running against the bushit agenda but calls himself a "different kind of republican"..??? And dennis.....how do you do it.....I mean get by from day to day....It must hurt slamming your head into things all day long.....

Gravatar I don't think this is a true mistake. They made up bumper stickers and people in Maryland are driving around with
STEELE
DEMOCRAT
So since Maryland is mostly democrat they are trying to capitalize on it.

Gravatar I have a great life, mudshark. Life is good, thanks. Only occasionally dismayed by my erroneous impressions of what liberals should be like. More so now after reading some of the most idiotic posts I've read on this blog right here in this very thread. This is one to be saved.

Gravatar How dare the Communist News Network misslabel him as a democook!

Gravatar He secretly wishes he was a proud Democrat and not the lying sewer rat Repug. he really is.

Gravatar dennis youve got to get out of that cubicle son, go out get a beer , find a woman get laid and come on back to indiana and get some good bbq , screw the repig party you dont need to shill for them any more , alcoas hireing !

http://mediamatters.org/items/20...ms/ 200603280004

Gravatar ITS ALL ABOUT THE LIB BABY

Gravatar He doesn't "look" like a Republican, but he's the worst one of all; using blue and his pigment to fool voters into thinking he's not a GOP House 'N-word'.

Slime ball

Gravatar ....he Oreo cookie allegations remain unproven and are disputed by eyewitnesses to the debate at which the incident is alleged to have taken place. Initial news reports from the debate -- including statements by Steele himself -- made no mention of Oreo cookies. Additionally, eyewitnesses at the debate claim that the alleged Oreo incident never took place.....

OOOPS!!!!!!!!! Man, reich-wingers are always on the wrong side of every issue. Priceless

Gravatar These networks are obviously doing this on purpose and the FCC should pull their license for 6 month stretches for every offense.

Gravatar As an black male, I have absolutely Zero respect for black republicans. ZERO.

Gravatar As a black male, I have absolutely Zero respect for black republicans. ZERO. JohnnyBravo | 11.02.06 - 7:07 pm | #

Gravatar I saw the entire interview and didn't even notice that. It is ironic as the bulk of the interview was him speaking about how he was not running away from the Republican party.

Gravatar ty,
You're right. I'm going out for a nice long run and forget some of the ugliness I've read on this thread.

How's it going in the Indiana 9th District? Will it be Hostettler or Elsworth? The liberal with the (R) by his name or the conservative with the (L) by his name?

Gravatar "Yeah. The blue signs with no reference to party affiliation are really paying off."

That is a very good point. When you look at the screen capture, you have to admit there is an awful lot of blue in that picture. Even he is wearing mostly blue. Very odd.

Gravatar It servers Time Warner's "interests" to keep the Republican Fascists in power. Time Warner is getting paid big bucks from Energy companies and defense contractors. More deregulation means more money and less competition. The news knows what they are doing. They hardly make mistakes and they are playing politics themselves.

Learn the truth.

The Bush family were Nazi bankers.

http://www.politicalfriendster.c...-Herbert- Walker

Gravatar If anything, this is a good example of why labels are bad. Republican, Democrat, neither legally obligates a candidate to vote any particular on any particular issue.

Gravatar dennis hosteters getting rode out of this state on a brand new rail, sob ill miss his scraggly ass !!!and hopefully the rest of these scumbag rs with him !

Gravatar Just filed a complaint with the FCC requesting that they pull CNN's broadcasting license and I recommend you do the same. the email address is:

Gravatar Don't pull CNN's license. Then I can't watch Robin Meade in the mornings.

Gravatar dennis i think every body in the ninth district took viagra cause everyones got an erection for hosketter!

Gravatar "Just filed a complaint with the FCC requesting that they pull CNN's broadcasting license and I recommend you do the same. the email address is:"

I am sure they will get right on that. They are still investigating a tit from three years ago. Let's put things into perspective here.

Gravatar WTF?

These people get PAID to not know who's a Dem and who's a Repub?

We're doomed!

Gravatar And why is Michael Steele (REPUBLICAN) getting all this free airtime on national tv anyway? Except for the debate on MTP which they were BOTH on, I haven't seen Ben Cardin, the REAL Democrat on ANY of the cable "news" channels. NONE. That damn liberal media at it again!!

OF course, I don't watch 24/7, not anywhere near, but any time I've tuned in, I've only seen Steele (REPUBLICAN) and not even a mention of Cardin, The REAL (D), except to say that the race is getting tighter. Hmmmm.....Marlyand, mostly Democratic for years had big problems during the primaries, and now suddenly the race is getting closer???

Gravatar This is no honest mistake. The person who is responsible should be reprimanded for this!
People should not forget that Rove sought out Steele to run for this seat. Most things that happen in politics are surely planned.

Gravatar I wish I'd gone to journalism school. I'd love to have a job where I pull stuff out of my ass all day with no accountability or expectation of excellence. These guys at--

I think it's called profiling. Steele is a black and not an athlete, so he must be a Democrat.

Gravatar Here's an idea for anyone wanting to volunteer at the polls. Contact the Steele campaign and tell them that you will be a poll worker in a district other than your own and then don't show up.

Gravatar Just on more example after example of why 'The Daily Show' needs to be at least an hour long.

Gravatar Looks like an attempt at a sublimal campaign to me. Blue tie, blue in the shirt, blue jacket, blue signs.. Even fooled the graphics guys at CNN. The Reps are desperate, desperate, desperate..

Gravatar Hidell | 11.02.06 - 7:59 pm | #

Yup, blue everything is right, except I don't think it was a mistake. I think it's way more sinister than that. Who knows? Maybe Rove was behind it.

Gravatar I predict Steele will be swept up in the coming Republican debacle - Dead On Arrival. I was a Marylander a long time ago, in a galaxy far far away ... I think all of them lose in margins we can only dream about. Help me fellow Marylanders!

Gravatar You know I was complaining about this earlier, that michael steele has signs that says, steele democrat.no joke,he is trying to hide as a democrat.

Gravatar Look, let me be honest. The Republicans pushed for Steele because they want to split the African-American vote in Maryland, which is traditionally for the Democrats. This is how these rethug cretins "think." If you don't believe me, PG County has a contingency of African-American Democrats, crossing party lines to support Steele.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/ wp...6103001057.html

Repugs are using Steele for the African-American vote, and that is abhorrent. And, I'm a racially mixed, female; so, coming from two minority groups, I can not believe that Steele doesn't see it. Maybe he doesn't care.

Gravatar Ofcourse its all planned. All the Blue,The Steele Democrat stickers. The scary thing is that it might work.

Gravatar Smells like election fraud...

Gravatar Oreo! Black folk and enlightened white folk know a phoney when they see one.

Steele is a phoney and an oreo!

Gravatar "...The Republicans pushed for Steele because they want to split the African-American vote in Maryland..."
but it splits the Thug vote too. I read somewhere-heard somewhere-Thugs will SAY they'll vote for the black Thug, but will actually vote for the white dem. And the black people I know think black Thugs are batshit crazy insane. And disingenuous.

found a link to support my statement. Yay!

Gravatar I'm sure it was done on purpose, and sure that they'll be a (D) next to him at the ballot-box too...

Silly, silly people...

Gravatar Why allow the racial posts to stand, calling Michael Steele names and an "OREO"?

Gravatar Unlike the FOX/Foley thing, THIS one looks like an honest mistake. Wearing a blue jacket, and surrounded by a SEA of BLUE campaign signs, it almost looks like Steele is TRYING to be mistaken for a Democrat, and CNN fell for it. Maybe they're hoping that a lot of voters will make the same mistake.

Gravatar This is not accidental. CNN ought to be throttled, publically, now....

Gravatar that's no misprint

Gravatar it was done purposely... because someone thinks people are that stupid

Gravatar I emailed CNN and included this C&L link.

Gravatar ROTFL!!!! LMAO!!!! GREAT!!!!

Gravatar Gosh, you sure he's not a dem? That picture has a lot of blue (it's got to be on purpose!) and only a little red...
appropriately, the CNN sign!

Liberal media, indeed?

Gravatar This SOB will do anything to win. But when it comes down to what he stands for, he is just another lying ass Republican with Democratic appeal.

I suspect Steel will soon become a Democrat because I can also see this man hates to be on the wrong side. The Republicans should go to the "wrong side school." This line come to me while watching "Courage The Cowardly Dog show." Don't ever let it be said Democrats don't use facts to back their points up.

Joseph

Gravatar it was done purposely... because someone thinks people are that stupid
Kevin | 11.02.06 - 9:27 pm

Unfortunately Kevin, some people are that stupid.

Americans, sad to say are some of the stupidest people on the face of the planet.
I blame it not only on the schools but also the well orchestrated effort by politicians and the media to see that they remain that way.

Gravatar uhhhhhh.... am I the only one who thinks that if CNN doesn't even know what party canidates belong to then pehaps they are not the best source of campaign news? I didn't think so.

Gravatar Fox did it, why can't we?

Gravatar Didn't he have made bumper stickers that labeled himself a Democrat?

Gravatar I bet it was ROVE!!! What do you think? that guy is the devil man!!!

Gravatar Are the guys Fox is labeling wrong getting mad about it? Fox is very intentional when it does this.

Gravatar After reading this thread, I'm emptying my bank account and investing the whole thing in aluminum foil.

Gravatar "different kind of republican" no,
just a liar like the rest.

Gravatar Very interesting how quick you guys are to toss the Oreo term around

Gravatar i thought it was quite telling that all of steele's poster signs were BLUE, a guy behind him is wearing a BLUE cap, steele himself is wearing a large, BLUE jacket, a tie made of of different shades of BLUE, and a BLUE striped shirt.
...and then he's labeled as a dem. it's funny how all these republicans want to accidentally be misidentified these days, isn't it?

too funny.

Gravatar As a black conservative who voted for Gore while I was still a Democrat and later for Bush in 2004, I think I've seen both ends of the political spectrum. When I was a Democrat, I KNEW that the news media would support my guys through thick and thin, putting a bad spin on "The Gipper", "Star Wars" and "Evil Ken Starr". That's why I laugh when a channel like Fox brings libs blood to a boil. There are dozens of admittedly liberal newspapers while all three network newsrooms and CNN are. One dissenting voice is just too much?

Given the earlier oxymoron comments and others, is it any wonder an honest mistake was made regarding Steele's party affiliation? And by the way, does it really matter what his party is if he has good ideas? The Steele Democrat bumersticker, as confusing as it may be, is also a play on the old Reagan Democrat stickers of '84. If you saw the debate, you know Steele is the only one with ideas for Maryland.

Gravatar Wow. All the racism in here is chilling... and telling. No wonder we can't get our act together. So much for the tolerant left. It's people like many of you aspiring Amazing Racists that I figure I'll jump ship and vote Republican this time. I'd rather see the status quo continue than see what's in store for me and my family if a bunch of racist slime ends up running the show. It's pathetic and disgusting what I'm reading in here. Shameless bastards the lot of you.

Gravatar Before we condemn CNN, notice these fascinating details: All Steele's campaign signs are blue, and all Steele's clothing is blue. Also, the word "Republican" is nowhere to be seen in the background or on his person.

Blue color schemes are typically used by Democratic candidates.

It's as if Steele is trying to fool the public into thinking he is a Democrat. The camouflage was good enough to fool CNN.

Steele's opponent should send someone to follow him around with a big red sign that says, "Michael Steele is a Republican."

Gravatar With all of the blue in that screen capture, I would call it an honest mistake on CNN's part

Gravatar Zohar | Homepage | 11.03.06 - 1:21 am |
'No wonder we can't get our act together'

Nice try mister Trollman.

I can see the zipper from your ACME Wolf Disguise.

Please refrain from posing ( yes, posing as in faking ) like this. You add nothing to the discourse.

Gravatar CNN and FOX aren't having a hard time with labels. They'r e doing it on purpose. They think that it will convince voters that the person so labeled represent either the party to be blamed (in Foley/Hastert's case), or the candidate to trick uninformed and gullible voters to vote for the GOPer (Steele). Notice that there are never any corrections issued or offered. In essence, these are cynical insults of the electorate.

If CNN hasn't retracted this act of manipulative propagandizing by election night, the bloggers who are participlating in the CNN blog party need to call them on it. Be watching for thiskind of manipulation to continue. The FCC should be inundated with complaints over this deceptive kind of coverage.

Gravatar I live in Temple Hills, MD. As I look at that CNN pic, I have to wonder...are there 2 Temple Hills, in MD. The one I live in is 98% Black. All I see is white people behind steele and 1 black. ???

The truely sad part about this is most people around here get most of their news from TV so many are gonna be fooled into thinking this guy is a Democrat. (not that Dems are any better, for me Reps and dems are all equally worthless)

Hopefully people will be bright enough to spot this when they are voting and take note he is indeed a Republican and will rethink voting for him. I hate dems and reps, but these Bush connected Reps are the WORST. Id vote for Saddam before Id vote for one of them.

Gravatar blue signs, blue jacket, blue everywhere...

Gravatar Wow, I can't believe how racist and pathetic most of you are. You know what? Steele is an intelligent, black, Catholic Republican, and he's going to do a damned good job once elected. Deal with it, instead of sinking to racial slurs and bigotry. You're pathetic!!!

Gravatar Lt. Gov. Steele is intelligent, effective, and very capable. I live in Baltimore and am a Steele Democrat.

On behalf of Baltimore, and of Maryland, and of Steele Democrats, I am disgusted by your racism. You aren't going to keep everyone on your Democrat Plantation with this kind of racist crap. This kind of racist demagoguery is deeply bigoted. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Gravatar ?I also have a hard time believing a black man is a Republican too."
"a black republican = an oxymoron!"
"using blue and his pigment to fool voters into thinking he's not a GOP House 'N-word'."
"As an black male, I have absolutely Zero respect for black republicans. ZERO."

Ok, now I'm a mid-30's white male, Irish, Scottish, German, Dutch descent (I think, haven't bothered researching the specifics).

My question is, how should I be voting?

Apparently my voting should be determined solely by my skin pigmentation and group identity... I'm just trying to figure out which pigeonhole I should be forcibly crammed into.

Shouldn't I have to be a ReTHUGlican? Or am I allowed a choice that you'd deny a person with different pigmentation?

Gravatar You tin foil wearing "progressives" (wtf?) are so admirable for your all inclusive, understanding, non-judgemental, antiracist, open tent, pro-choice (as long as it concerns killing an unborn human), wellcoming attitude. What a bunch of HYPOCRATES!

Were we watching the same debate? Steele had absolutely nothing of substance to say. The Steele Democrat bumperstickers wouldn't be so bad if he had some Steele Republican bumperstickers to represent his true party. In that debate he said he had none. He's a fraud.

Gravatar And speaking of frauds, Exhibit B...

Lt.

MTM

With that plantation remark, you sound alot like Gingrich. You and Zahar are no Democrats. I can at least respect Black GOP for not trying to pass him off as a Dem.

Gravatar WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton drew criticism Tuesday for a Martin Luther King Jr. Day speech in which she told a mostly black audience at a Harlem church that Republican leaders have run the House "like a plantation" and the Bush administration will go down as "one of the worst" in U.S. history.

Gravatar "It's definitely using the race card. It definitely has racist connotations. She knows it," King said. "She knew the audience. She knew what she was trying to say, and it was wrong. And she should be ashamed."

Who's the racist?????

Gravatar Martin Luther King Jr. was a Republican.

Gravatar "It's definitely using the race card. It definitely has racist connotations. She knows it," King said. "She knew the audience. She knew what she was trying to say, and it was wrong. And she should be ashamed."

Who's the racist?????
bob

Hey Bobb-o, she said that in front of a black audience and they were not offended. Her speech was in reference to the way the repugs run Capitol Hill. One example would be holding votes at 3 am before everyone can read what's in the bill. Another example would be shutting Democrats out of the conference meetings in which bills passed by both chambers of Congress are ironed out so they are in the same form before Chimpy signs the bills into law.

It's very interesting you bring this up when in recent history, repugs have made it a point to disenfranchise minority voters in 2000, 2004 and today. Don't ever try to defend the repugs by playing the race card or accusing Democrats of racism. You will lose.

Gravatar The repugs will show me race isn't an issue for them when they stop employing the southern strategy and when they run more minority candidates for Governor or Senator in deep southern states like Mississippi and Alabama. Running an African American in northern blue states in which he or she can shave off points of the Democratic base doesn't impress me at all.

Gravatar Hey Einstein Maryland is south of the Mason-Dixon line. Making it a SOUTHERN STATE.
I'm so sick of the word "disenfranchise". If you are too stupid to know how, where and when to vote you just fulfill your voting destiny.
Also I believe J.C. Watts was from......Oh yes Oaklahoma.
What southern strategy do the moonbats subscribe too?
Oh yes they elect a former head of the Ku-Klux-Klan Robbie "sheets" Byrd. The supposed "conscience" of the senate! Now thats is some strategy!!

Gravatar Byrd joined the Ku Klux Klan, which he had seen holding parades in Matoaka, West Virginia, as a child. His father had also been a Klan member[3]. Byrd was unanimously elected to be the leader, known as the Exalted Cyclops, of his local chapter.[4]

According to Byrd's recollection, Baskin told him, "You have a talent for leadership, Bob... The country needs young men like you in the leadership of the nation." Byrd recalls that "suddenly lights flashed in my mind! Someone important had recognized my abilities. I was only 23 or 24, and the thought of a political career had never struck me. But strike me that night, it did."[4] He participated in the KKK for a period of time during World War II, holding the titles "Kleagle", which indicated a Klan recruiter, and "Exalted Cyclops". Byrd did not serve in the military during the war, working instead as a welder in a Baltimore shipyard, assembling warships.

Byrd commented on the 1945 controversy raging over the idea of racially integrating the military. In his book When Jim Crow Met John Bull, Graham Smith referred to a letter written that year by Byrd, when he was 28 years old, to segregationist Senator Theodore Bilbo of Mississippi, in which Byrd vowed never to fight:

"with a Negro by my side. Rather I should die a thousand times, and see Old Glory trampled in the dirt never to rise again, than to see this beloved land of ours become degraded by race mongrels, a throwback to the blackest specimen from the wilds."

You are truly an Idiot's idiot.

Gravatar Hey Einstein Maryland is south of the Mason-Dixon line. Making it a SOUTHERN STATE.

Hey genius, do you have a problem with reading comprehension? I said DEEP southern state and even gave you 2 examples of what I meant with Mississippi and Alabama.

Maryland is not a deep southern state. Anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together would know that. I know you're about one and a half brain cells short of the requirement, but try to keep up, idiot.

I'm so sick of the word "disenfranchise". If you are too stupid to know how, where and when to vote you just fulfill your voting destiny.

First off, misinforming people about the proper polling location is only one example. Seriously what does it say about a party that makes it a point to tell people the wrong polling location? That's not democratic in the least bit. Another example would be faulty felons lists that knocked thousands of innocent, eligible voters off the voter rolls who happened to be minorities and likely to vote Democratic. Also, I can point to the short changing of districts likely to vote Democratic of enough voting machines while Republican districts in the same state had an abundance. Want more examples?

Also I believe J.C. Watts was from......Oh yes Oaklahoma.

Yes, I believe JC Watts held ONE district in Oklahoma and has been out of Congress for how many years? Not to mention, I specifically said statewide offices in the deep south such as Governor or Senator. Why would you bring up a former Congressman as an example? You can't be serious. Try again dipshit.

What southern strategy do the moonbats subscribe too?

I'm no moonbat, but it would be the same southern strategy that Ken Mehlman apologized to the NAACP for employing just last year. One example would be Ronald Reagan announcing his campaign for President in Philadelphia, Mississippi a town in which three civil rights activists were murdered saying he believed in states rights.

You can still see examples of the southern strategy today in the RNC ad against Ford in Tennessee which had to be pulled.

Oh yes they elect a former head of the Ku-Klux-Klan Robbie "sheets" Byrd. The supposed "conscience" of the senate! Now thats is some strategy!!

As for Byrd, he has renounced his affiliation with the Klan and says that is the single biggest mistake he's ever made. He has since that time had one of the most pro-civil rights voting records in the Senate. That is why he is the conscience of the Senate because he was a big enough person to see the error of his ways.

Keep talking about Byrd while Jesse Helms to this day says he does not regret his votes against civil rights legislation.

Go ahead and talk about Byrd, a reformed racist while George Allen takes pictures with members of the hate group the Council of Conservative Citizens and slurs a kid who happens to have been born in Virginia but with brown skin.

I already told you before, you and repugs will lose on the race issue. I hope this isn't your best shot, I'll be waiting.

Gravatar bob | 11.04.06 - 12:59 pm |

And you are a moron of the highest caliber. Byrd quit the Klan and has changed his ways long before I was even born.

The NAACP gave Byrd a 100% rating on his civil rights voting record in the 108th Congress which ended last year.

Do you realize how pathetic you are?You have to go back to quotes from 1945!! Please reply again!!

Gravatar I said it before and I'll say it again-

You tin foil wearing "progressives" (wtf?) are so admirable for your all inclusive, understanding, non-judgemental, antiracist, open tent, pro-choice (as long as it concerns killing an unborn human), wellcoming attitude. What a bunch of HYPOCRITES!

You trully are a dying party and if you were true to your beliefs you would pull your own plug and spare us your dying throes of agony.
Can't wait till wednesday "mourning"

Gravatar [Refers to a deleted post]

And we've got another mouth breathing conservative moron talking about Byrd. Hey formerdem-current scumbag, no matter how you try to spin a 5 year old quote, it does not trump Byrd's voting record for the past 3 decades or his rating from the NAACP as recently as last year. If Byrd were still a racist, he could've easily left the Democratic party after the Civil Rights Act passed just like Jesse Helms, who found a home in the repug party. He's had a change of heart. I'd love to see how your friendly neighborhood conservative senator's civil rights voting record matches up against Byrd.

[Refers to a deleted post]

I could care less what you think about Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. They don't hold office now and have never been elected. Why would you even bring them into the mix?

[Refers to a deleted post]

Tell me race isn't an issue with repugs while they run racially tinged ads against Harold Ford as recently as a couple of weeks ago. What demographic do you think those ads appealed to? And to think Mehlman as recently as last year apologized for the southern strategy. You repugs are a joke.

Talk to me about race when George Allen slurs a kid 3 months ago with the equivalent of the n word from his mother's country. He did it with a smile and applause from the audience. That's pretty telling to me.

Tell me race isn't an issue with repugs while they make it a point to disenfranchise minority voters. Ask Choicepoint about the accuracy of their felons list in Florida.

What about Massachussetts? They're about to elect their first black governor. Of course he's a Democrat and the repugs pulled every Willie Horton style dirty trick in the book to bring him down. If that's where you are, then you know how disgusting the ads were, but it's not working. Patrick is going to eath Healy's lunch come Tuesday and I will be LMAO!!

You're real loose with using the n word there. What's the reason? Am I supposed to be impressed or something?

That's really pitiful, bobb-o. I replied to every one of your points and instead of answering my points
(I knew you couldn't) all you can do is requote yourself as if you said something articulate. I'm beginning to feel sorry for you dude.

Let me clue you into something,
"winning" an election doesn't necessarily put you on the right side of history. The chimp is in the white house now and he's already considered a failure. You probably voted for him twice didn't you? LOL

Gravatar Siteadmin, I was wrong for quoting him.

Hey currentIdiot, that's what you get for posting ignorance. Try to find a way to articulate your point without the racially charged words next time.
