Gravatar horray

Gravatar he's done, buh bye!

Gravatar when it rains it pours! Thank you GOD!!!

Gravatar Party at my house, you're all invited!!!

Gravatar Good riddance to a bad bad man.

Gravatar Rumsfeld resigns.

Now for W and Cheney to do the right thing.

Resign in disgrace!

Gravatar I'm havin one

Gravatar WOW! Could this day get any better??

Gravatar Let's not forget that Montana was just called for Tester too!!! The Senate is all but ours!

Gravatar wow.

Gravatar Free at last, free at last...

Gravatar YES!! Bye Bye Rummy!

Gravatar lets not forget rummy , when the trials start!

Gravatar Henny Penny, the sky must be falling....

Gravatar bu bye don! dont let the door hit ya in the ass on the way out.

menawhile,
they have totally gone around the bend over at the corner. highly recommended.

Thinking Outside of the Box [Jonah Goldberg]

If memory serves, the Speaker of the House need not be an elected Representative. I think the Democrats would solidify their image as the real party of change if they put, say, Oprah, Katie Courice, or Carrot Top in there. Gallagher would be good too, he could use the gavel to smash a watermelon at the opening of every proceeding

Gravatar greg, where do you live!

Gravatar greg, where do you live!

Gravatar so do they offer the post to Lieberman now? to try to swing the Senate back to the GOP?

Gravatar Our long national nightmare is over.

Congratulations on a successful Operation American Freedom! (can't recall who to credit for that one)

Gravatar How does this affect his ability to testify in front of Congress? Will he be able to refuse?

Does the administration KNOW it would be worse if he was the sitting Sec Def while having to answer questions in front of a Dem House panel?

Gravatar Lie-berman will be the next Sec Defense. Ct governor to appoint new Repub Senator

Gravatar Headed for some South American country without extradition treaties, Rummy? Won't help. the Hague can get you wherever you run off to.

Gravatar What a bizarre way for the White House to steal the headlines from the Democrats today ...

Gravatar I hope they handcuff him and take him for a perp walk.

Gravatar Wait... if Rummy goes, what crazy assed person will they replace him with?

Gravatar I'd rather he step into a prison.

Gravatar let's not party too hard..remember, he can now escape subpoena and not have to answer the new Dem. Majority.

Gravatar See ya Rummy. And DO let the door hit you in the ass on the way out.

Gravatar Does Chimpy now appoint LIEberman Secy of Defense, as had been rumored? Who replaces Kissin' Joe if this is true?

Gravatar Why am I hearing Chief Wiggums singing along to Bob Marley's, "Jammin'"?

Gravatar Don't let the door hit ya in the ass mother fucker!

Gravatar The state of the ex-senator Santorum, PA.

Gravatar Bush voted for Rumsfeld before he voted against Rumsfeld!

LOL So long, Rummy!

Is this a way to avoid subpoenae?

Gravatar Bush has accepted his resignation, I hope. Rumsfeld may hand in his resignation but if Bush won't accept it......

Gravatar Good News!

Gravatar Robert gates to take his pllace

Gravatar Insane egomania always results in failure.

von Rumsfeld always, always knew best, not matter how massive the failure.

Gravatar Yes! Preznit accepted Rummy's resignation

Gravatar Def. a move to swing the Senate back to the GOP--they'll replace him with Lieberman and Jodi Rell, Republican CT Gov, will appoint a Republican replacement, possibly Chris Shays.

Gravatar MSNBC: Robert Gates will replace Dumbsfeld

Gravatar LOL! This Bush guy is amazing!

On the very day the big news should be HIM asking for America's forgiveness for getting it so wrong on so many issues that his Republican Party lost it all, he trots out RUMSFELD to take the blame for it!

Ol' Pass The Buck Of Blame Bush never fails to live up to his well-earned reputation.

Gravatar Does it bother anyone else that Pelosi KEEPS repeating that "impeachment is OFF the table"?
I mean I understand that the Dems can't and shouldn't go running down the halls of the senate and congress wildly screaming "IMPEACHMENT NOW"..... BUT to say it's off the table is kind of putting the horse before the cart isn't it? I mean what happens if we have senate investigations that clearly reveal that Bush and company flat out lied to us AND we can prove it? Is impeachment (as Pelosi says) STILL off the table? I wish she would just say "Were going to go wherever the truth leads us".

Gravatar Robert Gates is the former CIA Director

Gravatar I heard at the Al Franken Show that Tester has been declared the winner by Fox News

Gravatar Remember this gem from Rummy:

"As we know, there are known knowns. And there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns. That is to say we know there are some things we do not know, but there are also unknown unknowns, the ones we don't know we don't know."

Well one thing we know is the door is gonna hit you in the ass on the way out ya putz.

Gravatar It's a good start!

Gravatar HECKUVA JOB, RUMMY!

BRING BACK COLIN POWELL!

You know, the one who you RIDICULED, FUCKED OVER and IGNORED!

The Powell Doctrine was the one thing that would have kept us out of this snakepit in Iraq - and the Neo-Cons just wanted to re-write history and live in their own little world of delusion...

Well now they just got a smack in the face with the wet rag of reality... about time they smell the shit they've been shoveling on us for years now.

Gravatar excuse my permagrin...

rummy the terrible is no more

Gravatar congratulations to liberscum our new defence secratary for the defence of israel!

Gravatar Woohooooo!!!!!!

Gravatar Yeah , it was all Rummy's fault. He's the one who wanted to go to war. Yeah, he's the one who's responsible for all this, not me. Yeah, that's the ticket...

Gravatar OK, there goes my diet.
I have a bottle of champers and its gonna be opened the minute my husband gets home.

Gravatar You think there was a political side to the timing?

Gosh, yes.

Gravatar Bush is SCARED SHITLESS!

Gravatar Here comes W..... can't wait to hear what kind of spin he has for this!

Gravatar They should make Nov 8th a national holiday!

It's like the Berlin Wall being torn down or something.

Gravatar TEXASexy | 11.08.06 - 1:00 pm | #

Gravatar We still have to prosecute this bastard for war crimes!

Gravatar Christmas is a month early!

Horray!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gravatar NOT good enough, Prez Cheney and his lap dog Bush must resign too!

Gravatar This is Rumsfeld's best pre-emptive move so far.

Gravatar Repugs have just assured themselves the Senate: Bush appoints Lieberman to replace Rummy, CT governer (R-Rell) appoints new Senator. Am I wrong??

Gravatar Now, that's the best thing that's happened to the Pentagon in a long time!

Gravatar Eric

I just read a similar thought on another site. I want to scream BECAUSE that seems like the logical step in Bush/Cheney retaining power in the Senate. AND it is mighty suspicious coming right on the heels of the Montana victory.

I only have one burning desire now, I hope Rove, Bush and Cheney burn in hell forever.

Gravatar Rumsfeld's "To Do" list:

1. Shred documents.
2. Submit resination.
3. Purchase one way ticket to

MSNBC: Robert Gates will replace Dumbsfeld

Gravatar I only wish that Harold Ford could have one that Senate race in TN.

Gravatar Actually this is not good since the republican strategy is to most likely court Lieberman for SoD and try to break the gridlock in the senate and regain control.

Only reason I see why Rummy would resign.

It's better to be cautious and not look a gift horse in the mouth, at least not yet.

Gravatar Part of a series (attached Jpeg)

Gravatar Does anybody else hear the heckler on MSNBC singing "Hey hey hey, Goodbye" behind the reporter? LOL

Gravatar There he goes with the drapes.... What an asshole!

Gravatar John Podhoretz's headline in the NY Post this morning - "Bush's Presidency Ended Last Night" - guess Rumsfeld took it literally.

Gravatar This had *nothing* to do with the elections on Tuesday.

It had everything to do with Saddam Hussein, his military weapons and WMD customer, being convicted on Sunday.

WMD = W. misses Donald ^_^

Gravatar Dee | 11.08.06 - 1:04 pm | #

If I ever said a stupid statement like Rummy did at my job, my boss would say "Are you on crack?" and "You're fired."

Gravatar Does anybody else hear the heckler on MSNBC singing "Hey hey hey, Goodbye" behind the reporter? LOL
Clavis | 11.08.06 - 1:09 pm

Even Noron heard it and commented on it! LOL!! It was great to hear!

Gravatar You know, at first I was elated with the news, but with the Senate looking good for the Dems, I wouldn’t be surprised if Bush appoints Lieberman, which will then mean that the Connecticut governor (a Repug) will be able to appoint a Repug to the Senate - there goes our majority. That would be Joe’s ultimate F**K you to his constituents and to the American people. I fervently hope this doesn’t happen but I’m afraid that this scenario is a distinct possibility.

Gravatar The politically savvy thing to do would be for the Democrats to say how "irresponsibe" it is to have Rummy quit now when Congress is in recess and a replacement can't be vetted by the Senate. "Bush should have fired him when we were in session in order to allow a rapid succession in a time of war."

Gravatar So what if they grab Lieberman as SecDef? We didn't think we were going to get the Senate, anyway!

Stop being so damned pessimistic. The Bush Administration is flapping around like a goldfish on a hotplate.

Gravatar Woot! Woot!

Gravatar This link will make this much funnier:

Gravatar "WASHINGTON (AP) -- Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld, architect of an unpopular war in Iraq, intends to resign after six stormy years at the Pentagon, Republican officials said Wednesday".

"Officials said Robert Gates, former head of the CIA, would replace Rumsfeld"

I don't think we have to worry about Liebermann going to the White House.

Gravatar HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE CHICKENS HAVE COME HOME TO ROOST!

:P

Gravatar Bush just named Gates as his choice... Relax guys!

Gravatar This is GREAT news for our troops, our country, and the world.

But one has to ask, why did it take us, why did it take Bush, so long with so much destruction to take action, to change the course of disaster. Rumsfelf leadership was a terrible debacle. In the past, the worse a person did, the more accolades Bush gave them, even medals.

Bush is all talk about preemptive, could he not have been preemptive over this disaster?

--

Gravatar Bush: Robert Gates to be Sec of Defense. LIEberman will NOT be, ok?

Gravatar Who's Bob Gates?

Gravatar That subpoena power that Dems have is really scaring the Republicons. Its funny that one election did what 6 years of asking, begging, demanding, wishing, and praying couldn't.

Get rid of Rumsfield

Gravatar Well, THAT was quick!

Gravatar Could he have acted in a way that made him look even more as the talk-the-talk not walking-the-walk slimeball coward he is???
Don't think so. As long as he could stand safe behind the rest of the fascists he was all macho, now he is the first rat jumping the ship.
Actually I don't think they should let him. Send him to Iraq to clean up his own mess...

Gravatar HECKUVA JOB!!!!

Gravatar Watchin' Bush right now. Just asked the troops not to worry about Dems in power.

Whatta presumptuous ass.

Gravatar Wiki Robert Gates!

I can't believe how many people are asking "Who's Bob Gates?" Google, anyone? Wiki? AskJeeves? WTF?

Gravatar Sounds like Bush, in announcing Rumsfeld's resignation, is almost making a concession speach.

Gravatar Robt Gates is announced as Secry Defense appointee.

great, another former CIA stooge and Council on Foreign Relations stooge.

Wake up. they all - ALL of them - are on the same team, even highly placed Democrats such as Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, Clinton.

Gravatar Wait a minute. What? He can't just resign! That's cutting and running. WTF?

Gravatar So Bush now can appoint Joe Lieberman
Secretary of Defense and the Connecticut Governor Rell can appoint a Republican Senate replacement.

So even if we take Va. this move put the Senate at 50/50 again with Cheney the tie breaker.

What a nightmare. It might even happen.

Gravatar Yeah casey, it's amazing what a little pressure to the scrotal sac can do for a pissy attitude.

Gravatar This is so fishy.......Bush was just saying last week he had no intentions of letting Rummy go, now all of the sudden he's resigning. Sounds to me like there is some dealing going on already. Did Pelosi say "hey Monkey-butt, you get rid of rummy maybe I won't investigate this or that."

HMMMMMMMM.

Gravatar O.M.G.!!! Things are getting better by the min.!!! I can count on one hand the times I've commented here, plus Americablog and Newshounds, but I come here to read all of your comments. Reading them the past few years have made me feel I havn't been alone. It hasn't been very good since Bush first became pres. in 2000 and was even more heartbreaking in 2004. I'm not a smart person, esspecially whaere politics are concerned, but MY GOD!! I knew from the beginning that this admin. was corrupt and downright vicious including the followeres. Just plain mean, awful human beings!! My bloodpreasure skyrockets just looking at sean hannitys fake, fake concerned look face and listening to him repeathis same vicious attacks on such heros as Jack Murtha and a grieving mother as cindy. I don't think I could of stood tuning in the next few years if we didn't pull through! Your comments got me through some very dark times. Some of you are hilarious, some are right on the mark, some of you have brought tears, and yes, even the "trolls" bring me comic relief. Thank you all!! Things are looking so bright, I got to wear shades!!!

Gravatar how serious is the Robert Gates rumour? I thought for sure this was all about recapturing the Senate, as mentioned above.

Gravatar More about Bob Gates.

Gravatar Ding dong... and so on.

Gravatar Clavis, we know he's CIA and Texas A&M but is he another brown noser or will he really do something for the American people?

Gravatar err, did bush just say he lied delibrately when he said rumsfeld was going to stay on?

Gravatar casey & Strawberry-

Then came the questions from the press, and Bush's "presidential" aura melted away like marzipan in a rain shower.

Gravatar The question: Should we block Gates nomination?

Gravatar maybe with the Robt Gates appointment -- the influence of Bush1 will start to emerge....? here comes Brent Scowcroft..yeehah......

Gravatar David Gregory just asked a killer question to VP Bush about Cheney's "full-speed ahead" re: Iraq

Gravatar I swear I just heard Bush say he didn't want to come clean about his plans for Rumsfeld before the election because he didn't want to effect the outcome of it with the news.

But I suppose Clinton declaring war on..."some country"...in response to the USS Cole attack a few weeks before the 2000 election would have been the "responsible" thing to do, right, GOP?

Gravatar As promised in earlier comments,

I will now bust out with my Cuban cigars and will "pop" the "cherry" on a bottle of Merlot I've been keeping safe for a moment of celebration!

Who's your DADDY, Rumi!!!

Gravatar With Tester the declared winner now and Webb more than likely defeating Allen, the Senate can now do its duty and start putting some controls on this train wreck of an administration. Specifically they should start some oversight on the wiretapping programs, stop torture, and restore habeus corpus.

Or was it just the NBC feed?

Gravatar i can only imagine the rage the GOP losers from yesterday must feel at bush. they must be screaming "why get rid of rumsfeld now?!? why not last month!?!"

bush really screwed his own party. he could have replaced rummy BEFORE the election and helped some of the close races. but no, he wasn't going to give an inch unless forced to. story of his presidency i guess. (that and being a war criminal)

some loyalty.

Gravatar Oh yeah Bush - you want it to be all bi-fucking-partisan NOW, don't you?

What Bush is saying inside his head:
"I hate my father. I HATE my father. I fuckin' HATE my father. I FUCKIN HATE my father..."

Gravatar Rummy's press conference:

Am I being used as a scapegoat for GOP failures in the election?

Yes, but a lot of it is my fault anyway.

Am I headed to Paraguay to start clearing brush on the new Bush ranch?

Yes, I will be leaving soon.

Am I actually fleeing the country to avoid possible war crime trials?

Gravatar Listening to this press conference is like listening to a kid whose mom just caught him masturbating. Bush sounds testy, perhaps humbled

Gravatar Bush 41 HAS GOT TO BE BEHIND THIS NOMINATION.

GHW Bush is actually the ACTING PRESIDENT.

READ THIS:

Robert Gates is a career Soviet analyst and former Deputy Director of the CIA who was wrong about what CIA analyst Harold Ford described as `the central analytic target of the past few years: the probable fortunes of the USSR and the Soviet European bloc.' And I believe that the committee report points out one possible reason why the CIA failed to predict the collapse of the Soviet Union. According to testimony, Mr. Gates was busy pursuing hypotheses and making unsubstantiated arguments attempting to show Soviet expansion in the Third World, instead of looking for or paying attention to facts that pointed in the opposite direction. Why? Why, as Mentor Moynihan has pointed out, was the CIA able to tell Presidents everything about the Soviet Union except the fact that it was falling apart?

Mr. Gates was also wrong about the Soviet threat to Iran in 1985. The 1985 Special National Intelligence Estimate on Iran stressed possible Soviet inroads into Iran. Gates admits that the analysis was an anomaly. It was a clear departure from previous analyses and almost immediately proven wrong by subsequent events. Gates was involved in preparing that analysis. According to Hal Ford, whose testimony the nominee never refuted, Gates leaned heavily on the Iran Estimate, in effect, `insisting on his own views and discouraging dissent.' What was the result? The 1985 estimate was skewed and contributed to the biggest foreign policy debacle of the Reagan administration, the sale of arms to Iran.

http://www.fas.org/irp/congress/...11107- gates.htm

Bush 41 is still fighting the last 2 wars, and calling on his CIA insiders and co-conspirators to run this country.

Hell...Ollie North was just down in Nicaragua trying to defeat Ortega in that election!

What decade is this?

If the first thought that came to my mind was "what the f*ck does he know about either?," does that make me a bad person?

Didn't someone post that at the LMNC about 11.5 hrs ago? Hmmmm....
-------------------------------
As to the bleep: I think it was a technical glitch.

There would have been a pregnant hush from the press throng if Bush'd gone to workin' blue.

Gravatar I wish I could take a big shit in
another country and leave the mess
without any accountablility.
good ridence.....the fascist bastard!

Gravatar I wonder if there will be sufficent numbers of persons for Rummy to torture and kill at his retirement home.

Gravatar "Does it bother anyone else that Pelosi KEEPS repeating that "impeachment is OFF the table"?..."

Not me. She can always call for investigations of any number of Bush fuck-ups that the GOP refused to investigate and thus find 'new' information that will put impeachment back on the table.

Gravatar set up investigations on why the major news stations are not reporting real news!!!

Gravatar That's LNMC(Late Night Music Club).

Gravatar "PELOSI is an anti impeachment candidate. Why is it assumed that she is the only candidate here?"

BECAUSE SHES THE ONLY LOGICAL CHOSE. BESIDES JACK MURTHA!!

Gravatar Rummy is the Frist casualty of the election. Buckle up repugs.

There's a new sheriff in town and you may address HER as Madame Speaker!!!

Gravatar Bush sounds congested today - that's what happens when you spend all night crying your eyes out.

Gravatar did he cut and run?

Gravatar He is still paraphrasing...
STAY THE COURSE!

Gravatar PELOSI IS SOFT ON IMPEACHMENT!!

Gravatar Guess who's going to be cutting a whole lotta shrub over the next two years?

TODAY IN A GREAT DAY FOR ALL AMERICANS (including those who must atone).

Gravatar what is this?

CHRISTMAS DAY?

i love you all!

we did it!

Gravatar Welcome to "Bush I Redux."

Gravatar did he cut and run?

No, he tortured and hid.

Gravatar YOU DID IT!....yes you BLOGGERS have changed the whole country for the better....BLOGGER POWER....thanks to all of you.

Gravatar Did MSNBC just bleep the President? LOL

Gravatar After Robert Gates turns down the offer, we'll probably get Death Squad Negroponte as the next Sec of Defense.

Gravatar A replacement for Rummy already? But wasn't it only yesterday that he was doing a 'fantastic job', and would be SecDef for life?

You mean Bush lied to us?

Nurse!

Gravatar I would kick Bush right in the ass if he were here in this room for "assuring" the troops that they will still be protected, and that the troops wonder "if they will still get the support they need" after this election.

Gravatar He's stepping down because he's a war criminal, and someone might actually hold him accountable for the crimes he's committed.

Gravatar Death Squad Negroponte Weaseldog? No different than Rummy in my opinion. Same shit, different asshole.

Gravatar Ding dong, the witch is dead!

Gravatar You mean Bush lied to us?

Gravatar OK enough
who is this guy and what have they done with our smirking strutting little hardass of a preznit?

Gravatar "Did MSNBC just bleep the President? LOL"

I thought I heard the same thing. What the hell did they bleep?

Gravatar Did anyone besides John Aravosis noticed that Bush has lied again about Rummy? He was going to keep rummy 2 years more, and now he's waffling saying he didn't want to influence the election?

That means Bush is lying about his lying. This bush lie business is getting Zen like!

Gravatar So what if impeachment is off the table, so long as oversight inquiries get rolling? If even the veneer of bush Laden's exploits get revealed, he's going to have a whole lot of ex-marines looking to smoke him outta his cave.

I just wonder how long will it be before bushy Laden cries and wets himself?

Gravatar Hey Kevin, nice...too funny, I hope my kids' Master doesn't teach them that move, I might never become a grandma.

Gravatar Nothing changes

Gravatar Acrid! "I was busier working on the election, than he was." A slam on Rove over his winning the "reading" contest!

Gravatar Reporter, "You say you want to work together with the democrats in a bitpartisan way but two days ago you said that voting for democrats was a vote for terrorist victory, what changed?"

Bush, "What happened is we had an election and the democrats won".

lol

Gravatar HOLY CRAP!!

George about Rove in the conference just now:

"I was working harder during the elections than he was"

Gravatar "You get criticized from all sides in this job"

Yeah, you do when you are a blatant fuck up. If you were comptent in your job, wouldn't catch so much criticism.

Gravatar Whoa, Jeff Gannon looks good in drag!

Gravatar If Bush lies about a lie, and then lies to cover up the lie that he lied, does that mean that the lie that he lied about when he was lieing about the first lie make the other lie still a lie?

Just wondering.

Gravatar Mr. Secretary, you have the thanks of a grateful nation. Unfortunately, that nation is Iran.

You may now be excused. Please pick up your Medal of Freedom on the way out.

That is all.

Gravatar It's so hard to watch this lie-monkey, I just keep screaming LIAR! at the TV.

Gravatar Pelosi is a politician. She knows the majority of people don't want to hear about impeachment right now, at this time. She is making all the nice comments about bipartisanship and non-impeachment. But don't forget, tomorrow's another day as Scarlett O'Hara said. If she authorizes investigations that bring new information to light, she can say "Well, this is different. When I said 'impeachment is off the table', we didn't have this information'."

Maybe she will, maybe she won't. You can't really say.

Gravatar Man, this day is just getting better by the minute. Rot in hell you piece of shit!

Gravatar Did Bush just use the "F" word?

MSNBC bleeped him at the 1:16-1:18pm EST mark.

Gravatar Did you catch that female reporter asking a Gannon-like question about Nancy Pelosi? I swear, it sounded like the end of her question was going to be "How can you hope to work with people so divorced from reality?"

Gravatar Headlines tomorrow:

Gravatar WTF is Bush rambling about?

Gravatar The Lies of George Bush:

LIE: Mission Accomplished: May 2, 2003
FACT: Still there, still fighting: Today

LIE: I will bring honor and integrity back to the White House.
FACT: We have never had a less honorable president, or administration.

LIE: 51% is a Mandate!
FACT: James Guckert was the only MANdate you've had in office, George.

LIE: I never said stay the course!
FACT: You said stay the course about a thousand times. Per speech.

LIE: Brownie is doing a heck of a job!
FACT: New Orleans DROWNED.

LIE: Rumsfeld will remain as Secretary of Defense for the next two years.
FACT: Rumsfeld didn't make through the week.

All George Bush and the Republican Perverts know how to do is lie. And spin. And Cheat. And distort. And LOSE.

Gravatar Transcendental Syllogism:

(minor premise) Rumsfeld is stepping down.

Gravatar Back to Gates.

Kinda scary-former deputy spook takes helm at DoD: more intel responsibility to DIA?

Gravatar Jeez Wren, after six years of this twit in office, you'd think you know better than ask a question like that.

Gravatar Jeff Gannon-like question

"Mr President, now that the Defeatocrats are in charge, will you act strongly and resolutely to protect our troops? Will you continue to fight, rather than surrender to the terrorists?"

hahahaha

Gravatar The new SecDef is Robert Gates, Bush 41's CIA director.

It frickin' figures. When the going gets tough, 43 runs to one of Daddy's loyal retainers.

Stay tuned for the new plan for Iraq, courtesy of James Baker - the Bush family's janitor and fixer in chief.

Gravatar FUNNY QUOTE OF THE DAY:

And Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist...issued a statement saying, "Washington must now work together in a bipartisan way — Republicans and Democrats — to outline the path to success in Iraq."

Wasn't this the same guy that wanted to exercise the Nuclear Option?

Gravatar Good question!
"Are you out of touch after 6 years in office?"

Gravatar Fine but think people: If you start impeachment investigations against Bush, I bet you lose a third of the corrupt democrats that side with him. Therefore PELOSI is unwilling to IMPEACH. Find someone other than PELOSI and really clean house effectively. Leave PELOSI in, and you get same &%$#, different wrapper. And now they are having the BAKER commission - a great old whitewash on the lead into Iraq - they're joking right? BAKER is a lawyer for Exxon and the Saudi royal family...come on.

Gravatar who just heard that reports question?

Gravatar bush reminds me of a "perp" yappin away "non-sense", AFTER their caught fleeing from the police, on "COPS".

Gravatar I can't wait to see what Jon Stewart and Bill Maher has to say about this.

Gravatar BIPARTISAN? Wait, this little F**KWAD tells his base that if you elect democrats the terrorists win and NOW he wants to play nice? Excuse me while I go kick my neighbor's dog.

Gravatar I'm so happy I'm gonna cry!!!!

Who's next? I say Bolton, then Condie, then Dick!

Does that combat veterans can sue him in civil court?

Gravatar rummy's replacement, robert gates:

"According to Mr. Goodman [melvin goodman, former cia station chief and a damn good man], Mr. Gates was Mr. Casey's chief agent inside the CIA in intimidating analysts into produce slanted reports - especially on Iran, Nicaragua and Afghanistan. Mr. Gates was then the deputy CIA director and is currently the deputy national security adviser to President George Bush.
.
"Gates's role was to corrupt the process and the ethics of intelligence" in several key areas of CIA concern, Mr. Goodman said. Mr. Gates, he said, "was Casey's filter" and "pandered to Casey's agenda."
.
But Mr. Goodman contended that "Casey and Gates arrogated to themselves the power to make intelligence judgments."
.
"They damaged the integrity of that process and the integrity of the CIA," he added. "Frankly, I worry about the effect of returning Gates to the environment he created."

http://www.iht.com/articles/1991.../10/02/ cia_.php

i am just learning about gates. i am familiar with melvin goodman (friend of a friend) and he is one of the good guys and i trust his judgement on internal cia affairs more than most other cia employees.

Gravatar I am watching George W. Bush coming totally unerved in this press conference. He's disconnected & scared shitless. He sounds like an "anxious", pathetic, incompetent & ignorant fool.
Once and for all, the Real GWB shows himself to be the fool who's in way over his head.
It's a thing of beauty!

Gravatar I HEAR TACO BELL IS HIRING, RUMMY.

Gravatar i couldn't be effin happier that rummy resigns in shame, his name forever tied to lies, failure, shame, disgrace and crimes. just know, donny rummy, that for generations kids will be reading about your utter and complete failure as a human in their textbooks. sucks to be rummy.

americans: no longer rumfucks.

Gravatar i heard the beep too on NPR...could anyone read his lips?

Gravatar Oh that's it. *Bush* is talking about *Democrats* not having proper equipment?! Who isn't providing proper armor for our troops, f*cktard...

Gravatar "If the question you're asking is if I'm seeking new opportunities elsewhere, then the answer is 'yes.'

If you're asking am I resigning in disgrace with all the aplomb of a naked man covered in his own filth being asked to leave a church after bathing in the baptismal font, then... maybe?"

Good riddance, Rummy. I hope you find yourself alone in a dark alley with a bunch of Iraq War vets.

Gravatar Well Bastet, I'd argue that Negroponte is worse than Rummy.

When has Bush make a change in his administration that has led to better things?

I got nothing. In fact, he seems to have a propensity to make things worse with each change up. Like he's mumbling to himself, "Hrmm, that isn't F#$%ed up enough. Who could I appoint to make it worse?"

I hope the Dems start looking for indictments, but Pelosi isn't giving me confidence. Its been argued that there's more than a few Democrats that have profited from Iraq, such that they'd be at risk if investigations started. When the push to war started a majority bought the lies and got on board. No bid contracts were handed out to Democratic leaders as a way of throwing them a bone. They may be seen as culpable now.

It would be really cool, if this notion was turned on its head. But Pelosi is indicating to me that there's a back story we're not hearing. The White House has committed horrible war crimes, it is unthinkable to me, not to move for impeachment and removal. If this is off the table, then I can't help but wonder why.

Why should more people die to continue business as usual. Hundreds of thousands of more Iraqis will die before this war is ended. And we aren't likely to see the beginning of the end until after 2008, if Bush is not leashed. Why sacrifice hundreds of thousands of lives, by avoiding impeachment now? If anyone can think of another reason to let this continue, and let Bush run free through 2008, please tell me.

And I'm sorry if I'm a spoilsport. I tend to look to the dark underbelly of evil, when trying to second guess Bush and his cronies.

I'm still not convinced that the election wasn't rigged. In local races we kept seeing 51% to 49%, over and over and over... Why was the spread so consistent for so many candidates?

Color me Jaded....

Gravatar The War for Intel Independence by Ray McGovern
http://www.antiwar.com/mcgovern/...? articleid=5732

"Why dwell on Gates? Because (1) he is the one most responsible for institutionalizing political corruption of intelligence analysis"

"Many bright analysts quit rather than take part in cooking intelligence-to-go. In contrast, those inspired by Gates' example followed suit and saw their careers flourish, so much so that when in September 2002 Tenet asked his senior managers to prepare a National Intelligence Estimate parroting what Cheney had been saying about the weapons-of-mass-destruction threat from Iraq, they saluted and fell to the task. Several of them traced their career advancement to Robert Gates."

Gravatar "Cut n' Run" indeed

Gravatar Rats deserting a sinking ship.

Gravatar Bush has diarrhea of the mouth at this point.

The poor bastard just *can't* be trusted to go off script! LOL Every second of this press conference is a "Great Moment in Presidential Speeches"!

Hey, another chickensh*t Bush White House tactic -- have one microphone that gets taken away from you so that there can be no easy follow-ups and you're basically totally without power or control or status in the situation? Bush is such a punk and a moron that he needs every advantage, and even so, he comes off like a twit.

Gravatar beware of bush's new appointee. in my glee to see the GOP get their asses handed to them has the effect of lowering my guard.

but careful, bush is now a trapped animal. wounded and desperate.

and this gates fellow is known for his distortion of information for partisan gain.

it is no surprise that bush would choose someone that puts partisanship over country. (for more info see my previous post about gates track record at the cia)

Gravatar Anonymous | 11.08.06 - 1:45 pm |

The votes to convict wouldn't be there, even if all the Democrats voted to do so.

Proceding against Bush would be a waste of time and money. Let his punishment be history.

I've got a feelin' that Cheney might be vulnerable. He's gotta have enemies in the GOP.

Gravatar with everyone talking about Rummy's resignation/termination, who's watching what's happening in VA senate race?

Hmmmm? Roves media campaign diverts attention from the VA Senate race, whereby "creating his own reality."

Gravatar Gosh I hope this doesn't ruin Jeb's chances at a run for Preznut in 2008!

Hey Bush twins, what's it like watching your dad twist in the wind on national TV?

Gravatar And nw Tweety is declaring that Bush is breaking with the neocons and Chaney. Chaney wanted someone from the Project for a New American Century to take-over the cabinet position. Bush wanted someone who worked for his dad.

Just Tweety's analysis, but what does that mean?

But Bush unraveled today. Just look:

Q: Mr President, how is the reading contest (with Karl Rove) going?

A: I'm losing. I was on the campaign trail a lot more than he was.

Ouch, Karl. maybe you should prepare that golden parachute.

---------------------------

And earlier the Decider said:

"You think I'm nuts?? (Chuckle) You think I lost my sensibility on the campaign trail, Gregory?"

And a silence filled the room.

Gravatar Pelosi/Obama '07

Gravatar i'm surprised at how concilliatory the president seems in his press conference. It's quite a stark difference from his "a vote for democrats is a vote for terrorists" speech he gave less than a week ago...

I guess losing the house and senate can do that to a president...

Gravatar Why didn't these dumb bastards dump Dumsfeld BEFORE the freakin election?!?!?!?!?!

Gravatar Bush dissed Rove during the press conference. Anyone have video?

Gravatar Hi all,

If you want some laughs head over to a right wing blog like hotair.com and take a look the comments.

The righties are crying and stamping their xenophobic racist little feet.

Some of them seem to have grasped that that *gasp* these events might actually be their own damn fault. But not many.

Anyway, Dems, there are two 'stables' in DC that have not been 'mucked out' in six years. Should be smelly, but good for the country.

Gravatar So now we've got an Air Force guy heading the CIA and a CIA guy nominated for Secy of Defense.

Alrighty then.

Gravatar I have a feeling the next Sec of Defense will either be a party stalwart, possible HW Sec. of Defense, or James Baker, or God Forbid, Henry Kissinger.

He failed so miserably over Vietnam, but is touted as some kind of political genius and elder statesman.

Gravatar MMMM. MMMM.

God, he has a snoot full of coke.

The news conference is over. That was incredible, a meltdown of epic proportions. Belligerent, nearly incoherent. The mood in that room was downright chilly. Loved how we took a swipe at Turdblossom, "Guess I was working harder on the campaign than he was lately."

Gravatar "...because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns --the ones we don't know we don't know."

-Donald Rumsfeld

Gravatar After 6 years, I am still in disbelief that this MAROON is POTUS! I'm sorry, but I had to turn off the tv after 30 minutes (the longest I have ever subjected myself to listening to his incoherent ramblings and linguistic torture). My ears hurt now.

Gravatar It must be weird to fire your boss.

Gravatar from AP:

"Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, who had intervened in the past to shore up Rumsfeld, issued a statement saying, 'Washington must now work together in a bipartisan way — Republicans and Democrats — to outline the path to success in Iraq.'"

Oh, now that they lost they want to work together with Dems. Before, it was all "let's have another secret meeting." I hope the Democrats have the strength of character to treat these uncivilized Republicans better than the GOPers treated the Dems while they were in the minority.

Now that would be a victory that would reverberate through the ages.

Oh, yeah, I hope they impeach Bush, too.

Gravatar I want to see Rove on TV explaining his math. Good Riddance Rumsfeld, go stand at your desk at home!

Gravatar SAmson: You are right on. People don't lower your guard!! Not about anything. Not about electronic voting either. Nothing has changed. This is just a reprieve or simply such a wash of democrat voter intent that any "fixes" couldn't prevent it. Much change is needed. Why are they not reporting that Pelosi's seat has to be elected.

Gravatar The only question I have is. Where are all the Neo Con lurkers that frequent this site. Haven't seen them all week.

Gravatar Rumsfeld probably lost his job on a bet between Bush and Rove or Cheney on election results. Bush lost so he had to fire his buddy. Cheney and Rove tried to convince Bush to get rid of him before the election, now that they won the bet they have the excuse why they did so badly on Nov 7. It couldn't be the neocon policy itself.

Gravatar Smoke and mirrors.

Another pacifier inserted into the mouths of the population.

Gravatar Bush sounded like he wanted to move one. I wonder how much Mr. Allen will follow

Scary. If what you posted is correct, Gates may be worse than Rumsfeld.

The CIA has been corrupted, militarized, politicized and marginalized under Bush and Cheney, at the very time when it most needed to be objective and independent.

If Gates continues Bush's policy of manipulating intelligence for political ends, continued delusional foreign policyn will result. The neocon dream of war with Iran will be preserved.

Pelosi (and the potential Democratic majority in the Senate) should hold hearings to question Gates publicly. This would be a legitimate exercise in Congressional oversight, and serve notice to Bush that he doesn't have a free hand to practice neocon nation-building at will.

Gravatar I love the smell of resignation for these criminal bastards!

what! another phukkking lie from the shrub? He thought he could bully America. He's just another phukkking bully with a bloody nose.

He had no intention of replacing Rummy! Phukkk him and the entire NeoCon Cabal.

GWB: Proof that the guy on the next barstool should NOT be President!   2006: THE REPUBLICAN MASCOT FOR 2006!

Gravatar So, would that make it one rummy down, and one to go?

Gravatar .
Robert Gates served as assistant to the Director of the CIA in 1981 and as Deputy Director for Intelligence for 1982 to 1986. In that capacity he helped develop options in dealing with the Iran-Iraq war, which eventually involved into a secret intelligence liaison relationship with Saddam Hussein's Iraq. Gates was in charge of the directorate that prepared the intelligence information that was passed on to Iraq. He testified that he was also an active participant in the operation during 1986. The secret intelligence sharing operation with Iraq was not only a highly questionable and possibly illegal operation, but also may have jeopardized American lives and our national interests. The photo reconnaissance, highly sensitive electronic eavesdropping and narrative texts provided to Saddam, may not only have helped him in Iraq's war against Iran but also in the recent gulf war. Saddam Hussein may have discovered the value of underground land lines as opposed to radio communications after he was give our intelligence information. That made it more difficult for the allied coalition to get quick and accurate intelligence during the gulf war. Further, after the Persian Gulf war, our intelligence community was surprised at the extent of Iraq's nuclear program. One reason Saddam may have hidden his nuclear program so effectively from detection was because of his knowledge of our satellite photos. What also concerns me about that operation is that we spend millions of dollars keeping secrets from the Soviets and then we give it to Saddam who sells them to the Soviets. In short, the coddling of Saddam was a mistake of the first order.

Mr. President, I've stated a very simple case for rejecting the nomination of Robert Gates to be Director of the CIA. The fact that he was wrong on major issues which in some instances led to foreign policy debacles. I haven't addressed concerns about the allegations of his politicization of intelligence analysis, his apparently poor managerial style or still unanswered questions about his role in the Iran-Contra affair. Regarding the Iran-Contra affair, I should mention that I was quite disturbed to hear testimony that portrayed Robert Gates as someone concerned about Agency's role and not sufficiently concerned about pursuing possible illegal Government activities. In his opening statement before the Intelligence Committee, Mr. Gates said that he should have taken more seriously `the possibility of impropriety or possible wrongdoing in the Government and pursued this possibility more aggressively.' I agree.

The Dem's win the senate!, The Dem's win the senate! The Dem's win the senate! The Dem's win the senate!!!!

Gravatar Though he may now be a private citizen, I do believe Rummy could still be subpoenaed to testify before Congress should the legislature choose to investigate his participation in war crimes. Not to mention any international tribunals. Resignation does not mean escaping responsibility.

Gravatar When I went to sleep, my fear was that this might happen, and that Lieberman would screw us all by becoming RumsFailed's replacement. What happy news to wake up to!

Now, my only concern with respect to RumsFailed is where to try him. What say you? The Hague? How 'bout Iraq? His crimes are mostly committed there, right? Or maybe we should just use the new executive powers to declare him an alien unlawful enemy combatant, and ship him off to some CIA prison in Romania, or wherever those are these days.

(I thought I would never say that again).

Gravatar Something irksome:

Even if Congress passes legislature undoing law such as The Patriot Act, or the Military Commissions Act(might be the wrong title, but the one from the last month or so that suspends habeas corpus), will there be a coalition large enough to override a veto?

Nonneocon | 11.08.06 - 1:04 pm | #

Yes that bothers me.

You can't put money back in a bank vault if you think the manager stole it in the first place.

Democrats won -- now we need to make sure Liberals and Progressives are going to win, by holding their feet to the fire. This isn't their country club, where they can parlay our confidence into some tit-for-tat favors from Republicans in return for a slap on the wrist.

I'm going to find whichever group I can that keeps pushing to get our Democratic congress to investigate and impeach.

End the privatization of voting.
End all war profiteering by making any profits illegal (cost only -- because it's for America and nobody should be profiting from war).
Impeach.

Those are my three issues now. We can't address the environment, education or health care or anything else, until we deal with the betrayal.

Gravatar Make no mistake...

BUSH 41 IS ACTUALLY THE PRESIDENT - AND HAS BEEN SINCE 2000.

I'm totally serious.

Bush 41, Lay and Cheney conspired in 1999 to CREATE the FAKE California Energy Crisis that paved the way to INSTALLING the Oil Boys in the White House.

Part of their plan included implementation of the PNAC - including the NEW PEARL HARBOR as the PRETEXT for the invasion of the Middle East - outsourcing the implementation to Mossad under the direction of Cheney (as witnessed by Minetta) using PTECH software to blind NORAD on 9/11.

Bush 41 is the kingpin of 9/11.

Look at GW's entire cabinet. They are all 41s co-conspirators. 41 has been an agent of Israel since the early sixties in this days as an agent of the CIA (he was in Dallas the day Kennedy was assassinated).

41 literally OWNS the CIA - and its fleet of Gulfstream jets flying cash and cocaine between Colombia and Florida to this day.

41 is the biggest criminal in the United States. His sons are just part of the protection racket.

Jim Baker and Robert Gates to the rescue?

Gimme A Break!

Investigate GHW Bush.

WHERE IS Israeli Agent KOBI ALEXANDER?

His "Comverse" was used to wiretap and blackmail every politician.

His "Odigo" was used to warn Israeli Nationals to steer clear of the WTC on 9/11.

His PTECH (a PROMIS knock-off) was used to blind NORAD.

He's wanted by the Federal Government...do you know where he is?

He's in the WITNESS PROTECTION PROGRAM!

Where is Dov Zakheim?

He stole $7 TRILLION from the DOD and sent it to Israel.

DEMAND JUSTICE.

Gravatar .

"BUSH CRIME FAMILY"

.

Gravatar Dems should refuse to confirm Gates and tell Bush, behind closed doors, that he should nominate Brent Scowcroft.

Karma

Gravatar I found a photo of Rumsfeld without his make-up on:

http://photos1.blogger.com/blogg...runk% 20copy.jpg

Hit refresh if it doesn't show up right away.
You know how shy merchants of death can be without their make-up...

Gravatar Just one thing to say......

http://frogstar.soylentgeek.com/.../wav/ buhbye.wav

Gravatar I can so see Mama Pelosi giving Bushie boy a good talking to on the phone this morning and made him a nice deal. Something like if you do what I say, I'll let you stick around to play with all your little friends at the white house for another two years. And then he said, it's Rummy's fault, I didn't do it! LOL.

Gravatar Where is Dov Zakheim?

$7 TRILLION, eh? Right-o, pal!

CarolSoprano | 11.08.06 - 1:10 pm |

>> And I hope the day after that, the WayneMadsenReport.com lists some dirt that reveals Liebermann should go to jail. The best thing that could happen is that Liberman is caught in some dirt so that he can be replaced by a real Democrat.

Of course, ideally, we could have voted him out... but that is a snake that we can never trust because he is 100% opportunist.

Gravatar Now Rummy can pay full attention to making his fake and poisonious sugar product.

Gravatar Andy K | 11.08.06 - 2:32 pm | #

Although I'm leery of conspiracy theories, I've long suspected that if they would trace the abuse at Gitmo and Abu Ghraib up the line it would lead to the Defense Intelligence Agency, and ol' Rummy.

Now to save face they're going to rename themselves the Intelligence Unit for Defense (IUD).

That's a joke for you ladies out there.

Yes, it bothers me. And not in a "I wanna get Bush" way, but we NEED to do this to send a message to the next group of guys, that we aren't putting up with this kind of shit anymore. Sort of like the death penalty acts as more of a message to future murderers.

Besides, if it is warranted, than according to the law, we HAVE to impeach him. It's the rules.

Gravatar I haven't read all these posts so it might have been covered already but that picture just begs for a caption. Something like, "and then I squeezed her breast ever so firmly just like this..."

I'm also looking forward to hearing what the active duty generals have to say about him now that they no longer answer to this asshole.

Gravatar how long before rummy suffers a massive heart attack???

Gravatar Bush is as (if not more) responsible than Rumsfeld for this stupid war. If they had any decency, Bush, Cheney and Rice would all resign. Of course, if they had any decency, they wouldn't have sent young Americans to die in one of the stupidest and most unnecessary wars in history.
God, please give us majority in the Senate. Just one more seat. Impeach, impeach, impeach!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gravatar Ol' Bush did the only thing that would put the dems in their place and get them off the headlines. Now they don't get to gloat, but have to actually start coming up with a plan to go forward. Replacing rummy was a stroke of genius. That has Rove's name all over it.

Gravatar GOOD RIDDANCE!

Gravatar HECKUVA JOB, RUMMY!
bye bye
The world is a lot better off now.
Oh wait, lets see which dork replaces him first.

Gravatar I'm as giddy as a school girl!

Gravatar at the trolls attempt to grasp at straws.

Gravatar Please, please, please...JOHN BOLTON next!

Gravatar In that picture,is Rumsfield daydreaming about Kathryn Harris again?

By the way did she lose yet?

Gravatar Csdeven | 11.08.06 - 3:15 pm | #

Couldn't this be yet another example of Bush flip flopping?

Better Bush flips flops than wear a thong.

Gravatar Csdeven..damn your funny....Hey everybody this troll cracked a funny.LOL>>>at you bud....no really LOL>>>

Gravatar Rumsfeld is "cutting and running"......good!

Gravatar i guess some people are always looking for the piece of corn in a turd. a stroke of genius, has rove written all over it. what about the man keeping his word. right or wrong, bush was always looked at as being loyal, in fact to a fault, loyal to his appointments. now with good job brownie and rummy both gone by the wayside, what does he have going for him. prison life for the decider is what awaits him.

Gravatar The next thing we'll hear about Rummy is that after the cops stop him in traffic, he's put under observations for asking himself questions and then answering them too.

Gravatar Now it's time to give Colin Powell a microphone and let him rip. Come on Colin!

Gravatar Some people are so partisan they shouldn't be taken seriously. If you bothered to listen to the press conference, both bush AND rummy, together, decided it was time for a change at the SECDEF position. How does that translate into not being loyal and not keeping ones word?

Gravatar Wasn't gates one of the B-teamers who cooked intellegence to make the Soviet threat look a lot worse than it was? A player in orchestrating Iran-contra, cooking the intel on that, too? Most likely perjured himself in Iran-Contra the hearings?

If so, he must be denied confirmation. Don't need any more shady characters/thugs, no matter what their resume is prettied -up to say.

Gravatar Wow, it's been the Night of Long Knives for the shills that have propped up the Shrub... Harris, Blackwell and now Rummy...

Gotta wonder what the golden parachute is going to be for these kids... (or are they just going to get kicked to the curb for 'failing.'"

Gravatar Damn, its hard to be an athiest when god drops 24 hours like this. (plus, there has to be a hell- where else will Rummy spend his retirement?)

Gravatar listen to yourself, they reached the decision together. that was about as uncomfortable a session as could be imagined. as far as i am concerned this is all water under the bridge. now comes the task of putting back that which has been almost destroyed in the last six years. first and formost, the cog to reconstruction must be removed. how. impeach the criminal. and prosecute all who assisted him in his illegal endeavors. the best legal minds have to focus on the task. once the criminals are jailed then the healing can begin. we have just come through the greatest crisis this country has ever endured.

Gravatar What could be said that could over-state the seriousness of the threat from the soviets?

There wasn't enough evidence to charge Gates with a crime in the Iran-contra affair.

Gravatar lets not forget rummy , when the trials start!
tyree | 11.08.06 - 12:59 pm | #

We could hand him over to the Iraqi courts. They seem to be able to process war criminals better than us. Kissinger is still a free man.

Gravatar What specific crimes has Bush committed and what evidence supports the accusations?

Gravatar Replacing rummy was a stroke of genius. That has Rove's name all over it.

There is nothing that this group has ever done that could be characterized as a stroke of genius.

Gravatar What specific crimes has Bush committed and what evidence supports the accusations?
Csdeven | 11.08.06 - 4:47 pm | #

This administration admitted to war crimes when they passed legislation preventing them from being prosecuted.

Gravatar Think how ludicrous that is! The man who promised to restore integrity to the White House passed legislation preventing us from prosecuting him and his administration of war crimes.

What a sick mother.......

Gravatar Gates? Talk about rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic!

Gravatar A great day for the USA!!

Gravatar is it frickin' christmas already?

Gravatar Congratulations America, we've done it! This is the America that I remember in my sixty years of life. I'm so proud of everyone who responded in these blogs across the nation.

We will correct the mistakes of these bumbling fools and one of the first is going to be restoration of Habeas Corpus.

Imagine a nation that says "all people are innocent" until proven guilty whether they be criminals, terrorist or anyone charged with crimes against this nation. That this nation does not fear an equal and fair justice system.

A nation that can do this will be the truly great nation that we so proudly boast of.

Gravatar Let us not forget Rumsfeld shaking hands with Saddam:
www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB82/

Gravatar I have been waiting to say this now for six years;

Don't let the door hit you on the ass Rummy!

Boy feels a lot better now!

Cut and runsfeld, when it comes to themselves, but stay the course when it is our turn!

Gravatar Shared Humanity | 11.08.06 - 4:52 pm | #

I dunno, Rummy looks like a candidate for a stroke.

Gravatar Don't you feel good knowing that your vote counted?!
I was so worried it would have been a repeat of 2004.
Thank you sweeeeeeet JESUS!
.

Gravatar Notice how we are talking about Rummy rather than about the message sent by the voters.

I suspect this would not have happened had the Republicans kept control of congress. But now that they have been swept out, the right wing is instantly on top of the news cycle.

Gravatar Our long national nightmare is over.

Congratulations on a successful Operation American Freedom! (can't recall who to credit for that one)
Slaw | 11.08.06 - 1:01 pm | #

Er, the liberal blogosphere?

Oh yeah Rummy, we won't miss you either. Don't let the door smack you on the ground and make your snub nose a couple inches shorter.

Gravatar redrum redrumsfeld REDRUMSFELD REDRUMSFELD REDRUMSFELD!

Gravatar I just sent an e-mail to Tom Kean (R-NJ), who lost to Menendez the D. I said "if only I had known that Bush would get rid of Rumsfeld I would have voted for you. Too bad it happened today instead of yesterday." Don't worry, guys, I couldn't have anyway - I don't live there anymore! I just want to piss him off about Bush some more.

Gravatar Gates has a history of manipulating the intelligence. And he is ex-CIA. The more things change, the more things stay the same, or Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

But it doesn't sound like Bush is changing his policy any. This may just be a cosmetic fix: putting lipstick on a pig, so to speak.

Gravatar Welcome to the last days....Blah blah blah.....

Gravatar Now that we've beaten them...the world is almost ours...Power be unto us...

Gravatar Conversation btw Rummy and Leroy in some US JAIL:

Leroy: Hey Rummy, I dont like your ass because your ass is not TIGHT anymore.

Rummy: Leroy, you dont come to jail with the ASS that you want but with the ASS that you have.

MERRY CHRISTMAS MY BROTHERS AND SISTERS< NEOCONS SUCK

Gravatar I say we move all the neocons and anyone who disagrees with us to an isolated part of the country and nuke em!

Gravatar bout bloody time...

Gravatar humanity,

What credible source can you site that proves the bush admin committed war crimes? (I don't mean blogs or web sites that make accusations without proof)

Gravatar Humanity,

"There is nothing that this group has ever done that could be characterized as a stroke of genius"

Do you think it was an accident that the media is talking about rummy and denying the dems days and days of gloating?

I doubt it.

Gravatar Restore,

"Gates? Talk about rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic!"

Are you referring to the war or the administration as a whole? Either way, I don't see where that example applies at all.

Gravatar Badfinger,

"Imagine a nation that says "all people are innocent" until proven guilty whether they be criminals, terrorist or anyone charged with crimes against this nation. That this nation does not fear an equal and fair justice system"

Show me the writ of habeas corpus all the victims of 9/11 recieved before they were sentanced to death and I'll agree with you. Also, you need to check facts. During WWII the SCOTUS denied many requests by foreigners for relief using habeas corpus. Coincidentally it was the last war that we really won. And what do you know, the US didn't turn into a police state. During times of war, or when there is a clear and present danger to the USA, the suspension of habeas corpus is completely ligitimate.

Gravatar Once more Junior surrounds himself with his daddy's asslickers.

You see how well it has worked so far.

But still, it is about fucking time Rummy is gone.

Gravatar freeherenow,

I don't believe that anyone knew of saddams atrocities in 1983. Should we also excoriate FDR for being an ally of Stalin during WWII?

Gravatar To Csdeven: so you'll convict someone without showing him the evidence, you'll execute him without having had representation in a court of law that we say is the best in history and take his life with methods from the dark ages. You'll suspend freedom to keep us free? That never works.

And wake up and look at the evidence, 911 was an inside job. The evidence will make you sick. But Mr. you better believe they did it along with 3000 dead troops and 650,000 dead Iraq's who had nothing to do with it at all!

Gravatar Badfinger,

Withholding habeas corpus from foriegners worked during WWII. I suppose we should have treated germany, japan, and italy as equals to american citizens. C'mon, get real.

9/11 was an inside job as much as pearl harbor was.

Gravatar They were, however, under the Geneva conventions. Bush is trying to to cancel both habeus corpus and the convention in a game of, "We're at war, no we're not."
