nothing funny here
not even a thrill if first

sad.

That's awful. So sad. My heart goes out to his family

Gravatar That is sad.

Its the traditional duty of a Vice President to attend funerals in the President's stead.

Dick Cheney avoids this tradition.

I doubt he or Bush will attend this funeral.

Perhaps George Sr, will attend?

Gravatar My sympathies to the family he left behind.

Gravatar God bless his family.

Gravatar RIP.

Gravatar 4 little kids. What a shame.

RIP.

Gravatar Wonder if his family will even get a sympathy card? Four little children without a father. A father who died needlessly protecting a complete idiot, Worst President Ever. A tragedy no less.

Gravatar I never know what to say in situations like this, but even though it was an accident, comparable to friendly fire, the man died doing his duty. That's a good epitaph for any man.

Gravatar I wonder how fast the motorcade was travelling? Was excessive speed a factor? By the pictures the weather looked to be sunny that day.

Gravatar Maybe we can start a fund for his kids.
Where to begin?

Gravatar Rough.

Gravatar What happened?

Gravatar This man gave his life protecting a coward .

Gravatar My god, just thirty years old? Four children? This is terrible, truly terrible. When I was thirty my whole life seemed ahead of me, I hadn't even found my spouse, my children were five years ahead of me. All my sympathies to the family, to the widow, to the children. This is so cruel I just can't find the words.

aimai

Gravatar Don't any of you find it odd there's been n o more expaination for what happened than, "there werer some slippery roads in the are due to light rain."

That's utter horseshit! Those motor cops had many years of experience and that just does not happen! I am a motorcyclist myself, I know some motor cops and that expaination is utter, total, complete garbage.

Did someone try to kill the President? Is there a cover-up to hide what the Hell happened? Within hours, the Presidents Daughter Barbara, down on her "Run to Paraguay, gotta buy a 98,500 acre rach for to Daddy to hide out in after he's convicted of genocide" mission, was robbed and her guard was BEAT-UP!

Wake the Hell up.

Gravatar That Guy | 11.27.06 - 4:51 pm | #

Sometimes a tragedy is just a tragedy. As a father of four, I cannot imagine the difficulties facing his poor wife.

Seems that death stalks our dark angel of a president; bad karma.

Gravatar So very sorry. My sympathies go out to his widow and family. The whole incident sounds inexplicable. A tragedy for sure.

Gravatar My condolences to his family.

I hate to say it, but the first thing that sprang to my mind was 'What did he know/hear/see?'.

Sorry, this one don't taste right.

Gravatar How very very sad. Condolences to his family and friends.

Granted, I don't watch much MSM news, but except for Keith Olebermann, I have heard absolutely nothing about this, not at the time of the accident, not now.

Gravatar The man died doing his duty. It is very tragic that this assignment, which could not be considered particularly hazardous, lead to his death. I lived on Martha's Vineyard, and I know that the State Troopers assigned to Presidential escort duty always thought of it as a professional honor, regardless of their personal feelings about the occupant of the office.

Gravatar yeah, no matter what side you stand with, this is just very very sad. He had 4 kids...as parent my heart goes out to his family.

PEACE,

Gravatar I'd like to know how it happened, if only because they're so obviously not telling....

Gravatar My heart goes to his family today.

Gravatar I hope someone starts a Fund for his Family.

There has been a long line of death surrounding a certain someone every since he decided to dive into the political realm.....

People just die when he shows up....

Gravatar That Bush karma will get ya every time.

Gravatar Jesus, this is a heartbreaking story. I can't imagine they were going very fast so how did such an awful accident happen?

Gravatar everywhere Bush goes,people die

Gravatar It's somehow Clinton's fault I'm sure.

Gravatar No glib, sardonic remarks from this corner. Only sympathies to the man's family and loved ones.

Gravatar Has Bush even bothered to comment on this, much less express regret at a member of his protection detail's loss?

Or is this poor guy just like our soldiers? Another ignored dead body in the wake of the Bush Administration's reign....

Gravatar 30 years old, man.

/is 38

Gravatar sad

I also can't help but wonder what happened... I read several stories and nothing explains, at all, what actually happened...

I don't have any suspicions. But I also haven't gotten any facts, except that the road might have been slippery...

---------------------------------------

Gravatar I have a number of friends who are or have been motorcycle cops. Believe me, there doesn't need to be any conspiracy, particularly where motorcycles are concerned. Shit happens, and it's a tragedy. A young man, a father, a husband, someone's son, died doing his duty. Let's keep it respectful.

You won't find anything from me but my deepest sympathies to his family.

Gravatar I don't believe in accidents where W is concerned. No president is that unlucky. There has to be a scientific explaination. Maybe Bush radiates waves of failure that make it impossible for anyone nearby to do their jobs correctly.

My sympathies to the family.

Gravatar This is so very sad. My heart goes out to his family, friends & co-workers.

Gravatar looked to be sunny that day.
Capability Jones | 11.27.06 - 4:41 pm

Not quite. Light rain had been falling, and some roads on the base were slick. http://www.guardian.co.uk/ worldl...6241941,00.html. I was thinking it would just be a couple broken bones and maybe a concussion. This was somewhat of a shock.

There was another motorcycle cop that went down (luckily with less than critical injuries) a few days later because he needed to make a U turn on gravel.

I realize that the first consideration is to the President's safety. But hope somebody will give consideration for all in the motorcade in the future.

Gravatar Death just seems to be Bush's constant companion.

Gravatar Favela...remained in critical condition with a broken pelvis, a severed artery in his right leg and multiple internal injuries. But there was some renewed hope on Friday when his condition improved slightly following the amputation of one of his legs."

A broken pelvis is a pretty serious injury. Motorcycles are dangerous. This is a sad story, but life goes on...

Gravatar Dammit!! This is the most depressing news I've heard in a week (other than all the death and carnage in IRAQ).

I feel very sad for his family.

Gravatar I live in Hawaii, and here is what I have heard about the accident on the grapevine. The accident occured at a dangerous curve and the motorcade was going very slowly (5-10 miles an hour). According to my cousin, it is difficult to ride a motorcycle at such slow speeds.

Gravatar so you're telling me he somehow got in a fatal crash going under 10mph???

Gravatar I feel unspeakable sadness for this man. Yet another disposable pawn for the moronic "Decider". Add him to the near 3,000 servicemen and women and between 150,000-600,000 Iraqis, and you will see that we all have a lot of atoning to do.

It is wise to recognize trends. One glaring trend is that wherever the village idiot goes, death and destruction is sure to follow, if not preceed him. The Shrub is mayhem with legs.

Gravatar True, shit happens on motorcycles but let's just wind the clock back 6+ years ago and imagine what the MSM and the wing nut talk radio guys would be screeching right about now if this had happened while Clinton was president. Everyone, and I mean everyone in the country would be talking about it and the press would ask "Was it necessary for the president to go to Hawaii and endanger people's lives?"

How much play is this getting with our current president?

Gravatar 3 motor cops went down at the same time,
inside a base, traveling slow, all experienced drivers, one dies.

weird, right after the fact that there was a near coup in the 4 military times newspapers.

the msm has no details?

weird i say

we`ll here about this one again sometime later me thinks.

Gravatar Who hasn't died physically or psychologically around BUSH? It's not a news to me!

Gravatar So, why does Bush need a police escort on a military base ?

Gravatar You don't suffer those kinds of injuries just by falling off your bike. He must have been run over by someone else.

Gravatar What would happen if they gave a presidential motorcade, any nobody came?

Gravatar How fast were they going? Speed wobble? Why do I have the feeling that someone from the motorcade fucked up and we'll never know what really happened a la Cheney shooting that guy in the face.

Gravatar I find it hard to believe they were going 5-10 mph. I thought I initially heard it had rained and the curve is obvious.

My first thought was that the Secret Service told them they HAD to go _at_least_ a certain speed for the president's safety.

Which really makes me wonder who came up with the 5-10 mph story. I had two smaller bikes as a kid and ate grass and burned skin on gravel at those speeds and above more than once. And just look at a small-track dirt race on any given weekend.

Gravatar The gods of drunkards still seem to be protecting Bush. Whenever there's an accident involving a drunk it always seems everyone else is hurt, but the drunk.

Just this weekend an elderly couple in their 70's were killed a mile away from their home in this region by a drunk SUV driver, and his passenger injured. But the drunk is ok.

Gravatar Just think , the Bush family could cut this guy's family a check that would take care of them for the rest of thier life and never miss a penny of it .
I guess they would but only if the family used the money to buy Neal Bush's educational business goods .....
