“This week in Federal Way schools, it got a lot more inconvenient to show one of the top-grossing documentaries in U.S. history, the global-warming alert "An Inconvenient Truth."

After a parent who supports the teaching of creationism and opposes sex education complained about the film, the Federal Way School Board on Tuesday placed what it labeled a moratorium on showing the film. The movie consists largely of a computer presentation by former Vice President Al Gore recounting scientists' findings.

"Condoms don't belong in school, and neither does Al Gore. He's not a schoolteacher," said Frosty Hardison, a parent of seven who also said that he believes the Earth is 14,000 years old. "The information that's being presented is a very cockeyed view of what the truth is. ... The Bible says that in the end times everything will burn up, but that perspective isn't in the DVD…"

All this really serves to prove is that if people are convinced that something is true and are determined to find it, they'll grasp at even the flimsiest and most outlandish straws to prove their point...just like that unbelievably asinine and ridiculous statement by Jerry Falwell a number of years ago that "Tinky Winky" of the Teletubbies was gay because he was purple, had a triangle on his head, and carried what appeared to be a handbag. Sigmund Freud would have had a field day with people like this -- their paranoia makes them see enemies everywhere.

Want to ruin the viewing of any Faux News nut? Plant a seed of truth and forever tarnish their naivette.

Point out that Faux News simply is a one trick recipe, find an enemy and cannabalize with distraction.

Fox Fascist New and O'Reilley get more extreme as their ratings keep sinking steadily.

Every ratings period we see that they continue to decline and MSNBC increases. The long term trend ain't going in their direction, so now its rant and rave.

These are O'Really's defenders.

Wait till Colbert hands O'Really his ass on January 18, when he goes on Colbert's show.

O'Really is a slimy little coward who can't stand it when people call him on his b.s. I remember when he went on Russert's program and Paul Krugman let him have it with the facts and he was screaming shut up and was a fool. Letterman let him have it twice. If anyone criticizes him they are called "far left."

You know, someone called in to the Rhandi Rhodes show the other day and suggested that our reinging dictator might actually be clinically insane (and he was dead serious, with andecdotal evidence to back up the charge), AND SHE SHOT HIM DOWN. The guy was making a very good point, and she goes on and on about "how can ya prove it?" and "there's no way to prove it", talking as if the insanity plea isn't used every other day in this country, or that we have absolutely NO WAY of knowing if someone is insane. Was she freakin' SERIOUS?!? Yup, know why? 'Cuz she's a freakin' idiot, that's why.
