They certainly don't practice what they preach.. Just like Alan Keyes kicked out his daughter when she came out as gay. I have a gay son and there would be no chance in hell that I would ever stop loving him or kick him out of my life. He has a fantastic partner also who's sister hates my son and blames him for turning her brother gay even tho he is 5 years older than my son and was out as gay before he even met my son. Go figure.

I had a long conversation with Randall Terry on a plane from Loing Island, New York, to Binghampton, NY, in 1990. At the time, there was a very large pro-choice rally going on in DC, and he was making his way back from it (opposing it, of course). I had just read a 17 page village voice article about him and his group, and lo and behold, sitting 1 set behind me, is the guy in the newpaper picture in front of me! What an amazing opportunity to actually have a discussion with someone like that. The details of the conversation weren't particularly interesting, he's just a typical extreme right winger. When we were getting off the plane, he did promise to pray for me. Thanks, Randy.

AWOL
by Kathy Roth-Douquet & Frank Schaeffer
http://www.sftt.org/cgi-bin/
csNe...1.2430044734649
“The Unexcused Absence of America’s Upper Classes from Military Service – and How It Hurts Our Country,”
Together, Kathy and Frank explore the role the military plays in our society, and the roles played by members of various cultural and social groups within our society as they relate to the military. They argue persuasively that when a country’s leaders are derived primarily from the Upper Classes, and when they have no military experience to speak of, and when their children sidestep military service, a serious gap develops between society and the military. This gap, they argue, is a growing problem that threatens to undermine the very fabric of our society.
...unless we solve this looming problem, our country is headed for a clouded future, where leaders have no experience with and no stake in the military they send into battle.
As General Tommy Franks wrote in his introduction: “When we look for balance in a dangerous and complex world, AWOL is a good place to start.”

inconsistencies like:

-Pre-Emptive War (Satan must be ROTFL)

Randall Terry used to have a home less than ten miles from where I live in New York State, near Binghamton, and just about everyone that lived in this area KNEW he was a failed used-car salesman and a total bullshit artist.
He was a fucking embarrassment to the local area; I used to cringe when they said he was from here when started his Operation Rescue horseshit. When he moved to Florida, we were mightily glad to see the asshole gone, just to get his stink out of the air.

"The Bible," Randall notes, "doesn't condemn divorce, but it does condemn homosexuality." Randall Terry
Whaaaa? You’re kidding me right? How could a man who claims to be an expert on the Bible make such an outrageously deceitful statement?
Here's a quote that Mr. Terry might have missed though I will admit it comes from a very MINOR player in the modern Christian movement:
The quote comes from Matthew 19 verse 9:
"I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery." JESUS CHRIST
Strangely enough Jesus Christ (you know the guy after which the CHRISTian religion was established) NEVER said one word about homosexuality.
Terry might also want to check out:
Malachi 2:16 "I hate divorce," says the Lord God of Israel"
I Corinthians 7:11 "And a husband shall not divorce his wife."
I Corinthians 7:27 "Are you married? Do not seek a divorce."
Mr. Terry, what say you? You can't possibly have dedicated yourself to the Christian faith and Bible study and be ignorant of these scriptures. The only other possibility is you are willfully lying to justify your own shameful life and your hateful bigotry toward others.
Of course unlike other people's sexuality and pregnancy choices, Mr. Terry believes his divorce is no one's business but his own and he's willing to intentionally misrepresent his faith to justify his hateful and hypocritical beliefs.
This man is an evil, hateful hypocrite that should never claim he is a Christian.

These types of wedge issues are all the neocon/repugs have - their actual agenda would never be supported by the majority of Americans - it is clearly against the best interests of over 90 percent of America!
Instead, they distract us with these garbage issues and prevent a dialog about the issues that directly impact American's lives.
The neocon/repug agenda is nothing less than open class warfare against working Americans, families, and children. They need these issues to prevent us from talking about the real issues so many struggle for healthcare, housing, education, and decent jobs.

Just like Alan Keyes kicked out his daughter when she came out as gay.
actually she was working on his campaign when she came out.
He waited til AFTER the campaign to give her the boot. You know, might as well take advantage of that free labor.
As for Randall Terry, it was pointed out up-thread that he divorced his first wife to marry the younger woman, who I think was the babysitter or nanny or something like that. Nice.
What's more, Terry had previously railed in church - no shit - against men who divorce their wives in order to marry younger 'trophy' wives.
Why is it that so many Rethuglicans have such bad cases of projection?

This is really very, very typical.
When I was 19, my mom found out I was gay while my dad was out of town. She literally shoved me out the door into the rain, with nothing but a backpack and a bike (she wouldn't even let me take my car). It wasn't enough for her, I guess- the following year, both of them decided together to yank my school funding out from under my feet, and I had to leave college. I was studying to be a high school band director at the time. It was the last time I ever performed anything, in any way.
All this happened in 1993-94. Twelve years later, and I still can't even look at college ads (and to my immense chagrin I'm a postal worker now, so I see such all the time) without my stomach knotting up. Just two days ago, I saw an ad from my former school showing a photo of one of the very stages I once performed on. I almost had to leave work, over that one itty-bitty photo.
I haven't spoken to my mom since May, when we were supposed to be celebrating my birthday. She drove me to screaming tears instead.
This is nothing new from Republicans, and they just don't care. Proof? From the night it happened to the day he died, my father never once mentioned it or anything connected to it. I lost all my friends and social networks twice over- once when I got kicked out of my home, and again when I had to leave school.
These people take delight in ruining the lives of people like myself. Twelve years, I'm 31, and despite being musically talented my entire life AND trying my damndest to make something come of that, here I sit at age 31, not knowing what to do with my life.
This is the sort of thing Republicans love to do. They are very sick, evil people who don't deserve... well, anything but scorn.
I know all too well what this guy did to his kids, and how it could affect them later on in their lives. What a sick, sick sonofabitch.
