Although I think everyone should have listened to the warning to evacuate before the hurricane, it is obvious some people couldn't or were afraid to. FEMA and Bush ought to be hung for this travesty. For the record, my 81 year-old mother-in-law lives in a small apartment in the Garden District. She is on Medicaid and food stamps and just finished her second battle with breast cancer, but she still fled New Orleans when the first hurrican warnings went out. Yes, she is white, but she is hardly wealthy. She took out a payday loan against her Social Security check to afford a plane ticket to her 95-year old sister's place in Houston, and she lost all her few possessions that were left. Regardless, Bush is evil and so are most of his spokespersons.

It's just more welfare/poor/race-bashing, more of the same issue that the right has been spouting for years. As I was watching it I was thinking about my Iowa hometown, where 99.5% of the population was caucasian and the other 5% Native American and/or "other." And you'd better believe that plenty of those white folks got welfare of some kind--my mom was one of them. So if a tornado had torn my Iowa town to pieces and the poor (white) people in that town had nowhere to go but to the civic center or something, would this kind of bashing have happened? It just happened that in New Orleans the majority of the poor were black, but not all of them. So race does become a factor because that's the most obvious thing that people see.

But Williams didn't leave it at race, he had to throw in the dependence myth, the entitlement myth, that welfare breeds dependence when all of the impartial studies done over the years have shown that families go on welfare when they need it, and go off it when they don't. Period.

At least Morris Reid said out loud what should have been obvious to everybody, that this is as much a class issue as it is a race issue.

Yes, we've seen the story on foxnews that 20% don't have cars, that people were locked in the convention center, roadblocks were there to prevent people from crossing the bridge. I know a very liberal white friend of mine first viewed the looting by the blacks in disguest. I had to remind him that I'd probably be looting food if I were in their situation too.

A great example is Fred Phelps - the ranting anti-gay preacher from Topeka Kansas who actually has probably turned more people from his hate filled ways than anyone. This guy is sick - and for anyone that sick I must find some kind of compassion deep inside me or I become just like him at some level. I see the kind of anger and I feel rage at someone who is so hatefilled. But, it seems that my rage does nothing and can do nothing. I think of Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, Rosa Parks, - all of them managed to change the world - huge giant social changes without appealing to the violence within us all. Talk shows are throwing violence into our very consciousness. Either we change or people like Williams are the victor. I wonder who will step forward in this time and lead us to a place of peace. Right now, certain people in the media are attempting to demonize black people the same way they demonized Middle Eastern people after 9/11. Displays like this man's racist tirade; the media's focusing on the small minority who looted (?); articles like the one about the internment camps; the government's deliberate attempts to frustrate victims of the hurricane by denying them money and services and separating families ; All these things make me believe that they are trying to provoke black people to riot so they can puts us in detainment camps. I think they are using the disaster of the hurricane to further deprive people of their rights and freedoms just as they used 9/11 as an excuse for the Patriot Act and other restrictive laws. They also used 9/11 as a reason to round up, detain and deport people of Middle Eastern descent. Now they're doing the same thing to black people under cover of a "national emergency."

There are way too many scriptures to show that Jesus taught and commanded of his followers the exact opposite of what's taught today. That's not rocket science. The Bible actually says that it'll be clear who's phoney and who's not. And pretty much it is. But as far as treatment of the poor goes, when hundreds of faith based organizations are helping right now, it's hard to say that they all hate the poor. I have issues with what they teach as far as it harmonizing with the Bible, which I won't go in to here...but if there are hundreds of faith based homes opened for evacuees, then they are not exactly like this raving maniac here.

I don't know anything about him, but throughout this thread people have said "christian", so I'm assuming at one point he made that claim. There are many on the right that are athiests, I know some. They are horrible people. Absolutely horrible. At least with a right wing phoney, you can call them on their phoneyness.

Dear Mr. Bush:

Any idea where all our helicopters are? It's Day 5 of Hurricane Katrina and
thousands remain stranded in New Orleans and need to be airlifted. Where on
earth could you have misplaced all our military choppers? Do you need help
finding them? I once lost my car in a Sears parking lot. Man, was that a drag.
Also, any idea where all our national guard soldiers are? We could really use
them right now for the type of thing they signed up to do like helping with
national disasters. How come they weren't there to begin with?
Last Thursday I was in south Florida and sat outside while the eye of Hurricane
Katrina passed over my head. It was only a Category 1 then but it was pretty
nasty. Eleven people died and, as of today, there were still homes without
power. That night the weatherman said this storm was on its way to New Orleans.
That was Thursday! Did anybody tell you? I know you didn't want to interrupt
your vacation and I know how you don't like to get bad news. Plus, you had
fundraisers to go to and mothers of dead soldiers to ignore and smear. You sure
showed her!
I especially like how, the day after the hurricane, instead of flying to
Louisiana, you flew to San Diego to party with your business peeps. Don't let
people criticize you for this -- after all, the hurricane was over and what the
heck could you do, put your finger in the dike?
And don't listen to those who, in the coming days, will reveal how you
specifically reduced the Army Corps of Engineers' budget for New Orleans this
summer for the third year in a row. You just tell them that even if you hadn't
cut the money to fix those levees, there weren't going to be any Army engineers
to fix them anyway because you had a much more important construction job for
them -- BUILDING DEMOCRACY IN IRAQ!
On Day 3, when you finally left your vacation home, I have to say I was moved by
how you had your Air Force One pilot descend from the clouds as you flew over
New Orleans so you could catch a quick look of the disaster. Hey, I know you
couldn't stop and grab a bullhorn and stand on some rubble and act like a
commander in chief. Been there done that.
There will be those who will try to politicize this tragedy and try to use it
against you. Just have your people keep pointing that out. Respond to nothing.
Even those pesky scientists who predicted this would happen because the water in
the Gulf of Mexico is getting hotter and hotter making a storm like this
inevitable. Ignore them and all their global warming Chicken Littles. There is
nothing unusual about a hurricane that was so wide it would be like having one
F-4 tornado that stretched from New York to Cleveland.
No, Mr. Bush, you just stay the course. It's not your fault that 30 percent of
New Orleans lives in poverty or that tens of thousands had no transportation to
get out of town. C'mon, they're black! I mean, it's not like this happened to
Kennebunkport. Can you imagine leaving white people on their roofs for five
days? Don't make me laugh! Race has nothing -- NOTHING -- to do with this!
You hang in there, Mr. Bush. Just try to find a few of our Army helicopters and
send them there. Pretend the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast are near
Tikrit.

I agree with Michael Moore's politics, but I think his skills as a documentarian are lacking. A good documentary presents the facts in a way that the viewer draws their own logical conclusion. In Bowling and Fahrenheit Michael Moore had a narration going, spelling out for the viewer exactly what conclusions they should be drawing. Also, some of his arguments could have been much more tightly made. The Simpsons and South Park kick his ass any day when it comes to profound socio-political commentary.

If you think about it,the only issue conservatives get elected with is TAX CUTS. Some may argue that conservatives uphold the Christian agenda and morals,which attract votes. Dr. Franklin: I think most Americans are too dumb to make the connection between taxes and the social services they enjoy. They are also too dumb to notice that the Republicans give way more tax breaks to the wealthy. I met Pat Buchanan in a speech at a dairy farm in PN a few years ago. He was giving a speech about NAFTA. He's a very nice guy in person. He talked with all the farmers after the speech one by one for an hour or so.

Just 40 yrs. ago most of the old and infirmed blacks we all saw suffering over the last eleven days were not able to even sit with those of us with white skin the waiting room, there was separate everything...bathrooms water fountains..you know the rest. Hell even their grandparents or great grandparents couldn't even marry. Many of them grew up with outdoor plumbing, no television, maybe they had a radio. alot of them have never owned their own homes...nor did their parents and their children don't either. The poverty of many southern blacks can not be understood if you have not seen it upclose.
The racist wing of the republican party would like it if they could turn the clock back 40 yrs. and have these.... niggers,negras,.... back in their place....washing, cooking, cleaning and raising their children. I'm in my 50's and was raised by my parents black servant. She was a wonderful caring hardworking single mother. Her daughter played with us in the yard but "knew her place in the house"....She worked 5 full and 2 1/2 days a week for 25 dollars a week in the late 50's and early 60's and this was common for many black women domestics. She lived in a 3 room "apt" with running water, and heat...but it did have out door plumbing...I remember when she got an indoor bathroom....I was so excited too. I loved that woman like my mother. When I matured I realized how accidents of birth should not mean such vastly different opportunities in America. Please pray for these fellow of Americans that have known so much unfairness in their lives. It breaks my heart that these men and women that suffered the socio-economic hell of the pre-civil rights south now must endure in the mid-night of their life this hell on earth.

I may be in a very small minority here, but I think this is really quite funny - and very, very clever. He talks about them "passively" depending on the government. (Most impoverished blacks I know are gainfully employed down here in the cheap-labor South.) He's too passively dependent on the government.

If most African Americans, especially those that have had to struggle most of their lives down here and have had to stand up to the KKK and other racists that think like Mark ever heard him talk like that to their faces, one of them would jack him for it. Mark's so passively dependent on the government to defend him in such an event that he can't defend himself. Down here in the Southern black hood, people don't call the police to resolve their conflicts. They either them out themselves, or they settle them one way, or another.

Racist white boys from upper-income families are too sheltered to understand this. They're raised to depend on the government to save their asses when they provoke somebody to lay them out by shooting off their snouts like Mark does.

Start the bittorrent client you want to use (Azureus, BitComet, ...), open the .torrent-file you downloaded from C&L and then you have to select the path where to save the file (window pops up automatically). VFW - that is what hap. to me when I first installed Bit Torrent. I'm sure we can solve this.

1. what torrent program are you using?

2. What browser program are you using?

In the meantime, try this.

Open your bit torrent program.

Go back to the browser and copy the torrent link.

Go back to your running torrent program. Click file menu - if there is a choice to "open url" then click that and paste in the torrent link. Hit okay. Your torrent should begin downloading. If it does then it is just a matter of changing one setting in your browser. I need to know what browser you are using to help with that.

Oh by the way, the torrent links on C & L are often broken. Go to legaltorrents.com to try the test. There is a small pdf torrent at or near the page bottom. This way it will be a quick test.

But if you expect your government to help, they will do whatever it takes to keep themselves in power. At the same time that they are rescuing people they are slowlying killing us by policies that increase short term profits but that saps people of life, liberty and the pursuit of hapiness. Cris - Not all Americans are crazy, although it's pretty hard to tell from scanning through the incredible amount of - let's face it - silly invective typical of spotty freshman college kids tanked up on far too much beer - and even worse, the idiots that think they're some kind of evil threat, 'terrorists' who threaten to off poor li'l puppy dogs, oh ma gosh! There are a few sane voices buried within as well (hello, again, ladyFrancesca!), if your taste runs more to having a sensible dialogue or even debate with a sensible opponent. Not enough, I give you that. Not nearly enough.

But bear in mind that regardless of any debate about who won the last election, there's a large percentage of Americans who didn't vote at all. Those who couldn't be bothered, those who were too intellectually challenged to make a choice (or find the polling station), those who have given up on the voting system altogether after too many years of gerrymandering and rigging and outright fraud. They are the party of the None of the Above. On that basis alone, they outnumber those who voted for George W. Bush.

Look at the numbers of Everyone Who Didn't Vote for Bush compared to the number of Everyone Who Did, and you start to see a slightly different make-up to the American political world. The Bush administration's hold on America is powerful only because of the weakness in the system, not the true will of the people he insists have given him a 'mandate' to do whatever he and his NeoCon ideologues decide they want.

I don't know if there's a solution. But please know, we are still, mostly, nice people. Just very, very, very frustrated and angry and have no way to make it right.

I'm Black and I think that it was totally inappropriate for Kanye to say such things. I'm no conservative and I'm not a liberal. I have experienced racism and I understand the disease that grips many African Americans. Not Knowing? It was easier in the past to tell who is racist. Today it is much harder. So when things happen you first try to put it in prospective. Then when you just can't fathom a reason, you reluctantly go down that road of racism. I hate the feeling of not knowing. In the past many African Americans thought they had good friend among white people (Who were good and kind and helpful) only to be betrayed when issues involving race came up. So I understand how many African Americans feel. But to resort to such retoric seldom solves any problems. I remember being critizied in High school because i said that the Black Student Union was a racist organization. But even then I understood the need to gather with people like yourself so that you can get rid of the feeling of not knowing, at least you knew that if someone rejected you it was not because you were black. You can make law against racism but you can't change what's in a persons heart. And that is the great failure of Religions today. So calling a person a racist does not make him change.

My 81-year old MIL is a two-time breast-cancer survivor who just finished radiation and had to take out a payday loan against her SS check just to get plane fare to Houston on Southwest-about $50-$60 for a senior citizen. Jake - very nice comment, I enjoyed reading that. Some years ago, there was a piece on the news about a group of artists who had joined together to each of them to paint or sculpt for an exhibition commemorating the Civil Rights Marches and Martin Luther King, Jr. MLK, Jr., has long been one of my heroes, and as an artist I was very interested in this exhibition... until it was repeated several times that ALL of the artists were black. It was to be a black-only exhibition. It was to be a showcase for black only art.

As a white person, I was offended. The whole point of the Civil Rights Movement was equality. As a painter who had grown up and experienced those times, I would have had something to contribute, but felt as if, somehow, the Civil Rights Movement had become the sole perogative of blacks.

The States is a deeply divided country. As I've said somewhere in this blog before, we did make progress... for a while... then it stalled. We stopped talking to each other. Assumptions were made and never challenged. Laws don't change people's hearts, all they were capable of doing - which was right and good - was to force us all together in ways that we couldn't help but talk.

I hope that one thing that does come out of Katrina will be a shock to the system for blacks and whites, and we start getting over the fear - of offending anyone, of not feeling entitled to have an opinion because we aren't a 'member' of that group, of just not knowing what to say. And talk.

Anon - so true. I wish i shared your hope. But I don't think many people want to hear things unless it supports a belief they don't want to get rid of. For instance, there was a wonderful book published some years ago, writtten by an African American journalist who was stationed in Africa, I believe it was called 'Out of America.' This man was demonized by so called black leaders for telling the truth about the corruption in almost all African countries. He stated that he was glad his ancestors was taken from Africa and brought to America so that he could reside in a sane country. Now I read his book and he never said he was happy about the treatment of slave, he also acknowledge that shame colonialism but he did not use that as an excuse to pass judgement on these evil corrupt leaders who live in shameless luxury while the people die of hunger. I've been to Africa and I'm glad to live in the US. That doesn't mean I don't recognize it's problems too, for it corruption is just as great. Some of my friends avoid certain subjects with me because they don't want to hear what i believe. Because it does not support what they believe. Believe me, I am in fear and in dispair about what is ahead for this country. The divsions and hatreds just seem to deepen. There is no longer any civil discord. Just look at the comments on this board, such hatred. Most people are blinded by what their own government is doing to them and these things are not secret. I feel I just have to look after myself and my family. Sorry this is such a downer. But this is how I feel about what I see and read.

Besides, I've always hated this political correctness. I feel that this business of pretending that all is well, when it isn't only makes matters worse. Jake - Wow! I remember that guy, a black journalist in Somalia, I think it was. He wrote a column about it for the NYTimes and I've got it somewhere, clipped and in a file (you do not want to see my office). I didn't realize he'd actually written a book. Please remind me what his name is, I'm going straight to Amazon.

I spoke not that long ago with a young British black (as in of African descent because in the UK the word 'black' is a broad description that also includes those from northern and western Asia (Pakistan, India, etc.). His sister had married an American and he'd gone to visit her in D.C. He had thought Britain had racial problems - which it does - but all he could think of when he got back was, 'Thank God I'm British!'

I don't want to use that horrible phrase 'Some of my friends are black' because I do have friends who happen to be black. It just doesn't really factor that much into our daily lives - they're just friends who write and paint and argue about whose football (soccer) team is better. And, paradoxically, BECAUSE it isn't a major factor, we feel a lot more comfortable talking about race.

I'm (slightly!) older than you. I remember the South in the sixties and seventies - believe me, they were bad, bad times. But white people marched alongside blacks then, white people also died alongside blacks then. There are, truly, more of us than 'them'. The racists, on both sides, who want nothing more than the grudge match to keep on going.

The vast majority of the stupid comments on this blog make me think that the average age group writing on it is about... mmmm... 19. This blogsite isn't a good barometer of 'most people'. Please believe me, there are more good guys out there than you might think. Don't give up.

What if someone said on national TV that Black are inferior, would that make it so? Would it be OK for someone to say that if it was from their heart. We live in the oldest democracy in the world. We are the richest and most powerful nation in the world. Our country's land mass is huge and rich in resources. All of our lives we hear grandiose, ebullient screeds about how good and idealistic we are designed to pump us up and make us proud. Yet we have one of the highest rates of murder, rape, and property crimes in the world. we are one of if not number one among nations in per capita prison population. We have one of largest gaps between rich and poor. Ninety percent of the wealth of this country resides with less than 20 percent of the population 80 percent of the wealth resides with less than 5 percent of the population and it getting worse every year. Are you beginning to see a pattern emerge here.

The first thing you should see is that 20 percent of the population is the richest and most powerful nation in the world.

The second thing you should understand
is these people control and run this country.

The third thing you should begin to fathom is that these people have absolutely no interest in sharing these responsibilities with you.

Those taxes that you complain about, those are spent and directed by these people. You don't have a fucking thing to say about it. But don't judge to harshly they make sure that your money is spent wisely, namely by enriching them. When welfare was in its heyday(AFDC and food stamps)it comprised one percent of the cumulative budgets of states and federal government. In terms of runaway federal spending it amounts to about as much as the pentagon can't account for in a year.

All of this really begs the questions. Why do 50 percent of the people vote against almost all of their interests? Why does the other half vote against two thirds of their interests? I will tell you why. Because the ruling class spends billions of dollars every year telling you what your interests are. They also tell you who to hate, usually it is some brown or yellow people over seas, but it is also each other. gays, blacks, poor people, southerners , northerners, westerners, new englanders, unionists, scabs, communists, liberals and conservatives, feminists, enviromentalists you name it there will be someone to hate it or them. It sure takes the focus off the ruling class doesn't it. Those wonderful captains of industry, the bankers, financiers, Wall St.

You are making the assumption that I don't have respect for our countries welfare system, I under stand and agree that there is and always be a need for government assistance to those special cases.

But aside from those people who really deserve it, there are those who manipulate the system. Now you can't tell me that the majority of the thousands of people from the flooded government projects were disabled or had lost the family bread winner.

Being generous maybe 30% of them...maybe.

What about the rest?

You can have a good living with cheap housing and free food if you decide to choose so, the price you pay is you have to work at manipulation.

I'm not talking about just New Orleans, I moved from that area 10 years ago to live in Houston, I don't know just how good of an indication this is, but at the Government housing complex down the street from where I live, the cars in the parking lot are always much nicer than the apartments that I live in.

I think the welfare system is flawed; there are too many people who don't deserve it living better than the bottom end working class.

That goes for white people too, although in Louisiana and Houston I just don't see them when I pass through the government neighborhoods.

With a welfare system that is so easy to manipulate its hard not to look for a reason, I truly think that it's a system designed to keep people from really having to work to live.

When people depend on that system, that was mostly designed and is still maintained by the Left, those people become very loyal to the people who run the system…aka..Voting power.

You can’t sit there and truly tell me there is no connection.

The Left sit there and love the fact that they think their smarter than the minority population, like they have them in their pocket and can manipulate them at will.

There is a serious need for reform across the board; the government should do all that it can to empower the less fortunate, and have better ways to weed out those who don’t deserve it.

Many poor people are uneducated and also lack the social skills needed to do what you say they can. It's also harder to deal with, say landlords, when you are dressed in rags and may need a bath and a meal. {You "Christian" thugs would have turned away the raggedy Jesus.) Saying things like that is sooooo easy for garbage like you - garbage who never missed a meal or slept in the street.

The powers that be have seen the light, and Mark Williams has lost his radio gig at KFBK Sacramento.

Mark was nothing more than a one trick pony, an angry white guy with a microphone, preaching the same handful of messages to his choir of sycophants ad infinitum.

He single-handedly did more to hurt KFBK's image and reputation in the community it serves than anyone else has in recent memory. Working in downtown Sacramento, I've seen Mark go so far as to pass himself off as a KFBK "reporter" at various rallies to further his special blend of xenophobia, hypocrisy and rage. Listening to what he had to say on the air about it later, Mark was about as far from being a journalist covering an event in a non-biased, objective way as one can be.

Reading the guestbook at his website - marktalk.com - one will see a couple of companies have pulled their advertising from his old station. I can only imagine the number of companies out there now who will be willing to spend their advertising money at KFBK now that Mark is gone.

Why is it the most vocal supporters of sending our troops into harm's way - like Mark - have never served this country themselves? Why do they always expect others to do the heavy lifting for them? This honorably discharged veteran wants to know why Mark could never be bothered to wear the very uniform he supports, never swore an oath to defend the flag and Constitution he hides behind. I'd be willing to bet if it was a Democratic president who'd started a war in Iraq based on bad intelligence, Mark would be all for pulling our troops out posthaste, calling for the head of that administration at every opportunity. But because a Republican simpleton who barely speaks English decided to go in and finish the job his father failed to do 15 years ago, suddenly it's damn the torpedoes, full steam ahead.

I also find it ironic Mark has "Casey the Pound Puppy" representing those poor Iraqis caught in the middle of the war in their country - I'm sure they appreciate being compared to a dog. In addition to that, Mark went to Iraq himself on a 2 week PR junket several months ago. I went to Mark's website, which has a link to a photo gallery of his trip to Iraq at KFBK's website. With the exception of a picture of some Iraqi laborers in a sandstorm, there isn't a single picture of your average everyday Iraqi citizen. Not one. More importantly, there isn't a single photo of one of the Iraqi nationals who've been helped by the money Casey the Pound Puppy has raised. Why not? Where are these poor Iraqis you're helping, Mark? Sally Struthers goes to Africa and walks amongst kids with bloated bellies and flies on their faces. Jerry Lewis manages to showcase a child or two his organization helps during his annual telethon. Yet not even your personal website contains one photo, one story of an Iraqi the money raised by Casey the Pound Puppy - who I'm willing to bet lives a life of luxury the people your dog is supposedly helping can barely conceive of - has helped. Why is that, Mark? How come you're so anxious to help the poor and suffering in Iraq before helping out at home, in communities right here in northern California? Why are your fellow Americans any less deserving of your concern, charity and generosity? Why not help repair a school in your neighborhood? Donate blood so Americans who have suffered tragedy or disease right here at home can live to see their children grow up safe and sound? Why not raise funds for your local food bank or to help pay for programs designed to help your fellow Americans who have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own? Another thing about your little vacation to Iraq. Dozens of real reporters go out on patrols, getting kidnapped, hurt and killed trying to cover the war. Putting themselves in harm's way everyday for media outlets all over the world. Judging from the pictures on KFBK's website, you and Holly went over and stayed behind the sand bags and barbed wire of a US military camp, and in the few times you left, you were probably escorted by a platoon of soldiers who were ready to die in order to keep your bermuda shorts and sunglasses from getting dirty. Instead of Holly playing reporter and you playing soldier, perhaps the two of you should have worn little skirts and carried pom-poms. It would have suited your roles as pro-war cheerleaders much better.

Let's look at your comments to the Sacramento Bee about your firing.

So... your boss tells you to tweak your show a few months ago. A couple of cosmetic changes that probably wouldn't have undermined your overall radio show and kept you on the air. When you didn't, you got fired. Interesting - I know if my boss told me to do something and I basically ignored him, I don't think I could expect to work there much longer either. Yet instead of accepting the responsibility for making the decision not to heed your boss' requests and expectations and losing your job as a result, you put the blame squarely on KFBK for concocting some kind of "liberal conspiracy" to shut you down. No, you weren't too conservative. You're too full of yourself and believe your own hype. You thought yourself invincible in a business where change is the norm. You yourself pointed out it wasn't anything you said on the air... remember?

Local voice? How long have you lived in the Sacramento area? Didn't you come from somewhere on the East Coast? The only way you could be considered a local voice is because people around here could listen to your program.

One last little gem from the Minister of Disinformation:

"Williams said his hope for KFBK is that the station not replace him with a bland syndicated conservative host."

Looks like you got your wish, Mark.

You're a fraud, Williams. Neither you or your wife have ever served this country. You add insult to injury by comparing Iraqis to a dog who lives better than they do. You have no examples of how the money Casey the Pound Puppy has raised makes the lives of Iraqis better. You get taken off the air because your ratings are in the toilet and people have grown tired of your hate speech demagoguery. Several dozen people have written on your website about the fact they'll never listen to KFBK again. Based on the hate, anger and illiteracy of their posts, I'd venture to say KFBK's management is probably better off, as well as the vast majority of listeners who don't share in the vitriol of your tired, knee-jerk ranting and raving.

Funny, you never mention how many people during your run at KFBK must have called or written and asked KFBK to pull you off the air. I'm willing to bet it far outnumbers the little mob on your website.

Why do producers give these people air time? What are they thinking?

Producer: "Hmmm, there is a crazy radio personality willing to make racist remarks openly to yell at the sane educated guy we are going to have on our show. "
Director:"What a great idea, lets get him on."

It reminds me of Jerry Springer with the idiot KKK creeps. That has bled over to what used to be real news programs.

So, who should I be directing my outrage at? The lunatics or the people that empower them?

IMHO, there's nothing wrong with giving air time to trash like this guy. People like this exist, whether they go on the air or not. The media should broadcast people from all sectors of society, so that we can measure what the society is like.

Now, what's truly shameful is the weakness with which these people are confronted. It's one thing to be respectful of them, but another very different thing to let them treat you like dirt the way this SOB did.

I think Morris should have been way more focused on the replies. Saying "that's atrocious, sickening" and explaining the sick bastard things that he doesn't care about doesn't help fully expose imbeciles like Williams. Their rationale and their implications should be dissected on the spot and displayed in front of their faces for the whole world to see.

But maybe rats like Williams would never be able to hold a rational discussion.
