somehow, someway the military has to come to the understanding that people who have never served, in fact they ran from service or were too cowardice to even fulfill their guard duty these are the people who are now calling the shots and sayingtaht kerry, max cleland, and john murtha who all served and gave, these are cut and run cowards. our military has to stand and defend its own. why are they rallying to the side of those who have never served, who have profiteered by this war, have shortchanged them with equipment and will not support them with benefits or veterans' hospitals when they return. This is one of the first thing that has to change when and if the Democrats are back in power. There needs to be some sort of responsibility that comes with the ability to broadcast. If he can say such slanderous lies on the air then there ought to be a law that makes him back up his claim. I usually don't bother with the serious wingnuts. I just assume 99% of what they say is a lie. Pointing out their lies can often feel like shooting fish in a barrel. But lately their rhetoric seems to have reached new levels egregious heartlessness and slander. First with Coulter, who would literally say anything to make a hot buck. And now this statement by Lintball, which doesn't get much lower or more misleading. Of course, no one on the left who is sane is cheering such a tragedy. Of course, what they are (or should be) pointing out is that Zarqawi's death has had little or no impact on slowing the insurgency or violence. He was replaced within days, making the Iraqi government look even more bumbling and disorganized in comparison.

I originally poseted this comment in the section entitled RIP, but it seems even more appropriate here considering Rush is exploiting this tragedy for his own ends which is primarly to make a buck. Hmmm. Exploiting a family tragedy for profit, I guess he beat Ann Coulter to the punch.

Here was my other comment:

I would like to put any of my feelings about the politics of this war aside for a moment and say: To the families of those two soldiers who have suffered such a great loss, I appreciate the sacrifice that they have made in the service of our country. I solute Pfc. Kristian Menchaca and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker. I am deeply saddened by the suffering that they had endured. I am saddened by the impact that their deaths will have on your family.

So many people get so cought up in what thier opinions are, that they simply consider this as just another part of a debate. This is true for those both for the war and against it.

What is lost in the discussion is that our service members are mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles. Some, as in the case of my cousin, are even grandparents.

I wish that the loss of these Americans would not exploited by either side.

I would only ask that anyone reading this message, take a deep breath and reflect in silence about what it means to loose a loved one like Pfc. Kristian Menchaca and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker and what it means to their families.

I am sure that everyone on all of the news outlets will be rushing to exploit this tragedy as much as possible for their own benefit. What should be happening is rather than use this tragedy so that America can be more divided and framing a debate for shallow political ends, we should be reflecting on what is best for our soldiers.

Soldiers do volunteer. When they die it is arguable they brought about their own demise. Why anyone would volunteer for today’s military is beyond my comprehension. A rudimentary level of knowledge about the civilian leadership commanding your actions should cause you to abstain from service. If enough people refuse service they’d have to bring back the draft. Then we all should refuse to report. What are there, maybe 50 million people in the nation draft eligible in terms of age and physical condition? Where do you jail 50 million people refusing to respond to a draft? It is within the power of the people to topple this regime. Walk away from the military. If you don’t and you die because of it you literally asked for it. Pity the orphans, the widows and widowers, the siblings and parents robbed of a loved one. Don’t pity the soldier unless you’re lamenting them for their stupidity and blind allegiance to the criminal, genocidal class that rules our nation.

We know that Rush sleeps well in drugland. I just hope that he starts taking one of the new sleeping pills, sleepwalks, gives Anne Coulter a ride home from the tooth sharpener or venom implanter that she uses, and then Rush drives them both off a cliff. The young soldiers who died are more likely to be our children or the children of our neighbors than they ever would be the children of these heartless, selfish, nonereproducing monsters. We are grieving with the parents and loved ones of the soldiers. The neocons are so desperate, so hungry for anything to divert attention away from their incompetence and failure that they will slander anyone who gets in their way.

Rush Limbaugh is a professional and pathological liar. What would he actually have to talk about if he spoke anything remotely like the truth? He'd have to spend his entire program dissing Dubya! He'd have to talk about how horrible a job that the GOP has done since it took absolute power over Congress, the White House and the Supreme Court. He'd have to admit to his listeners that he was wrong about Iraq, wrong about the "War on Terra" and wrong to support Dubya in the first place.

All Rush has to offer are LIES, LIES and MORE LIES. He has to make his base think that we Liberals so hate the troop and so hate this country that we should be ignored and kept away from power at any cost. This, despite the fact that the ONLY people supporting the troops at this point are the ones who say BRING THEM HOME!

No one should be the last man to die for a mistake. Not one more drop of American blood should be shed for Iraq. Our tax dollars and the lives of our citizens are being depleted at a rapid pace. The pockets of Halliburton and other private contractors are lined with the hard-earned money of the American taxpayer and with the blood of American soldiers.

Here's what Rush SHOULD be saying:

"Iraq is a quagmire. Iraq is a disaster. Iraq is in a de facto civil war, and the best thing that we could do is get out of their way and let them kill each other until they are sick enough of it that they will try to get along."

People like Limberballs do and say whatevr they please because they know no one is going to do a damn thing about it. Well, those days may well be coming to an abrupt end.

Rush is obviously lying about perusing the kook-left blogs. My bet is he is lying about Bob C. in Roanoke as well. It is either a fictional email or it is a put up. "cut and run" is the new slogan the grease pigs in the RNC have come up with to characterise the Democrats war strategy as opposed to stay the course - the much more noble sounding and infinitely more stupid characterization of their own failed strategy.

Rush is a serial liar as are his masters in the Republican party. There is no reason to believe that he recieved the email. There is probably a lot more reason to believe he made it up. First of all it is an insipid email. Who would feel compelled to write something like that unless it was a Rovian provocateur who prearranged it with Rush not forgetting to use their belittling slogan comprised of monosyllabic words that their base can understand and rehearse.
