As I read the story of the 71 year old Mrs Caskey, my thought was how the heart of our Father must be breaking to see His church placed in such a ungodly light. First the so called pastor needs a true dose of Jesus and the leadership of the church need to read the scripture to see just how they are to function. Mrs. Caskey, I pray you are found not guilty,and the so called pastor must pay court cost and repay your money.
I agree. I pray that God brings this false church to it's knees. There is no scriptural support for the actions of this false pastor and the remaining deacons that comprise the board. Pastor Jason Burrick, you are anathema and I hope God deals severely with you for misusing the authority of your position to hurt rather than heal people. I would also suggest the congregation call for an immediate audit of the church funds. Probably a lot going on there that isn't legal.
I think that those who read this article should immediately fall to their knees in prayer for all involved, especially the pastor. God is not above forgiving this man for his errors, and we shouldn't be, either. And Ms. Caskey needs God's peace and strength to follow this through in His Will. Let's pray that God's Will be done in this church as a perfect witness to the people of the community and God's glory.
I think before we all pass judgment on the church leadership, we should all remember that we are hearing only one side on the story. I agree that it sounds terrible! The proper response here is that the truth would be revealed and that the Holy Spirit would correct all involved.
As a personal friend of Karolyn Caskey I need to say that what happenened to this wonderful senior lady is undicribable, this lady is a giver and a doer, gives you without asking,and do for you without asking, was the biger supporter of this small church where she has been attending for 50 years and despite all the problems and been asked to leave the church she decided to stay because this was her church, she was one of the highest members but this so call new pastor got rid of all the heads of the church saying he will take care of all including the church money, sent must of the members letters asking to leave the church, she was the one who put the most money as a member and when the church needed extra money for anything she was the one who gave it, she was the one paying for cable to this new pastorBurrick (if can be called pastor, a 27 years old big overweight person who came to ruin this small but wonderful church that is turning now seems like it in a cult. Poor Karolyn at 71 years of age, with 2 hips and knees replacements had to be humiliated taking her out of the service in hand cuffs and take to jail all from the house of GOD, This man needs to be out of this church but the question is how to do it.

I too have heard only one side of this problem, and have experienced something similar at a church in a nearby town. The problem here is scripture was violated by Mrs. Caskey by retaining a lawyer in this matter! 1Cor. 6:1-12 is pretty explicit on her action. Seeing how this church's leadership was taken over and supported by enough of the congregation to vote this fella in, her only recourse, Biblically, is to persuade those members to her point of veiw. If that is not successful, then, even with all that she has invested at that place, she, must SEPARATE herself and find another church that she agrees with. That's what happened with over 50 members at a nearby church in Marshall, when the pastor went off the deep-end doctinally. Many had invested much in that work! But we didn't have the votes! We left everything to stay true to what we belived God's Word teaches. And you know what God has blessed us with a building, and we are all stronger Christians because of it! It's God's church, not ours!
As a Christian broadcaster, I can attest to the fact that this situation is being repeated all over the country. Wet behind the ears pastors, fresh from the latest whiz-bang church growth or leadership conference, head back to their churches with stars in their eyes, ready to build the next Saddleback.

Better yet, find some nubile young high school girls and put them up in front of the alter to sway and twitch to "praise and worship" tunes for 45 minutes. Only old school pastors actually open a Bible and get on their knees to get sermon material these days. Hip pastors use movie clips from wingclips.com or download Rick Warren sermons from pastors.com. That way they can hit the links on Saturday instead of studying the Word.

How do you discern a con man who is enriching himself from a Warrenizer?
This sounds exactly like a Warren-type attitude. I have started to network with friends at church in order to put a check on leaders who are doing this because if they keep this Warren attitude, and by advising one of the board members responsible for finding a new associate pastor, I am using sites like these to warn people that it's not permissable.
Rick Warren's attitude reminds of the Saul Alinsky tactics of the late leftist leader who taught Hillary Clinton, among other leaders. In the late Barbara Olson's book Hell to Pay, Mrs. Olson (killed on AA77 by Usama's Henchmen; widower Ted Olson was the United States Solicitor General at the time) noted the Alinsky tactics were trash the opposition without regards for anything to push your agenda.
To force people out like this is intended to push the dictatorial mandates of the Warrenites who are destroying churches and creating clubs. The "music" and dancing girls belong in the dance studio, NOT in the church for a worship service.

Coram Deo, I have researched and discovered that Burrick is a Hyles graduate, not a follower of Rick Warren. And graduates of Hyles-Anderson College, beleive, shut down all competition when it comes to the sheer number of men in the ministry that school has unleasehd who have engaged in every perversion under the sun. Hyles makes Warren look like an angel.

We've addressed the abusive in Purpose Driven churches for several years now, but you are one of the few who has consistently pointed out the abuses of fundamentalism, of which Hyles graduates provide Exhibit A. That book will stay with me all my life because it showed the abuses of schools and men like Hyles but also showed what true Christian grace looks like.

Churches need to wake up to the doctrines of biblical church government and the necessity of RULE OF LAW vs RULE BY MONARCH. Every church needs a good church constitution that spells out how authority is distributed and what the grievance processes are. And no, that pastor had no right to expel a woman unless she had been living in open, shameless, heinous sin. The fact that she disagreed with him was insufficient. he is another Diotrepehes, who loves to have the preeminence.
And it is time that Baptists realize that a sole elder is not a biblical form of government, and total control in the hands of the pastor is not biblical either. In the New testament, grievances, disputes, and big questions were taken to the Council at Jerusalem, which settled decisions and sent out missionaries at large. Local churchb autonomy, on the scale it is practiced today, was NOT practiced in the New Testament. Representatives met at Jerusalem and made decisions together.
As for the little old woman, I say, three cheers for her warfare, and three cheers for her courage. Separate, nothing! She's got nearly 50 years invested in that church.
Let her go to war if she's willing and able, and fight for what the Lord gave her when that church was good. She is fighting injustice, unbiblical tyranny in the pulpit, bad church government, and heretical doctrine (if I know my HAC preachers, and I do). Little old ladies like her may just rattle the Christian world, and I hope she does! And may the Lord vindicate her in this matter. It's been so long since I hashed this out that I cannot even recall. But I think searching for best known names of men of theological ability will get results. Briefly, you can just refer to the Book of Acts where ever the Council at Jerusalem is mentioned, and you'll see it was an authoritative ruling body.
I know this church in allen. They even have bouncers posted at the doors to keep out people that they don`t want. God will deal with this minister . The church belongs to god not man and should be used to win people to christ not drive them It certainly shows his lack of communication with god in the way he is pastoring this lovely church in this small community. I pray that this lovely lady will take this as far as the lord wants to see her church restored to a christian church and away from a dictatoship.

Judy, men who profess to obey God need to deal with this church in the here and now. There is such a thing as church discipline, and they need to exercise it and get Jason Burrick out of that pastorate.
My own efforts in that matter have been incredibly hindered by a faction of Rick Warren haters who used the Jason Burrick situation to flood the editor of the local paper with anti-Rick Warren letters: long, pointless letters, as Jason Burrick is NOT a follower of Rick Warren. Now I'm not all that keen on Rick Warren, but this matter has nothing to do with him, and the people who wrote those letters should have checked before reacting.
One good method always to employ in these situations is to get the facts straight. Burrick is a Hyles-Anderson graduate and would have nothing to do with Rick Warren. But because the editor of the paper has been flooded with letters, he doesn't know what or who Burrick is. Being so fanatically antagonistic against a person that you seize every opportunity, even opportunities that are way off point to get on a soapbox is BAD. And I say that as a person who tries to catch and document and act in these cases of Hyles men abusing their churches.
First, get the facts. Verify them, and then write BRIEF, informative e-mails. You'll be more effective, look less silly, and maintain your credibility. Thanks to a lot of pointless e-mails that were long and rabid, I doubt the editor will print anything.

I did not say anything about rick warren. I don`t understand where you got that idea from me. I simply mean that the church in allen was a lovely church. We attend another church in our county a christian church by the way. I only meant that i felt that jacon Burrick is not leading this church in a christian way, instead i feel that he is not in touch with god in his ministry.. What he is doing is not scriptual in anyway shape or form. God is love for all people and men of god should show love and want to win sould to christ not drive them away from christ. I was reading about Jason Burrick college and in this site says that in the first 2 months he brough 91 people attendants, LOL this was a special potluck dinner the church put to welcome him as a new pastor and most of those 91 peoples, was people and friends he brought from the church he was coming from where he was a youth minister, the rest was the few people that belonged to that small church who by now was realizing what a mistake they did by electing him for their pastor, so that statment on his college web site about him is WRONG. At this point after getting rid of all the members of that small church plus most of the attendands he was left with maybe 5 attendands, so he goes to another close cities to bring whoever he finds in the streets to this church, BUT seeems now still only have 12 to 15 atendands. Two sundays ago was a small rally by that church of people with signs supporting Mrs Caskey, I was one of them and even people who dont go to that church but dont agree with what is going on, we was sure to stay away from the church property or he would called the cops on us like he did to Mrs Caskey, no more than a hand full of people enter the church that sunday (2 weeks ago) the 3 big bauncer he brought with him were in the small church porch like ready to attack, they are always there, well, a sunday after that (last sunday seems like no one came to church, seems like the small rally scared the handfull of attendands that he have left. one of his sermons as sooon as ke took over went like this: I WAS TURNING OVER TO SATAN FOR THE DESTRUCTION OF THE FLESH, if we could send a 14 page letter explaining his exact behavior we would sent it to you, the 5 attendands left have been brain wash and are in his side now, like I said before this is a CULT now, just hope those few attendands he have now dont drink that cooley. some people in this site are asking: why she (Mrs Caskey) just didn leave the church and go find another one? WHY SHOUD SHE? that had been her second home for 50 years to have some crazy person asking her to leave because she wasnt putting all that money in the plate any more? She always went to Fla for the winters and attended church there but always comeback to her church here and that was never a problem for the previous pastors they all always loved her and respected her as a person and as a member. I dont know how he is going to pay for his cable now that she is not paying it for him. Well this is my last letter here, others can talk all they one but no one can know the truth unless you had seeing it with your own eyes, seems like now all he have left is his 3 big bouncers he brought with him to this church.

I'm glad you told us this much. I hate to see this church close down from lack of support. But believe me, that woudl be better than having a Hyles-Anderson pastor in your town. Whether it's from bankrupting himself or because somebody is able to throw him out based on the church constitution, I hope he is put out and goes into a different line of work.

juat happen to be one of thosethat were thrown out of the church, there were four elders that wanted him to go by our constitution, and he said sure so we all voted this man to our church,
ever since then until Jan of this yr, did he do or go by our constitution, at all. it took a lawyer to get him on the ball at this point, he put us back into church, didnt go before the people and let the people vote us back in, and then told us we all have no voting rights or say-so of anything,
then he turned around and said we werent there all the time, and voted us back out of the church with new nmembers, and they werent even qualififed to vote either,, we
were constantly ask about the dress code for women, see the bath room doors, (the pictures on the doors)
made quilts for medical Builing in Hillsdale, said no we couldn't do them in church.
couldnt order flower for the sick and etc, . couldnt make up the communion cups for communion, even tough the men served it up stairs,
my husband ask him what is there left for the women to do, (Mop floors and wash windows)
we were voted into different positions before he came there, such as someone to be in charge of sending cards, to sick and etc, gifts for the elders, (Shut ins) at home, the quilts for medical facility in Hillsdale flowers for funerals and sick, we were gradually stripped from all our positions, said we were to follow him 100% or find another church
or it (WONT BE PRETTY) his words,
we were called about the worse names
people I could go on and on as what has gone wrong in this church,

Every time that we had a meeting, Kaorlyn would ask to have Burrick put
on the floor about the constitution and he would respond later , not now
later never came,
Ruth one of the others that were thrown out with the bath water, she was the clerk,, every time she would
put into the minutes, that all those positions, Deacons and etc, wasn't being fulfilled, she wrote this stuff down in the minutes, Well Burrick didnt like that . So Burrick took Dan and went to her house and said I need to read those books, and he took the books from her,, Why because he didnt like what she was putting in the records,about not voting in a Deacon and etc, YOu know this is church records, he has no rights to take these books from her, she had been voted in to do this job . by the people. Before he came there. he was suppose to go before the church and let the people vote on this stuff, not just come and take it all from her. she really has been a clerk there for many, many years.
One week he would say hello and then next time when you came in, he would treat you terrible
One time he met us at the door, and told us that we were not welcome in the church, you have been voted out, we knew we could never be voted out for asking him to go by the constitution, but he said we were,out,

I sat there and finally I said I have had enough of this place, I cried and hugged this woman and told her good bye, I went to the door and looked to the right, there he was with his arms stretched out, boxing Karolyn Caskey back and forth like a foot ball player, back and forth, all she could do was to hang onto the rail to get past him, I thought OH MY LORD, what is wrong with this man, she finally got into the church. I went back in and set down, Karolyn Ruth and I , we sat there very quietly during the whole service, Poor Karolyn was so red in the face, my heart ached for her, as to how he was doing her out side, see he thought I was setting there when he ran to the door, that's when I finally got up to leave, and saw all this going down out there,
I would and could yell at him, if needed be, but Karolyn she would never say anything in church, she always has been very quiet in church.

want anyone to know what he had done to hurt us, he wouldnt even meet us at the church. adn this was nothing to compare the slanerous things of Karolyn
I don't think I have ever been so sadden and hurt over this, and to think he sent out letters to members with this verse plastered in the letter and other verses, We have been married 51 years and are very happy people trying to live for the Lord

I had left a roaster there , it had been there for a year. I told Dan to put it on back porch, and I would pick it up. they didnt leave it there, so I quietly went into the church, thinking it hadnt started as of yet, Burrick started his message, he saw me come in for the roaster, he yelled out right in his message , GEt her out of her, take her right on out the door, TO me . it only looked bad for him, especially ordering and yelling at an elder.

But God know's our hearts at that church, we had been treated so bad by Burrick, people started leaving right and left. screaming on the plat form, said he had broken his knuckles several times,
I have to tell some of this stuff people , because there is ANOTHER SIDE TO THE STORY AND SOME OF IT MUST BE TOLD,
Pat, I don't think this is silly stuff. I don't think anybody who respects the Lord Jesus Christ thinks that such loathsome behavior from a man who claims Christ and is a pastor is silly stuff. I think Jason Burrick is a vile person and very foolish, but I think he has made many innocent people suffer. And furthermore, more innocent people will suffer if he is not challenged.
Can you explain who Dan is? Is he an assistant pastor? Did he come with Burrick, or was he in the church before Burrick came?
Nobody reading your account would think it possible that the charges of I Cor 5:1-13 apply to you. And Burrick ought to take heed to himself and fear God more, for the man who so lightly calls upon the destruction of Satan imperils himself.

To every Christian there truly does come persecution, Pat, and it never comes at a time when we are powerful enough to deal with it, and it never comes openly as persecution. Nobody ever says to the Christian, "I am making you suffer because you are a Christian and I am not." It never works that way. All throughout history, Christians were persecuted on pretexts: because they were disloyal to the emperor, or rebels against the pope or were called witches or conspirators or bad sons and daughters, etc. But the reality is that the dark kingdom cannot abide the kingdom of God.
The man to whom Jesus gave sight was cast out of the synagogue by the elders of the synagogue because they said he had lied about being blind. He was excommunicated and put to a public shame. But the Lord Jesus came to him as his friend, and shortly thereafter, the Lord Jesus died for him and rose again.
Your suffering is part of a long chain of suffering that occurs when the children of God innocently and with good will extend kindness to a devil that comes in the robes of Christianity. But nobody who loves God and hears these things will condemn you. Burrick has already made quite clear what sort of person he is.
Your fight is bigger than you've realized, because all over the country there are Jason Burricks trying to seize power and be little popes of their own domain. And some of them have done even worse things than he has done: seducing women, breaking up marriages, assaulting children, beating them into submission and even worse things.
Don't let your heart be defeated by him and the wrathful things he does. He's foolish and a clown. Have faith in God to use you and the others to demonstrate that what Jason Burrick is has nothing to do with the Lord Jesus Christ and true Christianity.
You are doing great good to hold your ground and document these things, as is every other person who resists him and tries to seize back the church.

Dan Childs was a member at our church
before Burrick came there.
Dan has been a Deacon in JOnesville Baptist church for Years and also over in Likely Baptist church around in Oseo Mi area, I have known him over 35 years,
He told the Pastor that we were in need of a good pastor and would Burrick go by the Constitution, and Burrick said sure, we voted him in on his word.
He never wanted anyone to become a Deacon, BUrrick said to Dan and us that would take away his authority..
We then ask Dan, do you think you are qualified to be a Deacon, Dan said I think so
We then again said to Dan, have you ever been a Deacon before? and he said yes. which we knew already that he had been one.
I thought I knew Dan well enough to trust him with our lives. But Dan seemed to be taken in by Burrick. You see Burrick has a way. He can draw anyone into himself. and then yo soon find the other side of this animal.
Dan Childs works for the school, a Computer tek. he lives in Jonesville Mi his wife has a Day care business
he is around 50 yrs old. I had known him many years, and when the lawyer in Dec, ordered Burrick to go by the constitution Burrick then voted dan as a Deacon, and his wife took Ruth's clerk position, every position that was voted in at that point was Burrick, his wife, Dan and his wife,
Burrick said they were the only ones that were qualified to fulfill any positions of the church. so the church is run by the four of them.
You see Dan in all those meeting were never allowed to ask a question, Burrick always put his arm out in front of Dan, (That is to shut up) I'll do the talking.
Dan is the one that we had bragged about being such a good sunday school teacher in Fl. and we had gone to Dan several times to help us do something with Burrick

As of Yesterday Karolyn had gone to court and they dropped all charges against her, her record was cleared of all police records.
But we want this man out of this church if possible.
The town of Allen Mi, really want this man to leave this little town, they are really stirred up over what he has done, and is doing.
Burrick never showed up. Are we surprised though.
Once she hears from her lawyer. She say's she will be right back into the church. because he had no grounds to vote her out of the church at all.

I agree with pat church this preacher needs to go. I am a friend of a person that nce attended that church . My friend isn`t going anywhere right now just when she is in florida. We went to the church once a few years back and really enjoyed the congregation. Very friendly people. We attend the reading nazarene church as most of my husbands family have gone for years. If we didn`t have a home church we would certainly consider the allen baptist if that so called minister{cult leader} were not there. We are prayting for that church as are members of our church. We know god will prevail in this matter and rid this church of the evil that is in it now. We afre believing that someday soon it will again be a christian church open to all who are seeking god.

Once again it seems Burrick is coming to life, He has contacted the Coldwater news for printing his name wrong, Durrick instead of Burrick.
He told them that they put the cuffs on her outside, He is a liar, and he has been noted to tell several lies to his people. He is trying to clean up some of his doings. he also said it would make a bad impression for ohter churches around, Well Mr Burrick did you not quote to your people that there is not any churches around that is ran right except (ONE) his church. and besides your the one that is trying to destroy the churches. you canno't be a pastor and expect God to uphold you , to me your a piece of slime under a rock, You will fall to your knees before God one day and have to answer to all the stuff you have pulled off to all people and to God. and As I told Dan he will have to answer to God for the things that he has allowed to go on in that church and never once stood up for the people, Like you said to me one time Dan, (He is learning, remember Pat he is a new pastor, and Dan you told me from your mouth that you and his wife have told Burrick about his talk and actions before,

I spoke with Karolyn last night. What a remarkable woman! Gracious, kind, and made of iron (not counting the hip replacements!) Her spirits are good, and she is very clear in articulating her faith and confidence in God. Let us keep her in prayer. I think she is doing the right thing.
As for Burrick, he does need to be removed from the pulpit and be put out of the ministry. I have actually seen worse, but he is certainly bad enough. And I still believe that if his ultra-pragmatic theology, and his repentance-free view of salvation, and his burning drive to bring in numbers, is left unchallenged, then you have seen only the beginning of suffering in that church.
The Hyles-Anderson model of ethics, church rule, and the Christian life is wrong, unbiblical, and destructive. It has a history of great harm. So let's pray for the Lord to spare that church that was once a place of such love and kindness.

Jeri, I just wanted to say thanks for the site. I'm actually a bit dismayed that I had to learn about Hyles from a forum and from your site. None of the mainstream fundamentalist bloggers that I appreciate (though Ingrid appears to be working on something based on her comment here) seem to be tackling this issue.
I thought it was maybe because it's been around for a while, but some archive searches on some significant sites revealed NOTHING. I found your site via google when investigating Hyles for a while. Thanks for the great clearing house of information.
You're welcome. Fundamentalism tends to ignore (at times even deny and cover up) it's own dark side. And that dark side is very dark and grim. While wailing, berating, and lamenting against "the world," Fundamentalism will turn a blind eye to the exact same sins under its own umbrella.
Then again, the last thing I want is mindless, voluminous spamming of newspapers over the problems inherent in the Hyles model of pastoring. Having seen the way the detractors of Warren behaved so badly here and how they alienated the Hillsdale newspaper from addressing this matter in its Opinion columns, I would prefer them to stay away from this topic until they learn appropriate communication skills, like accuracy, precision, and brevity.
It isn't enough to be right. It's essential to be effective. And it's always essential to get the facts straight before writing.

Hold the HATE ! ! - - - - This Small Church has had problems for many Pastors.
(1) They ALWAYS select an uneducated Pastor, and they pay them poorly.
(2) They have a VERY warped idea of the role a "Church" and it's function.
(3) Church Membership is a "Club of Saints" rather than a "Hospital for Sinners".... of which even the Pastor belongs!
(4) They have a rich history of "Vaccinating" people against the
Gospel.

WOW! You're right! So writing a false letter about being excommunicated (when no such thing had happened) and then arresting a 71 year old woman because she KNEW she had not really been excommunicated HAD TO BE THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE THINGS.
Not paid well enough? Then of course the pastor had a right to seize the books, against the rules of the church constitution, so that he could generously start paying himself.
Man, you should have written ten days ago and saved us all this grief. Then we would have known right away that Jason Burrick is a poor, misunderstood saint! And what really lends him credibility is the fake name you supplied.

Burrick had been paid $350.00 a week
and all his expenses at home were paid
everything The church even offered to give him full insurance . and he said no.
Then when he saw that everyone was walking out , and some not tithing
he rduced his pay to $250.00 a week till the church could afford him. (he suggested this on his own). and this was only happened around Dec. or Jan of this yr.

There is no logical (or causal) tie between Burrick feeling underpaid and doing what he did to Karolyn and other church members. Lashing out right and left and writing falsified letters of excommunication are the reactions of a spoiled child--a spoiled child who tries to force his way. The best answer for the church is for Burrick to vacate the pulpit. If he had any decency left in him, he would go.

Burick has been paid to much for the size of this small church, all his bills are paid, even his cable this is what this small chucrch always has done for their pastors, John the baptis 5 points email are ridiculous, what does he knows? maybe he is another Hyles grad or want to be grad? Well we (a big group of Karolyns friends men and women will be close to this church today sunday to support this great and brave lady.

As for "John the Baptist," who seems to be claiming inside knowledge maybe he is Jason Burrick, himself. Or "Dan the Deacon." How else can a person ease his conscience over the unspeakable, except to say it's somebody else's fault? Just wondering.

Well once again we went to the little country church and once again Jason Burrick called the police. I think it took some time according to his conversation outside the church on his cell phone to convince the police to come, the Hillsdale sheriffs dept dint resppond to any calls, but maby Burrick only called the state police
They arrested Karolyn once again, the police was very nice to her and they didnt cuff her this time, took her back to jail, we followed her and she was right back out there on the picket line once more, what a woman . so proud of her. she is determined to stand up for what she believes is right by law and right in the sight of God.
we are proud of the Coldwater News (Reporter) they did a great job of being there. they ask us many questions. They simply cann't believe all this is being done to the elders of this church .
We sat at a little road side Resaturant there in Allen, MI. and found out there is another Church in the same area, the same kind of stuff is going on there, and guess what that one is from HYLES ANDERSON C.
It seems they are coming out of the walls. we shared some of our stories with them, and they are dealing with some-what the same things that we are confronted with.
Makes you wonder if this is some of the end-times problems coming to a head in this world we live in.
the reporter tried to snap a picture of Dan Childs and Burrick. but they would always turn their heads. the reporter did do a good job of getting information while they were there and many pictures too. Karoly look very worn out by the time she got back into Allen. Pray for her please Burrick went out of the drive way with a smile on his face, he's such a animal. He once again told her that she was trespassing on private properity

Reading through the site and not liking what I am reading
I have read through Jeri's page and I am glad to see that there are reports on preacher's who think they are "all that". HAC guys are all nuts until proven sane. Everything that is taught there is past reality. I have not gone to school there, but have been there numerous times at the school and at the college. I have not read anything on the blogs that I have balked at as being wrong. It's nuts. Just this last year my husband and I left our church. Pastors believe that they have no accountability. That is why they don't have deacons and if they do they silence them. I greve for the people who want true biblical fundamentalism. We have to fight the world ,why are we thinking that these wolves are not the world. Don't forget that Jesus said there will be wolves in sheeps clothing Prayerfully for you all in Michigan

Pat, he can always use Karolyn's mugshot! (!!) Rose, you are right on about the Hyles guys. The good ones either burn out and hit a huge spiritual crisis within five years of graduating, or else they realize that it was all garbage and they go back to the Bible to see what it really teaches. But the bad ones learn to seize power.
Please keep the Conference of the Lambs in your prayers if you will. I deal with people who have been through unspeakable abuses in churches run by these tyrants. It's very sad all the way around, as the "totally loyal" followers tend to abandon (or even attack) the victims.
Pat, Sara, this war may be bigger than you first thought. But you are in Christ, which is evident, and "all who live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution". Burrick condemns you but Christ commends you.

I am a member of the Clergy and this happened to me on Sunday, August 9, 1992, during Communion. God Himself is in charge. Christians discern and know this is to God's glory. I Burrick thought he won yesterday. think again. this man surely has a big problem
we saw once more the other side of this person. and it never bothered us at all. he wanted so bad to get us to cause a stink. and it never happened.
if from the way this man was jumping from seat to seat screaming and thinks that GOd is going to uplift him. Don't think GOd works that way.

we had around 22-23 supporters there for Krolyn and he had 12-15. plus we have about 15 outside,
its all about numbers with him. but he got out numbered yesterday. But I think God for the people that came there to see the real side of this man.

It's amazing what God will deal with. A man whose daughters bore his children is called righteous. A murdering adulterer writes poetry inspired by God and is called a man after God's own heart.
What I would love to see is Burrick get convicted by the Holy Spirit...watching God break a man to reuse him is something both beautiful and terrifying.

We still are puzzled as you had only been there about four weeks, and you got to sit in on the meeting with us, not the first , but the second meeting, this is why spoke out of turn in the meeting, so you could hear just how bad he treated us in the first meeting. all the slander and stuff, telling us he dared us to twictch a cheek , blink an eye, no crossing of the hands for arms, what you say and what you dont say will be against you do you understand, we thought Mr Brown doesnt even know us at all. But I thought you would see from another view as what was going on there. and you did say , there is things with him you didnt agree on , BUT HE WAS THE PASTOR. the first meetin he had us in there all by himself, screaming and yelling
he called it Slander. It was about our constitution only, he's good at labeling things diffent to fit his pocket . he gave us a paper stating slander of this pastor. and at the second meeting when Brown was there, he gave us the same paper, we said you gave us this same paper last week,
is this the first meeting or the second. He said well this is your first meeting. so he was all messed up as to what he was doing, couldnt tell first from second.
this is when Dan wanted to ask us something and pastor threw out his arm to shut Dan up.
But when I started telling what he did to us in the first meeting, he kept looking through the side of his glasses to see what MR BROWN was thinking at that point. He didnt like what I was tell these men at all, You see there wasnt anyone in the room the first trip to the pits . he slaughtered us four down there, just because we ask him to go by what he had been voted in on his promise.
according to his mom when we had the big 91 member (VISITORS) his mom sat beside me and said I am so happy for him that he got into this church, because he had been rejected by four other churches. why she said that to me I don't know to this day.
If this is the truth I would like to know what and were those churches were and why (IF SO) he was rejected by them. I have often wondered about this

Ruth your putting the wrong words in the book . the minutes. your own words. he had to say something to get them from her. I wouldn't have given them to him at all.they aren't his books, they are the church's and the people's books.

because when we had the last meeting , we ask to put on the floor the CONSTITUTION. He would always say later. NEVR GOT ON THE FLOOR PEOPLE>
And she had to put in the books, we never voted on Deacon and all the other officer positions. this was her job is to write down what's going on and what is said and what is not voted in or out. This is why he didnt like what she was saying, because he wasn't filling his obligations as he promised. this is exactly why they went out and took the books. Plus maby Burrick wanted to see first hand who was tithing, and etc.
another member carried the money to the bank, Ruth had nothing to do with that part, two of them counts the money. her books went to her place where she could write them down and it was recorded,also, a clear record of all things said and done at the meetings.
As Jesus said, "what is it to thee, follow thou me." those you are no longer welcomed at that church should move forward with Christ forgiveness to another church, etc. How can you be a Christian unless you integrate the Logos in your behavior. The Lord will judge the Pastor for better or for worse.
I the Flame of Christ Love is forgiveness.
Perhaps the Lord IS judging him by having so many witnesses come forward with the truth about Jason Burrick. If God is in control, He is in control of this as well.
We attended church again today
and once more Burrick started in on us again, as he always does,
He said he contacted all the churches around and evey one of them said they would not have any of us in their church. then he said I'll take them on. why he said this is because he had called 911 and the police and they put a hault to him, now we are in the church quietly setting there, and if he's taking us on, then why did he call 911, he's upset that we are there, and we have a right to be setting there. because he needs to take us before the church members that were there when he voted us out for asking him to go by the constitution as he had promised the people and he never has ever done that, because he doesn't want us to tell as to how he treated the four of us. IF all we ask for was to go before the people, then why didnt he contact us, by letter, phone or something, he called others, HE simply didnt want us to get before the people and hear what he had done to us. We deserve none of his treatments.
He voted us out and never notified us or anything, You people simply do not know the whole story as what went on with this man. When we went to church tonight, he called us Infidels and all kinds of names, still wanting us to make a fuss. So he can call the police.
When all this started we had ask him to go by the constitution of getting in a Deacon. He said I don't need a Deacon, It takes away my authority. From there it went to calling us name. Then he called it slande. From slander he labeled it Gossip. And we ask him to bring it forward as to who said what. He never did. and still hasn't. He called a meeting and voted us out. When we werent even there, we were away for the weekend. and we did find out from members that he never posted it, he called the ones he wanted to come while we were away, and I have proof of this from memebers. Because I personally contacted them.
At our first meeting he, all by himself. said sit here don't blink a eye, twitch a cheek, folding of arms, crossing of the hands what you say and what you don't say will be against you , do you understand. You will follow me 100% or it won.t be pretty. From that he started taking all the positions from us, said Deaconess are not bibica. We said then take it before the people and vote it out., NEVER HAPPENED. From that yelled at me because I ask our cleaning team to cover for me will gone for 3 weeks, he said everything goes through me 100%. do you understnd, I said if we have a cleaning committee for a year, Don't you think it would have been right to go to the committee. NO HE SAID< Everything goes THROUGH ME.
from that sending out flowers, said the lady wanted to go to hospital, he wanted to be in charge of flowers. that's fine do all these things, but have a meeting and vote it all out. once again since we had been voted in to do these job. that yr he came there, then go before the people and vote it out, making quilts, he wanted us to draw a picture as what the quilts would look like, we said its only three inch squares and sewing them back together for the Hillsdale Med Facility, for the wheel chairs, after all we had been doing church there for many many years, I ask him if he would put in the bulletin to do them and he said NO ONE TELLS ME WHAT TO DO> I said I didnt tell you, I ask you, NO Get the quilt material out of the church. Do it somewhere else.
This kind of stuff went on and on. From that we couldn't even send out cards, . and he constantly down loads on the women and their dress codes. and all the times he was taking away all the positions for the women, all we wanted this man to do is to go by the constitution as he had promised the people. we said if the constitution needs changes, change it , but go by the one we have until changes are made, everytime we put on the floor at meetings, to talk about all the positions , he woudl say later. And the clerk was putting in the meeting , things that wasn't getting voted on. He finally went and took all her books from her. He said he had to go 6 miles for the records, DON"T THINK SO PEOPLE< then why when he arrived at her house, did he say , your putting the wrong words in the records, WHY.? because it would be on record for later date that he wasnt doing exactly what he had promised the people. OH we dealt with this for a 1.1/2 years. Till all the older members left. When he came there we put our hearts into that church.
we would have done anything for this Pastor.Then we started sending our tithes to missions, and not into the church because how could we sit there and have him not going by what he had prommised the peopl. He said there was no one qulaified to be a Deaco. Well Dan had been one for about 12-15 yrs in other churchs. We ask Dan are you qualified to be a Deacon? He said I think so. So we had no deacon all that tim. Until finally had to see a lawyer and Jan of this yr. He was ordered to go by our constitutio. So he would put us back into church, and turn right back around and say we have no voting rights or say so of anything. Then he started to become more aggressive toward u. Like yelling for me to leave the church, I sat there and started to cr. Who is this person, and I started to leave, And I looked out on the side walk, and he was going back and forth blocking Karoly from side to side, like a foot ball fefence player, not to let her into the church, I thought OH, my I canno't believe what Im seeing, I decided to go back into the church and wait till she got in. When she got into the church she was so red in the face, two replace hips and knee.
He wanted to have a meeting with us and we finally said to ourselves we are not going down stairs to be treated this way. So all this went on week after week, until I simply couldnt deal with him any more, and calling us such slanderous names, forniactor, adulters and much , much more. People if you just sat in on some of this man's actions, you would be shocke. Until he finally thought well when Karolyn comes back from Fl, I will get her out and then all the older memebers will be out and as he had said. This is going to be a new church. then finally the last straw he pulled was 911, to have her arrested. twice this happened.
People I dont have the words to explain how he treated about 15 people that came to church tha week, he was about three inches of all their faces and continued to down load saying horrible thing to each of us last two weeks of July of this yr and this week. called us infidels and everthing he could say to us, and his people laughted at us. said he was very famous, over the web pages, and see how GOd is blessing me. he had tried three different times to say everything to us to get us mad, so he can call police. and we sit there, and listen to him and watch him leaping on top of seats jumping on top of Baptismal tanks, and screaming at us, SHUT YOUR EYES < SHUT YOUR EYES< LOOK UP HERE WHEN IM TALKING.
sai to some kids, Don't tell these mean people setting here, all the funny things we talked about in Sunday school, because these are mean people setting in here, and they want to go to papers and the web and tell a bunch of lies.
ALL WE WANT IS TO BE ABLE TO TELL IT JUST LIKE IT HAAPPENED OVER THE PAST YEAR< OUR CONSTITUTION < AND YET HE HAS BEEN SO BLIND TO IT ALL< AND WILL NOT LET THE PEOPLE BE HEARD.
IT's about the constitution people, it's not about gossip, slander and etc as he saysHE simply doesnt want all the people to know this other side of him, and all the mail he has sent to us, he made the remark that keep getting the letters, no one has ever send him a letter, email or anything. I had sent 4 or five emails to Dan , hoping he would stand up for the church and the people. and he was sending all the emails to Burrick. and then Burrick woudl say in church, getting your emails, I knew then that Dan was passing them to Burrick, i have all the copies of them.
so people you can believe what you want, you cannot want us in your churches, this is up to you, but we have been vey honest about all this. and there is more , But at this time , I simply cannot add names. until the others give me a go ahead.

I hope you all read this, for this is pretty much what went down at ALLEN BAPTIST CHURCH to all the elders of the church, we have been treated with the worst tha we can even imagine that a christian person can ever be treated like. I know GOd will judge him for all the things he has said and done to us. and the GOd that I serve will deal with him, one time or the other. IT will be in GOd's time not ours
we are all older members there anywhere from 15 -50 yrs. Oh we believe in changes, and we have agreed to many changes there. But you simply canno't believe what comes out of this pastors mouth, this I hope never tarnishes the Baptist Churches.
But once more in the past three weeks of going to church we had been treated horrible, YOu might say, Why stay there? Well why should we ru. There comes a time in life, that you have to stand for what is right and what it not right.

We have a beatiful letter from LItchfield Baptist Church welcoming us with open arms.
And I want to thank the pastor and his people for the welcome,
Another church we attended was Bankers Baptist CHurch,
Those people have been VERY warm welcoming us there.
and we thank this church and its people for the warmth they have given us.
Burrick said he had contacted all the churches around in the area, and said none of these churches wanted to have such owful people in their churches. how much of this is true. I don't know. but we havent been to any other churches except these two churches and they have been wonderful and kind to us. and we are greatful to each of them

Hey Pat, would it stun you to find out that Burrick is a liar as well as a bully? Hyles grads have no problem in lying to get their way. In fact, Jack Schaap, current pastor of the Hyles church (First Baptist of Hammond) and de facto head of the school has told some incredible, hateful lies from the pulpit about former leaders at Pillsbury Baptist College (the sermon "Why are you here", which he preached at Hyles Anderson in September 2006). Numerous Pillsbury grads have discredited his story that the Dean of Men at Pillsbury directed the boys in one of the dorms to verbally abuse and spit on him. Not one person has credited the account. And it is unbelievable, as Pillsbury is probably one of the most stable Baptist colleges in Fundamentalism, with much more grounding in theology than most. The young men are taught to behave with dignity and Christian kindness.
Don't be surprised to discover that Burrick will lie to accuse (as he has already done) and will lie to cover up for himself, and will lie to intimidate. Those are all pretty standard tactics for HAC grads.
