Gravatar I read the article by Harry Jackson, Jr. Unfortunately, he appears to be rejoicing in the inappropriate words from Rev. Jesse Jackson. I pray that the next time that he sins that he will remember his own words: denied, dethroned and dishonored.

Gravatar I am a Christian who happens to be African American. My allegience is to the Lord first and foremost.

I have to say that I am very disappointed with the overall comments from my Christian brethren. It if fine to personally decide which candidate you support however God is just and and a balanced judge. I don't see this approach to your publication or those who contribute their articles and comments. Obama is portrayed as evil. The truth is McCain could be judged harshly also. He left his disabled wife for a new rich one. He appears angry and condescending toward Obama, he doesn't even know (or should we say he is being "secretive") about how many houses he owns - can we trust him to lead the country? McCain says he's pro-life however all these polticians know there's not much they can do to overturn Roe vs. Wade so they tell us Christians what we want to hear and we buy it like naive fools. Proof in point - has Bush done anything in 8 years to outlaw abortion?

Finally I notice White Christians never seem passionate about civil rights violations that effect Blacks. I've read comments about Blacks maintaining a slave mentality after slavery has been over 200 years. How dare you - you're clueless to what Blacks, especially Black males go through. I don't expect you to know but my God - you don't seem even interested. Your politics is self-centered and uninformed. Shame on you. God is surely also moved by oppression, the rich taking advantage of the poor, greed, racisim etc. You would never know it by your publication. It is carnal and no different than all the other partisan media coverage. So much for being salt and light.
