As a Fundamentalist Christian, I don't understand the outcry about a Mormon running for President.
How is a Morman sinner more lost than a sinner with no religion at all? Why is voting for a lost Morman a sin against God but voting for a lost Catholic or Agnostic isn't?
I'm not advocating voting for Mitt Romney. I don't plan to vote for him but not because he is a Morman.
I wouldn't get all misty eyed about Fred Thompson being a born again Christian just yet. He might make a good President, but let's not justify voting for him by telling ourselves he's "one of us".
Mike Huckabee is a Christian but that doesn't mean he can run this country.
Just my opinion.

I am an evangelistic Christian who until 7 years ago was a card-carrying member of the Mormon church for over 20 years. I once served as a counselor in the Relief Society and received my temple endowment and was sealed to my first husband in the temple. I divorced about 7 years before actually leaving Mormonism and did over 3 years of research into the deeper teachings and doctrines of the Mormon cult before leaving. What I found was documented in the Mormon church's own archives and historical documents and it sickened me. I am blessed to be free of it.
But more to the point and my issue with electing a Mormon as president. Since the time Joseph Smith was the original "prophet" and head of the Mormon church there has existed an agenda to place a Mormon in the White House. The ultimate goal of this is to place a Mormon in the highest office in this country to begin the institution of the Mormon law of consecration. The law of consecration involves the relinquishing of all personal property, food supplies, money, assets, and wealth to the Mormon heirarchy to distribute as they see fit. To qualify to receive any sustenance at all would require one to be a Mormon in good standing.
Does this sound familiar? Frightening? I might also point out that Mitt Romney has taken a pro-abortion stance and I would think any Christian must take issue with that.
I for one welcome the opportunity to support Fred Thompson should he choose to run. At least he has the courage to stand for biblical truth and values.
Just my ten cents worth.
