I would like to nominate Jim Wallis. Noone in recent memory has done as much as he has to bring the light to the real moral issues of our time (poverty, civil rights, etc). I also feel that he is intelligent about things, but not at the risk of talking above the heads of regular people (like many theologians frequently do).

Thanks for writing, however, Jim Wallis was not the kind of person we are looking for, he gets plenty of recognition.
Admittedly, I do not like his brand of religion or politics, regardless, we are looking for regular every day people.
We can carry this on via email, but how in the world can you not like him? What is not to like? Oh, you mean that he thinks fighting poverty is more important than stopping gay marriage? Nobody dies from being gay.
Judgement based on ignorance is a human failing which allowed carnal homosexual behavior to open the door to HIV, etc., and still produces unworthy priorities and unintelligent 'allowances.'
The need for self-justification drives every humanistic venture and produces failure and worse. Poverty is an economic result of distorted spiritual causes and will not be solved by economic 'fighting.' Check the Word.

Seriously? That's the funniest thing I've ever heard in my life. Yeah, we have poverty because of gay people and we shouldn't even bother to fight it economically. Is everybody here heartless? You probably all support the Iraq War.
Also, has the debate been had on here about whether the Bible is even anti-homosexuality? If not, we can have it.
