Now, it was my belief that any drug would only enhance the feelings/behaviour to which the individual was predisposed prior to ingestion ... so does this indicate the need for greater early intervention ... or simply that some people should not drink at certain times.
Broadly speaking, Palmer should be put out to pasture ... in large part it is his dour hyperbole that is fuelling this new age wowserism ... & ineresting also to see that judge Tony Adeane is again viewing alcohol as a mitigant for aggressive behaviour .. sooo many experts on behaviour, & so many of these experts have made their monies on defending these little beasties, adjudging the extent of their excess or arraigning them ... some experts.
Heard this nonsense on the news tonight.
It's always the same - punish the majority through increased taxes to solve a problem with the minority.
Time was being drunk and disorderly in public meant being arrested and spending the night in a cell, with an appointment before the magistrate the next day. A fine and adverse publicity quickly followed.
If bad behaviour is tolerated - and it does appear to go unpunished - then there's no reason for people to modify their behaviour.
Now it seems the press get all the footage of drunken youths they need and the politicians have an excuse to act to rectify a problem that inaction has allowed to grow.
This is what happens when people refuse to take responsibility. If they won't accept responsibility, they must be stripped of liberty.
