It's not a platform for leftist tripe.

Gravatar "If they feel something to be true, then it's obviously true. The feeling validates the judgement. When acting within a group of women the problem becomes worse--they talk about a problem in order to confirm their feelings, not to examine the problem critically."

This is overwhelmingly true. It parallels the stereotypical female behavior delineated below:

He: "What's wrong sweetie?"
She: "Nothing" [stormclouds in her face and great anguish in her voice.]
He: "You look very upset. Please, tell me."
She: "You wouldn't understand."

[This back-and-forth can go on for several more iterations. She's testing the sincerity of his desire to hear her woes. Finally she tells him what has her upset.]

He: "Well, have you thought of trying [analytically sound approach to her problem]?"
She: [Flies into a fury.]

[She doesn't want him to solve her problem, whatever it is. She wants him to sympathize with her -- the way her girlfriends do. By solving her problem, he's implying that her emotions are an overreaction, and inappropriate.]

This pattern is so consistent, and so easily observed, that there are hardly any counterexamples.

Gravatar Like all things in life, i think there is need for a balance, right now the it's tipped too much towards women and the boys are suffering for it. The rise in the number of metrosexual pansies and mens "care" products is testament to this.

Boys should be allowed to be boys, which is not to say they should become a band of savages or something. Rather that we men are good at certain things, why force us into doing things we don't like and are not very good at.

Gravatar And when women are analytical, we're accused of being "cold" & "clinical" in our views {had more than one 'gentleman friend' just give me The Look when I came out with some rather appropriate comment} ........................

Gravatar True enough, DM. But as MK says, it's a matter of balance.
I'd be equally uncomfortable with the idea of an all-male teaching environment because that would produce distortions as well.
We need both.

Gravatar Last year, my son had a teacher who simply could not tolerate boys. Every day it was a note home... sean can't sit still, sean won't color in the lines, stupid crap. Drove me nuts.

This year, they've put a male in the room with the boys and girls (the female teachers are there too) and the balance has worked wonderfully.
