From the stance of that person on the balcony I would say that aircraft was expected.
Having stood some years ago at the end of the runway at my local fighter base, with my then young son, I can attest to the absolutely ear drum shattering noise of those things.
Not the mention the feeling of 'jelly belly' that goes with it.
And don't they move!

Airshows are some of the best real entertainment around. We saw a stealth fighter and bomber at an airshow nearby. Quiet and deadly.
Fotget air shows - the real deal is even better! I was at a forward command post when air support was called in - they came at zero altitude, not a sound until directly overhead, made a rapid ascent at FLOT, turned on a wing-tip, dived at enemy positions released their missiles and then disappeared again at zero altitude. Absoutely no warning, very quick, and very messy for the targets.
mawm, very cool! Sneaking up on the enemy is always preferable.
Mawm, had the privilege of witnessing a demo by a single F111 which dropped cluster bombs onto figure 11 targets represening individual soldiers of company size, staked out over two acres.
In a word, WOW!
Couldn't hear it coming until it was over the target, and not one target was standing after it had gone!
Nemesis - it sure beats the 4th July/New Year/Guy Fawkes/Diwali celebrations.
