Gravatar CtBlogger. I saw the footage. Obama basically endorsed Lieberman. They raise money for each other.I wish I could think better of Obama, but I don't.
Otherwise it's pretty funny. The x-mas tree sticks. (Sigh).
BTW. Any chance for Malloy. I hope so.

Gravatar The Malloy-DeStefano primary has to be the most underreported thing in CT right now. Those two campaigns were going at it last night. People from both camps work the floor hard passing out material and both campaign tables were VERY organized and both candidadte's material was top-shelf.

I really have no idea what Lieberman's campaign was thinking with their set-up and that tacky tree branch thing. Everyone was joking about it.

I wouldn't read that much in Obama giving the thumbs up to Joe. If you listen to Obama's speech (I wish I had the audsi or video clip. I'll get it and post it soon), you can hear Obama "mildly" praising Joe in one breath, and ripping the Bush asministration over the war in the next (in fact, the cell phone reference Obama brought up originally came out of Lieberman's mouth).

If Lamont wins the primary, I think the Dems would back Lamont in a heartbeat. As someone who was there (which is different than watching it on TV), I can tell you that there was a lot of support for Ned and those people gave Joe a piece of their mind.

I'm sorry for the sloppy post but I'm really busy at work. I rpomise to clean things up later.

Gravatar Not a suprise that Lieberman gave out a Bush...

Gravatar that's cold

Gravatar Actually, I believe the only people wearing Lamont buttons were the usual Lamont supporters that are seen at every one of his events. Where were the thousands of Lamont volunteers that supposedly exist?

Gravatar Ctblogger, don't apologize. Your posts are great, x-mas tree sticks and all. The sticks almost seem to suggest a little smugness in the Joe campaign, but whatever. I could be wrong (sigh).
One thing on Obama though. One of the trusty FDL community came up with this. It's food for thought:

Obama has been supporting Joe with his PAC all along - here's Obama's list:

Barack's PAC is named the "Hopefund" and has raised half a million for the 06 senate campaigns of the selected candidates:
Senator Daniel K Akaka (Hawaii)
Senator Jeff Bingaman (New Mexico)
Senator Robert C Byrd (West Virginia)
Senator Maria Cantwell (Washington)
Senator Thomas R Carper (Delaware)
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (New York)
Senator Kent Conrad (North Dakota)
Senator Dianne Feinstein (California)
Senator Edward M Kennedy (Massachusetts)
Senator Herb Kohl (Wisconsin)
Senator Joe Lieberman (Connecticut)
Senator Ben Nelson (Nebraska)
Senator Bill Nelson (Florida)
Senator Debbie Stabenow (Michigan)

http://hopefundamerica.com/theca.../thecandidates/

quite a lineup eh? any more questions about Obama?

Gravatar Ct Blogger--we looked for you at the JJB dinner, couldn't find you, but the thing was so huge, and we were tucked away in the back. I thought the whole thing was great, Obama very inspiring, and it's good for the Dems that so many people were there. It's going to be a very interesting election season in CT this year. Keep up the good work!

Gravatar Mary (and CT Blue)

Sucks that we didn't meet up. I was in the back also, last table next to the kitchen and closest to the cocktail area (woo hoo).

Met with Joe Courntey and I told him that I was planning to see him in Groton last week. He told me a funny story about the next fundraiser he did which was in Rob Simmons' neighborhood...he collected a ton of cash).

Gravatar Excellent report. I hadn't heard about the pine branches before. Where is the vaunted Lieberman political machine? It's almost as if their entire early strategy is to lull the Lamont team into over-confidence by appearing inept.
