Gravatar Actually, that was me who contacted Bill Finch, and the entire post was CORRECTLY put up at MyLeftNutmet.com - to wit:

Sen. Finch supports Joe Lieberman, believing that he is in lockstep with the democratic platform and the DLC 90% of the time, and that the 10% where Lieberman breaks from his party is on personal principle.

Did I put the aide's name on the post? I think so.....

Gravatar Yes, you post is correct.

I didn't include the aide's name in the post and there is no need to do so since I stated that 1. The statement was from Bill Finch's office and 2. the Senator clearly states on his website that the quote was accurate.

Gravatar Sen Finch,

Either fire your aide for misstating your position and restate it or Keep your mouth shut. When something comes out of your office you own it.

I realize you're from Bridgeport and accountibility was taken out of Bridgeports political vocabulary a long time ago but we who don't live in your political cesspool still know that if something comes out of our office(or even our Blog) we own it.

Gravatar Hey, did that photo of him with Fabrizi and Newton go down the memory hole? The link is dead and it's not in your original post anymore, either.

Gravatar The original e-mail:

Subject: A question

Does Bill Finch support Joe Lieberman, or Ned Lamont in the upcoming August election?
Sue

Gravatar Maura,

Finch's office just removed the page. Too bad it's in the Google cache.

Gravatar Finch scrubbed an image from the official state (.gov) website? He may have some problems with Connecticut's FOI law, at the very least you could probably have fun FOI'ing him to get him to officially turn over copies of the pic -- anyone and everyone can do it. If the pic is deleted or he won't hand it over, things might be get real interesting...

Sec. 1-200. (Formerly Sec. 1-18a). Definitions. As used in this chapter, the following words and phrases shall have the following meanings, except where such terms are used in a context which clearly indicates the contrary:
(1) “Public agency” or “agency” means: (A) Any executive, administrative or legislative office of the state
...

Sec. 1-211. (Formerly Sec. 1-19a). Disclosure of computer-stored public records. Contracts. Acquisition of system, equipment, software to store or retrieve nonexempt public records. (a) Any public agency which maintains public records in a computer storage system shall provide, to any person making a request pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, a copy of any nonexempt data contained in such records, properly identified, on paper, disk, tape or any other electronic storage device or medium requested by the person, if the agency can reasonably make such copy or have such copy made.

Sec. 1-240. (Formerly Sec. 1-21k). Penalties. (a) Any person who wilfully, knowingly and with intent to do so, destroys, mutilates or otherwise disposes of any public record without the approval required under section 1-18 or unless pursuant to chapter 47 or 87l, or who alters any public record, shall be guilty of a class A misdemeanor and each such occurrence shall constitute a separate offense.
(b) Any member of any public agency who fails to comply with an order of the Freedom of Information Commission shall be guilty of a class B misdemeanor and each occurrence of failure to comply with such order shall constitute a separate offense.

So you FOI the senator, if he doesn't have the file he may have broke the law and if he refuses to give up the photo he probably would be breaking the law. You could have some fun with this...

Gravatar Oh man, you guys are going for the throat.

Boy, I hope he answers the question before you guys go lose...

I love my readers

Gravatar Doesn't Finch or his aides know that citing Lieberman embracing the DLC positions is not a GOOD thing?

For gawd's sake, they want to keep the minimum wage at the $5 it is. They are for turning back civil rights for blacks and women so they can capture the Southern and rural votes! They have lost us election after election !

I am sick of hearing the word 'principle' used by Joe Lieberman. If it was not for NO Principles, he would have none at all. Joe's job is to REPRESENT the Democrats. the Democrats have told Joe how they feel. Whether Joe thinks it is right or not, it is Joe's job to support what we want!

Finch better watch out, before he gets on the list of those we want purged out of this party!
