Somebody needs to ask Joe if he is hopeful that the Democrats take back the House, or if he's pleased to keep the Repubs in charge.

what is happening bobby is all these turds are afraid to lose their jobs so they are doing whatever they think will save their asses as it strikes them moment to moment...on last nights reruns of "the office" the geek who forces everyone to take a drug test ends up giving his urine to his boss so his boss won't get fired. i think the geek was in the shays role and loserman was in the boss role...or maybe vice versa??

A photo op under a overpass in the rain. "Joe Lieberman looks for a potential site of a homeless shelter for the heathens who dared to reject him." There comes a time when you have to realize that sometimes a friend becomes a loser through his own actions and wants to spread the pain to you. The people of Conneticutt who are still rational are aware of this.

Joe doesn't even care about the DLC anymore. By taking support from GOPers, campaigning with them, and refusing to endorce Democratic challenges in CT, he really has become a defacto Republican. This of course is the old rap on the DLC. Great job, Joe. Why to hang every single friend of yours out to dry.

Non Combatant? The DNC needs to start treating Joe as an "Enemy Combatant" and they need to start today.

Nobody is talking about it much, but doesn't it seem that Schlesinger is going to come under huge pressure to get out of the race to the advantage of Lieberman? I would think Rove will pull out every trick he knows to make that happen...

It looks like all the rats are bailing on the bad ship USS Bush and his Quagmire. For Joe to begin to turn, is the biggest rat to leave the sinking ship.
Could Joe be anymore Repugnant? So let's recap:
He's stabbed fellow democrats in the back for years on things from Monica to the Bush energy policy and Schaivo.
He aids the administration in their argument to question the patriotism of all dissenters to IraqNam.
Ned Lamont comes on the scene, wins a primary and Joe see's his seat slipping through his fingers.
Chris Shays and the other Repug's huddle with Loserman and come up with a united strategy to save all their behinds of floating a strategy that the other will look at.
Next, Lieberman says we must "cut and run". Oh, that's right--it's not cut and run when a Repug or one of their 5th Columnist's do it.
Let's see, Benedict Arnold had to leave America and I'll bet that Lieberman has to retire to a Red State when he, Chris Shays, etc get bounced. Folks are getting pissed and the transparent nature of their actions won't save them now.
Joe and Chris: You should have focused on saving your own behinds a year and a half ago. Anything you do now is being seen for the political b.s. that it is.
Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

"Hi, Atrios-people!"
HI!
Oh, and someone using the name ***** pointed out in the comments on the New Haven Independent News website that they should STOP referring to Lieberman as an Independent. He is not a member of the Independent party. The only party to which he holds any loyalty is the Joe for Joe Party. He is an unaffiliated turn-coat of a Democrat and should be represented as such!

Joe's self-destruction is amazing. He went from having principles (at least he was consistent) to acting as cynically and depravedly as the republicans.
This is now self-evident to anyone who is watching this campaign, and it has destroyed any dignity joe once had.
He cut out the only thing he had going for him... a public persona of someone who, although he had a different perspective, was acting in good faith on principle. He actually made a good case for it while debating Lamont. That's all gone now.

I can't wait to shove this in the faces of the vocal pro-Joe crowd that heatedly denied that his Groton photo-op with Rell and Simmons was campaigning on their behalf.

Being a "non-combatant" is exactly what's wrong with Lieberman. He will not stand up and fight alongside other Democrats.

"Joe Lieberman has turned his back on the Democratic Party."
Seens only fair. After all, they turned their back on him first.
Cheers...

Oh, yeah, it's "a little awkward" alright.
It's a "little awkward" because we still have Dem Sens. Pryor, Lincoln, Landrieu, and Levin giving this TRAITOR their support!
Now, that's "awkward" if you ask me.
Write to Sens Landrieu, Schumer, Reid, Levin, Pryor and Lincoln. Tell them Democratic Senators should support the candidate that DEMOCRATS elect.
