Speaking of drunks, I met Larry Bird once. It was at the opening of the local Meis store -- he had just gotten out of INState and had signed with the Celtics. My friend and I waited in line with our posters to get his autograph. It was about 10:00 a.m. and he was drunk as Cooter Brown.
He was a total asshole, too. That may have been the liquor talking, but I don't think so. I've hated him ever since.
