I'm reasonably certain that Satriani is not my cup of tea. But I think you would be interested in the fact that a guy I used to work with moonlighted in a band that often opened for Satriani when he played around this area.

Which, of course, is the biggest reason I ever heard of Satriani before this post.

Ken, I think you would be surprised at how much of Satriani's stuff that you would like. But, by and large, most of his stuff probably wouldn't be your cup of tea. On songs you'd like, he remade Johnny and Santo's Sleepwalk and it was fantastic.
