Dude that is cool. I always knew the screws were used to adjust the intonation but I never knew how to tell if it was set up right or not. Now I know how to check it and how to fix it. And that's cool. So thanks!

Thanks, man. That means a lot coming from a playing musician.

Cullen, you just gave me horrifying flashbacks to the first time I tried to do this on a bass (in high school); I don't know if I was tired or what, but for a long time it was like a cat chasing its tail. Eventually I got it, though, even getting the 24th fret and its harmonic to play nice.
But I haven't done that in a long time, now that you mention it. And I don't think I've ever tried it with my Carvin 6-string (maybe if I ever got new strings for the poor thing...).

BIAATGs are always my fav posts, bc I usually know very little or nothing about what you are talking about. Now I feel halfway edjumicated.
On a related note (ha!) I was watching VH1 last night and saw Dream Theater on its Classic Concerts. Were my eyes ever opened. Those dudes are great! And you were right about that dude's vocals. By the end of the first song I was wondering why I didn't notice how perfect his vox are for that band. Petrucci held me in rapt awe. This is the kind of music I've heard in my head for years, but lack the talent to transfer into reality. All very accomplished musicians. By the end of the hour I was wishing there was more. Catch the video if they play it again.

Most of this went over my head, but I'm going to show it to my son. I know he will appreciate it.
