So when did this suicidal impulse start? Or are you just not getting enough beatings at home?

Mwahahahaha!
Actually the parody was created around and so I could make the really bad pun at the end.
That and the fact that it's been pretty quiet out there the past couple of days.

I happen to love that stove though, man. Very retro, very classic, very cool.

I can't resist:
Sylvia Plath loved her gas oven.

When I got out of the Army and was living back in my hometown, I had a stove very similar to this,
I loved it, but it had some issues (gas leaks that were too difficult to repair, the oven door wouldn't close right and therefore the temperature of the oven read wrong, etc.) and we had to get rid of it.
There's a company called Elmira Stove Works that makes retro kitchen appliances. Pretty cool. Check 'em out.

Shannon that was zesty and made me chuckle. Big time. I almost did a water spit on the keyboard.
Is it me or does that drawing look like an ad for a double wide trailer?

I love those old retro stoves - although my stove is not electric, I have a gas stove - but it's modern and sleek. Just not as cute. My favorite is the rounded retro refrigerators - I wish I had one.

Elmira's sells the retro fridge, too, Red. But these from Big Chill are ultra-snazzy.

At the ranch, we still have the refrigerator my grandpa bought for his mother. I don't know exactly when he bought it but she died in 1940.
Still works, too.

Reminds me of a joke:
Why are women's feet smaller than men's?
So they can stand closer to the stove.
or
How many men does it take to change a light bulb in the kitchen?
None, let her cook in the dark.
I got a million of them...
Tip your waitresses and try the veal.

Sylvia Plath had a big ath. That's like the range my parents had. Here we run electricity and have a Thermador, but Aga, it's what an oven wants to be when it grows up.
I wish BigChill would do a side-by-side, we can't swing a dead cat in our kitchen.
