A very accurate observation, my young friend.

I thought so. Thanks for noticing. I was, in fact, listening to "Time is Tight" when I decided to make the observation.

I don't know... I'm thinking that much of the awesome was soaked up by Guns N Roses.
In fact, GNR soaked up so much awesome that they actually imploded due to the weight of the awesome.
Either that or too many of today's bands listened to too much Nirvana (teh ultimate suck)

GnR had a good album and a decent follow up. But they were no where near the awesome that the MGs were. I mean we're talking about Steve Freakin' Cropper, man.
As for Nirvana ... they had a two really good albums. Oddly, they preceded and followed Nevermind.
But neither band are anywhere near Booker T and the MGs level of influence and awesomeness. We talking about guys that defined more rock and roll than Elvis. We're talking about guys that the Beatles worshiped.
