Man, you just about said it all. I suspect that many of us who started out reading comics delved further into lit because of the references we found in the panels. As for comics reinforcing a Christian morality, I honestly have never thought of that; but you're right! (Where were you when my mama was having concerns about my reading habits? Btw, I'm not much worried about the Disney buyout. Like you said, Marvel (heck the whole industry) has weathered storms before. So far they're still doing okay.
