Great piece, as always. You damn well better be continuing offseason coverage, because I'm not doing this by myself.

Has anyone else wondered where this team would be if they had just given Ladell a chance to be the player he is before trading the best corner in the league (possibly NFL history)? Good corners are hard to find and great ones are impossible to find (unless, of course, they are already on your rooster). Certainly, the biggest challenge for this team will be to shore-up the secondary before the O-line needs a revamp that will likely take a several season. Good running backs can be found with relative ease and we all know a good running back is only one facet of a good running game.

Wilbert-
I completely agree with you. The Redskins simply didn't know what they had in Betts and it has cost them, big time. Cost them in terms of losing Champ Bailey, cost them in terms of the Duckett fiasco, and will apparently cost them in terms of having to sit one or the other on the bench for any given play instead of having two talented players that can contribute every down.
And I agree, there's always another running back in the pipeline, but good defenders are hard to find. Anyone who's played fantasy football knows that there's always some new flash-in-the pan youngster that emerges to rush for 1000 yards. Ironically, no team demonstrates this better than the Broncos, who routinely cycle through young running backs yet are always strong at the position.
Dan Snyder is a moron.
