Really, I'm pretty juiced to see the Anacostia Shore Offense.

Anyone who thinks that the 2000 Redskins were in "playoff contention" at 7-6 wasn't paying attention. It was painfully apparent that the team was in the midst of a collapse like the ones it executed in 1996 and 1997.
Good couple of articles, but I still see no pattern of Snyder hiring head coaches who will kowtow to his will and no reason to think that this is what he's looking for this time.

I never meant to imply that the 2000 team was awsum, they were mathematically in the playoff race and had not been eliminated.
In season firings are still rare in the NFL and this not Steve Mariucci being fired at 4-7, Norv's team was still over .500 though after a five game win streak early in the season the 2000 Redskins had lost four of five at the point Norv was fired.
Snyder could not let go with Marty. Steve Spurrier was not the next big thing. Joe Gibbs did well but then Dan treated him like Abe Pollin treated Michael Jordan, making one wonder if Dan had was using Joe and had planned all along to blow it up when it was over.
The next coach will be a Chan Gailey style pawn of the Redskins and will be out in two or three seasons.
