Gravatar Colt Brennan is more like a modern day Danny Wuerffel. Let's hope there is no truth to the rumblings that if Jim Zorn falters, June Jones could be next in line to jump from college to the Redskins and make sure his golden boy quarterback from days of yore leads his team in the pros.

Gravatar Look, Colt Brennan is anything but average. Sure, he needs to get stronger. He will. He sure has all the tools to be an offensive threat in the NFL. The entire NFL wants QB's who would probably be better tight ends. Big, strong, built to take hits. Most of them don't cut it. Average, most of them.

If Brennan is going to start off on the scout team for the Skins, their defense will be better. He'll probably play Romo and Manning better then they do.

Whatever happened to that good old football where the QB gets rid of the ball for big gains? That's what Brennan can bring to the Skins. Get him up to speed, Jim Zorn!

Gravatar The Wuerffel comparison is maybe not exact, disclaimer I am still sore in the QB from the Wuerffel experience, anecdotally Danny was surrounded by higher quality players at Florida than was Colt at Hawaii.

The comparison though is valid in the context of the 'system' quarterback, which is why we made the Andre Ware comparison. June Jones, who I want to see back in the NFL just not in Washington, and Jerry Glanville run a wide open system premised on tight routes, good timing and QB knowledge. All good skills for a west coast offense QB.

By the way that is not an endorsement.
