If any of you know Ben, the thought of him sitting in "respectful silence" is akin to Bush's "compassionate conservatism." In writing is sounds possible but in reality - probably not.
Okay, now that I got my pot-shot of Ben off, football! I think the Birds are going to come out and do the unthinkable - run, run, run! As Ben points out, the Fins had a fair amount of success running the ball and frankly, I don't think they took the run game straight at Andre Carter like I would. Also, with Daniels out the other end needs to be tested. Look for lots of runs at the 3,4, 5 & 6 gaps. I hope your linebackers are as good as you think. However, what this did for the Fins, and I have to assume it will be the same for the Birds, is forced the linebackers and safties up a bit, thus opening the mid-range passing area (10 to 20 yards - particularly in the middle of the field). Expect to see a lot of Jason Avant, Kevin Carter and LJ in this area tonight too. That is the bread and butter of Andy's west coast O.
If yall commit to the blitz, I would expect to see a lot of the screen play as well. The Birds run this very well. However, linebackers with speed and athleticism could trump this. That will be fun to watch.
I think this is going to be a fun game to watch. Classic NFC Beast stuff. Good defenses and solid committed running games backed by smart and dynamic passing attacks.

Ok, I gotta hand it to the Redskins. Last week I lambasted them in this space for not winning convincingly, and last night they did just that. The offense was moving the ball fairly well and the defense never really let Philly in the game.
2-0 is a nice way to start, no matter how you cut it.
So, Ben, I can hardly wait to find out how the Philly fans managed to violate your person or your property this time. Do tell.
