Wha??? This would be a lateral move for Schwartz away from the Titans and Jeff Fisher. Ain't gonna happen. Schwartz has the players he wants and the head coach he likes. Why would he go into the cluster#### that is the Skins when the Titans are poised for a big run over the next couple of years? If Schwartz were to leave the Titans it would be for a Head Coaching gig, not the same job he already has...
It would technically be a lateral move for Jim Schwartz and therefore unless Jim's contract has expired the Redskins would owe the Titans some compensation, assuming they would agree to negotiate in the first place.
But that compensation would come from the Redskins not Jim Schwartz, it would be no skin off him.
If Jim is really a Gregg Williams guy and not a Jeff Fisher guy, then he would want to make this move. Why not? Jeff Fisher has been there so long that when the curtain finally falls on him there will be a housecleaning.
Further, I expect Jim realizes he can get a payraise and a new contract by joining the Redskins. I have no reason to believe that the Titans are cheap with their players, however there have been anecdotal stories over the years dating back to Houston about what a hard owner Bud Adams is to work for.
Jim Schwartz is a hired gun, just like Gregg Williams. He'll bail on Jeff Fisher if the money is right. And we know the Redskins are loose with draft picks so it will be like, ok how much do you want for him.
I am not in any way advocating this course of action, I am just sizing up the way it seems.
