In looking at this trade, I'd have to agree with Jason La Confora that on Sunday July 20, 2008, this trade was a good move for the Redskins. The problem is that The Danny has been burning draft pics like they were blunts at a reggae show since he took over. The bottom line is that with Daniels and Buzbee gone a move had to be made and this was the best of them. A savvy team would have had another option - to give some of the younger guys a chance to step-up at the least. That was not the case here. The irony of this is that he had to burn more draft pics to get this deal done. The good news is that it would appear this contract has almost no potential long-term negative impacts on the salary cap.

In the end, with two draft pics and $8 mil ($16.5 over two years) gone, the skins are slightly better than they were and are still painfully bare along the D-line.
