Are you joking? First off, an intruder comes into his home and shots Taylor....and somehow thats Sean's fault ? Seriously? Second, as to why he wasn't in Washington, here's Jason LaConfora on Redskins Insider:

Yes my initial piece, below the bars, was too harsh which I recognized above. I have chosen to leave it there rather than edit it out. I want to see Sean recover, just as I would want to see any gunshot victim survive and recover.
As tragic as this is it is unescapable that Sean Taylor has established a history. Perhaps his house being broken into and a robbery attempted while he was in the house is pure coincidence, a house valued at 700k+ probably in a nice neighborhood. Wrong place wrong time happens all the time in this world.
We also know from his previous gun charge that he associates with a sketchy crowd, guys that did not argue when his reaction to a trailer with his two ATV's being 'stolen' was to get more guys with guns and bats and not call the police. That's a pretty good tipoff that we are not talking about a garden variety larceny here.
I hope he is ok.

Yes it was crass and I should have refrained from commenting, as I indicated above based on the reporting at the time the injury did not appear to me to be serious. The AP would not have reported Sean as 'receiving treatment' if they knew his injury was life threatening or that he was in a coma.

This is a tough one. Just saw Gibbs on ESPN News. I think everyone, outside of a few classless trolls, is at a loss.
I've had to slap myself more than once when the whole "the team could use this as a rallying point" thought surfaced.
I hope he recovers so that his daughter doesn't have to grow up without a father.
