Gravatar Dave. I know that what you are saying is not your invention. You are getting it from higher authorities. So, according to them מצה comes from the (uncertain) root נצה 'to make haste' (as said: וימהר אברהם.) In other words מצה is 'a quicky.' This gives me a business idea: to introduce a קוויקר matza brand and if I am successful the מה נשתנה song will be changed to the much freilicher שבכל הלילות אנו אוכלים קוויקר וקווקר. Moreover, from the same root we have מצה 'quarrel' with an obvious connection to our פסח מצה to wit: the bakers fight hard to be the quickest to produce the קוויקר. There is another מצה 'ruin' which is also easily related to our מצה to wit: the bakers fight so hard that they ruin each other, just before פסח לא עלינו. As for the מצץ theory, I think that when משיח will come and we will get a new Torah Gen. 1,9 ותראה היבשה will be improved into ותראה המצוצה. The דרש about מיצוי-החמצה is a good one, but what is החמצה? why, obviously, it is הקמצה. the קמצן is acually a חמצן or may be even a self חמסן. I may say more on this if I will be challenged to it by a clear sighted reader who will prove me wrong.
