I own some of the tractates of the Hebrew/Aramaic edition. I cannot praise this work enough. When my study partner dropped out of Talmud class, I thought I would fail for sure. I found a copy of Steinsaltz on the tractate we were studying (Shabbat). My Hebrew is only so-so, but Steinsaltz explanations enabled me to pass the class with a respectable grade. I have seen, but do not own the English edition.
