With all this textile action going on, can we assume that the Hebrew "tsipa, tsipui" are also connected?

Other words, possibly related:
musav - couch (Song of Songs 1:12)
The english word SUPine.

Gravatar Toby - surprisingly, I couldn't find anyone who made that connection.

Gravatar The Arabic 3rd person past tense of “to put in line, arrange in a line” is saffah = صف , saff (صف ) is a noun meaning a line (of people for example like in a school or army when people stand in attention) , or sitting on a suffah (sofa). I see lining things (or people) is a common thread between sofa (where people sit in line), carded wool, compacting textile (straightening threads (?) in a loom).

Gravatar I just question the biblical book name Malachim, which I read as being a book about angels...

Gravatar Joel - Fair enough, I'll go with Sefer Melachim in the future...
