I have to say that I never noticed the "yamin" in the name Binyamin, until I read the children's book "Shemot Muzarim" by Shari Dash Greenspan (an excellent book, by the way, if you'd like your young ones to grow up paying attention to language nuances). The book goes through the names of the children in a kindergarten, pointing out how each is inappropriate for the child; Adina isn't gentle, Keshet prefers the color black, Sivan was born in the month of Elul, Binyamin is left-handed, and on and on... |
