I hadn't thought of it before, but the onomatopoeia concept for pach makes a lot of sense - for years, our kids have been coming home saying "boom, trach" and the connotation is certainly a loud one. Trach and Pach are pretty similar; I could totally see that inspired by smashing metal.
Definitely interesting.

Whether you agree with that theory of not, it sounds an awful lot like bak-book, which is another type of container. Speaking of containers, the third definition of "tin" emphasizes the "container" aspect of the metal: "any pot, box, can, or other container or vessel made of tin or tin plate."
But wait, there are more "container" words with a similar sounds: poke, pocket, and pouch.
