Hi to both of you with love and hugs.
My, how God is leading you into deep conversations and situations before you even get to your new home. To me the fact you were asked to be the worship team is just another confirmation that the Lord is directing you in this venture. The people on the team look like a great new family and I know they will lvoe both of you. The e-mails are so full of wisdom beyond your years, but not beyond the wisom that comes from God. There is no doubt in my mind at all that you are both going to be used in a marvelous way to reach those around you with The Truth and Grace of Christ. Stay well, make time for each other....and know we all love you. Deb and Liz got home last night and we all met at El Chico for dinner. They had a great time. You are in our thoughts, hearts and prayers and will be until we see you again. Keep up the journal, it really helps keep our prayers on tract and lets us know specific things to pray about. P.S. you are the best looking couple in the group, and of course, the smartest. I am not prejudice.

So very well said Nana. (Hope its OK to call you that.) I couldn't agree more.
We too love the journal and look forward to the periodic updates. The lessons of the blessings we have in this country have just begun. It is humbling and brings up old memories. Look forward to hearing more about the worship team duties.
With love to both, Rick (Dad)

mike, very poignant comments with a touch of bitter english theory in them. soon young grasshopper will become master. i just spent a week in santa fe listening to "liberated" academics and artists rant and rave about the "poor condition" of our country, but what i don't understand is how they ignore the fact that our country allows them to rant and rave. you seem to have hit it on the head. why do we settle for watching our dreams slip by only to complain about how we can't live out those dreams? that seems to be the american way. on a lighter note, i would like to remind you that some of our "oppurtunities of a lifetime" are sitting right in front of us. you and katie sound like you have found yours, and i will continue to pray and encourage you in these endeavors, but it doesn't take grandiose plans to live these dreams. God pushed me into my dreams as i was kicking and screaming. who knew that teaching college freshman in oklahoma would be my dream? the impact that God allows me to make on their lives has been the biggest (and most challenging) thrill of my life (next to my soon to be wife). i guess through all of my ranting, i just wanted to say be careful not to overlook the power God gives us in our everyday experiences to live out our "oppurtunities of a lifetime." being His child is a dream come true for our earthly lives.

ps - brent, it sounds like you needed to spend a little more time in the classroom and a little less time on the intramural softball fields...or did they have computers back then?
