Remember to try to accurately estimate the height of the tree before you cut it down. I remember several occassions when we used to cut them down when you were little and we'd get home and dad would have to trim the tree a little more (he'll say inches if you ask him, but it's more like feet!

Holiday Ale Festival? Portland has a Holiday Ale Festival? I've got to get out more. The lighting of the Christmas tree at Flower Mound's Parker Square (complete with live nativity and kettle popcorn guy and balloon animals) just lost whatever luster it might've had. And I don't think they have souvenir mugs, either.
