I take it that's rhetorical.
Still not the first to be convicted from an Obama administration, but he beat Rahm from being the first to bow out.
My doubts about Richardson's suitability for some administrations as he's done the honorable thing and stepped aside. Maybe a closet Republican?
I've watched Richardson over the years and I tend to the same observation as West Rhino.
Of course, we have a lot to hear about from Chicago and Ohio.
It's the Panetta gig that has me spiked.
Panetta? Why not Primakov (Plame, Walker, Hanson, Ayres even - Ramsey Clarke would be a ringer)?
Let's look at this. As Chief or Staff, Panetta signed off on Sandy Berger, George Tenet, Tony Lake and Dr. Deutsch (who brought with him Nora Slotkin) who did more to demoralize Langley Prep than even Stansfield Turner. (Both Deutsch and Slotkin ended up as VP's at Citibank.)
But, then again, remember Baraq is going to establish his national civilian security force. That will be subjective. Intelligence gathering should be objective. I doubt he understands the difference between security and itelligence gathering. But, how would he? It’s real world stuff.
More than likely, intelligence as an element of statecraft will be suborned to the pseudo-diplomatic role, a status symbol, Tenet made of it, and it will leak from the bridge.
Clinton ‘flipped the bird’ to the military with his gay thing, and in a way to the gay community as well (using us as pawns in his game of contempt). So Baraq is doing the same to another element the liberals hate with escalating fever (and fervor) and don't hesitate to denigrate. Prior to leaving office, Clinton seeded many political appointees at CIA with permanent status (maybe a K drop in salary). Well, they’re still there and have been all along. Panetta’s appointment is an insult. Considering how bloated the intelligence community has become since the 9/11 Commisssion, CIA will be a sandbox for Paletta.
A Commerce Secretary, though, when given the tools can be a dynamic position. It can be a great glad-hander role as well. And there are many suitable candidates for it.
But whether it's CIA, DNI, FBI, NSA or (my) DIA, the role of director requires some experience.
Clearly this boy needs adult supervision.
It almost makes you wish there was a Section 31 out there looking after us.

The Panetta appointment proved one thing - that for all the far left loves to armchair quarterback intelligence and intelligence agencies, they really have no clue what goes on there, why, or how those decisions are made.
And war time is no time for screwing up intelligence capabilities. If he had a clue about what it takes to lead a nation for real rather than just rhetorically, he would understand that.
Well Pancetta is another link in hte Clinton-Obama field... what was that axiom about keeping your friends close and your enemies closer? It seems to be working for Hamas using the IDFs counter battery fire as cover for continuing to deal with Fatah and PLO political adversaries in Gaza.
Could there be a separated at birth of triplets; Woody Allen who wrote and acted with jokes, Peter Sellars who as Cleuseau acted a joke. Now we see Leon Panetta an absolute joke.
Just watch for more.
Note how every issue will have to be an insurmountable challenge in prepared speeches before crowds or one-way cameras.
Note how solutions will be dictated and not defined. But, "I'm solving that by ...(Dissemble).."
Note how any queries will be handled with "I'll (We'll {?}) be addressing that in (forthcoming speech)."
Now, in only limiting us to recent memory - because I wouldn't want to prejudice anyone by calling up images of Il Deuce or Der Fuhrer - think about the day-long of harangues by Fidel and Hugo; not to forget the Pouting Persian Pimp. In other words, the campaign continues.
We may have to invert the Macchiavellian idea and hold our dear ones as close as we can - before we lose them.
Manipulation and mendacity are part of this Obama species blood-group.
