I'm glad the ridiculous ban was eventually lifted, but I'm angry this situation ever arose in the first place. It just goes to show how far anti-American liberalism has penetrated our great nation. Scary!!

Oh, kerfuffle is a WONDERFUL word!
Really, though, it drives me nuts when people do the "Well, everyone has issues so we'll just treat all arguments the same" sort of reaction. How ridiculous! As if waving or wearing the Hamas flag is on par with wearing or waving the American flag! I don't CARE if someone feels singled out by it! I would not demand my "right" to wear the American flag to school in the West Bank! And I wouldn't protest the waving of the Ethiopian flag if I lived in Ethiopia.
People have lost all common sense.
I guess it would be unreasonable for their students to kknow these lines by Whittier:
'"Shoot, if you must, this old gray head,
But spare your country's flag," she said.
A shade of sadness, a blush of shame,
Over the face of the leader came;
The nobler nature within him stirred
To life at that woman's deed and word;
"Who touches a hair of yon gray head
Dies like a dog! March on!" he said.'
But that was written in 1864. At the time loyal Americans were in conflict with loyal Americans. Today we're in a conflict with forces far more alien, but the delicate system is rife with inner plagues far worse than bullets or cannon.
